View Full Version : How much does (your partner) drinking beer affect TTC?

Just curious if he needs to cut it out or just cut back and what affect beer has on the chances of conceiving etc :confused:

My naturpath said it doesnt affect you chances of concieving that much but it does have an impact on your chances of miscarrying once you are pregnant. Healthier the sperm and eggies are the better for baby I guess.

My husband drinks everyday, 2 or 3 beers after work, and we had no trouble conceiving.

I guess he's probably drank that much after work since he started work.
In the good old days- ie when Hugh was just a thought, we'd both be out heaps on the weekends and that generally involved a lot of drinking.
It's funny you should bring it up as yesterday when Hugh had his 8 week shots, the nurse asked Angus how much he drank and suggested 2 standard drinks 2-3 times a week is the healthier recommendation.

well that would be a healthier option LOL but as you probably know, try convincing that to the man! hehe

He has cut right back though so only a couple of days a week. Like your partner, mine enjoys a few beers after work cause it relaxes him - i am just asking the question cause i have heard conflicting things about the effect of alcohol on sperm & fertility etc..

He has been drinking beer since teenager , has two kids already though from previous marriage and conceived them straight away and would have been drinking a lot more back then (they are 8 and 11).

guess will see in a months time huh! :-) :smiliedance:
