Does anyone know if FDC is flexible hours - such as earlier in the morning or later in the evening??

Also, do they still drop off and pick up kids from school??

I remember going when we were kids, but that was yonks ago!!

Thanks!

I think it would probably depend on the carer, but I don't really know.

Yup, it depends on the carer. You may have to pay extra for extended hours etc.

FDC can provide all of those services, if you have the right carer. One wonderful family day carer I know has children overnight to help out shift workers, as well as weekends, etc - she has been looking after them for 17 years and is a gem. Contact your local scheme and have a chat to them - they can be surprisingly flexible and the additional cost is quite minimal when compared to a centre based care option.

the other option to look into is In Home Care which many of the FDC schemes offer - that is when the carer looks after your children in your own home. Once you hit three children (which you have) it becomes more cost effective to do it that way too apparently. Try the East Brisbane Community Centre - their scheme provides in home carers for all areas of Brisbane - their number is 38915684
