something I've been wondering for awhile now is can you feel bub still moving inside of your stomach while you are in labour? Or are the contractions so painful you cant feel anything else other than them?! And, after our waters break, how does bub surivive inside of us without any fluid!?
In terms of movements, in between contractions (when I had no pain) my baby had the hiccups! I couldn't believe I was in established, painful labor and yet, I could feel her having hiccups!

Movements - I felt DD move between contractions. Although they are painful, the pain usually goes away completely in between contractions (except for the final stretch) so you are still able to be aware of your body and your baby.
Fluid - any "breathing" of fluid in utero is purely practice. They survive because the placenta is what gives them oxygen. The waters are mainly there for cushioning I think.

I felt bubs while in labour.
Would have a contraction then she would give me a great big kick as if to say "Hey Im in here stop squeezing the walls on me"
I felt movements during labour, but only between contractions. When i was birthing DS2, his head was out, and i could feel his feet moving still inside me....it was a bizarre feeling let me tell you!

LOL! I had the same with DS! His body was half out and I thought someone was holding him trying to pull him out and I got really stroppy and said "stop touching the baby!!" and it turns out no one was near him, he was just floating from side to side in the water while wriggling his legs inside me still.
