I have been debating on whether to buy an okp this month. Does anyone know how much they generally cost? I am temping and checking cm, do you think that would just be an extra expense i shouldn't need?
Any thoughts?

Hi!
IMHO i think i should have saved my money!! I purchased the Maybe Baby off an internet pharmacy site for $50 (approx) but it does retail at most pharmacys from between $60-80... so far the stupid thing hasn't told me anything... i have tried all the suggestions that were posted in a different thread and nothing.... Grrr
So now DH & I are going with the approach from day 8 to day 20 of my cycle we BD every second day... and that doesn't cost us a cent! :p
Good luck! :D
I have been using OPK's - fortel and another brand (senior moment??) and never have come up positive. My best friend is a doctor and she was seeing a patient who used a OPK the month she fell pregnant with her baby, but never got a positive for O in that month. I won't be buying them again.

Hello,
I used the Fortel brand and it only took 2 cycles for me to conceive both of my beautiful daughters. They do cost about $20, but it was well worth the investment!!!! So, i would have to say buy them they are worth it.

The first month I tried them I used Fortel (about $20). One of the tests was faulty so I felt ripped off to begin with and then I never got a positive - even though I got all the bodily signs I did O.
The 2nd month I ramped it up and bought an expensive brand (about $60). Still never got a positive even though I O'd on Day 14 and 9 days later got a BFP on the HPT. :D
Unlike Leisha (stick at it Leisha!!) I did get ferns on the Maybebaby after 2 months of trying, but you can get ferns at different times of the month so not as spot on as OPK's I don't think. I was BDing every 2nd day until I saw the ferns on Day 14 (I normally would O on Day 15) so I made sure we BD'd that day and it obviously worked so I love the Maybebaby!
I would never buy an OPK again. Biggest waste of money in the world in my case. :(
Hi an OPK worked for me. Dh and myself were trying for a year without success. I decided to buy an OPK and fell pregnant that month. Sorry I can't remember the brand, but I will be using one the next time round. I have very irregular cycles and the OPK really helped us to find the right time of the month (if you know what I mean)

I've bought two OPK's and two pregnancies have resulted, one this year, and one a few years ago.
Fortel was $17.95 in the supermarket earlier this year.
For me, well worth the investment.

I guess it is split down the middle on this one! Thanks for your insights!
