Is there any known benefits for those without an intolerance to gluten going gluten free?

For some reason it's come into my mind that it may benefit me but I'm really not sure. I've tried looking things up on it but I can't seem to find anything on it.

I saw an artical on this a week or two ago in a food magazine, I will attempt to hunt it down for you.

The general gist of it was though that it is of no benefit to go gluten free if not needed.......

Will see if I can track it down for you!!

The good thing about gluten free is it limits many of the starchy carbs we fill our bodies with. Its great for weight loss. LOL But then so is a low carb diet. Or a Paelo diet.

Thanks for the c&e mum.

Kat....so does the diabetic diet I'm meant to be on :o

I'm so slack at implementing things so I know if I did go gluten free it'd be a struggle to stay that way.

I felt a hell of a lot less bloated when I was only eating gluten free foods so that was definitely a benefit :)

teehee....don't stress. Thanks for looking anyway.

I'll have a bit more of a look after DS is in bed and I can concentrate properly.

I think the bloatiness that PP's descibed is normal for anyone coming off gluten - doesnt necessarily mean there is an intolerence, just a change in the gut!!

Maybe just come off and see how you go, its worth a shot!!!!

I dont eat a lot of bread, due to it just making me feel yuck - i stick to wraps, etc!!

DD2 is Gluten intolerant so we all have switched to Gluten free food wasnt to hard to change at all except the bread the gluten free stuff isnt the best so thats the only Gluten product we have but omg i notice such a difference in behaviour sleep general temperment and also toileting DD2 gets runny nappy to really constipated like which made her bottom bleed her sleeping was horrid she screamed she was a terror really.
I like going Gluten free food wasnt too hard to find we found sausages and gravies sauces and other food gluten free so didnt have to change much at all.
Im staying Gluten free while i breast feed bubba number 3 when he/she is born to see if it makes any differnce as well
