hi there,

im almost 14 weeks, and i actually had various bleeding/spotting for a momentary cycle for every day for 3 weeks exactly... to find out i have
a subchorionic haemorhage.. its stopped bleeding now, but can start again... and clot is still visible on scan etc...

from what ive read and learnt, it 'can' be a sign of bad things to come, but not necessarily...

if you are worried definetly go to your gp etc & explain 'your' specific symptoms & situation, because all of our experiences are different...

good luck

I had bleeding/spotting up until 12 weeks - From the research I've done it's rather common.

When I was spotting the doctors were worried about my blood group for the anti d injection as well. I'd get it checked out to put your mind at ease

Good luck :)

Thanks for that. I am rather worried at the moment. I am not bleeding profusely but when I wipe myself the discharge is reddish. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am going to go for a check up tomorrow:fingerscrossed:

.... I am not bleeding profusely but when I wipe myself the discharge is reddish.....

yep that is what mine was at first, but sometimes it would change to bright red, & then different again..

it came in these weird 12-24 hr cycles...

it originally started around 6pm then hovered around the late pm every night, a couple of days it waited til the early am hours of the morning but mostly just late evening...
it would be fresh blood at first but then slowly go to brown for a number of hours.. [often until the following arvo] then a couple of hours of nothing then the cycle would start again.... it was sooooo weird!!!

good luck - take care:fingerscrossed:

btw, just wanted to add, because its so early they will possibly not say much or do anything for you unfortunately - they will likely suggest it would be a threatening miscarriage... but be positive because it may be just like many others, just spotting...

it is veeeery hard not to worry tho & just live in limbo not knowing!

Avi........ I had a light "period" when I was about 6 -10 weeks pg with pg number 2. Yes, it went for 4 weeks, they did an U/S...bubs was perfect and bleeding looked as if it was from implantation... I m/c at 3 months BUT that was NOT because of the bleeding.. I also spotted with DD. I think some women just spot........for some reason....don't know why.

Maybe ask your Dr for an U/S so you know everything is ok!?!

Goodluck...am sure bubs is fine!!!

If you look in the yellow pgs under pregnancy, there will be various helplines you can ring - I found the one I rang to be great  They know lots about early pregnancy and they can tell you what to watch out for etc.

I know how worrying this feels so I hope it all turns out ok :hugs:

My midwfie told me that it is common to get spotting every 4 weeks, eg 4, 8, 16 etc as the body remembers when you would have had AF. Some women even get a light period and don't know they are PG.
Even so, would be a good idea to get it all checked out.
Good luck :fingerscrossed:

Thanks Everyone. I went to the doctor today morning. I am going for the ultrasound in the afternoon. Just to make sure:fingerscrossed:

I am hoping for the best!! She did a urine test and it is certainly not an infection. Dunno what it is. She has asked me to take off from work for the next two days just to take rest and take it easy...

Bub-Hub is what satisfies me after listening to others who have had what I am going thru....

Good Luck with your scan:fingerscrossed: everthing will be fine

It's so hard not to worry, I worried myself sick everytime I saw any bleeding. I never found out the cause of mine - they called it "incidental bleeding"

Let us know how you go :hugs:

Well I got my ultrasound result and the news is not good. They say that the sac and the embroyo are not of the same size suggesting irregualrity. The doctor has done my blood tests and will do another one on Saturday. If the pregnancy hormones are risisng, then all is well otherwise it means that either I will miscarry naturally or they would have to perfom a "curate" whatever that means. I am so low, I wanted to keep this baby, it is my first.. and we palnned it after 6 years of marriage, now I am like WHY ME!!!

Oh hun, big :hugs: to you, not the news that you wanted to hear. But nature has a way of deciding what is what, so try not to stress too much and get plenty of rest before saturday. Let's hope that it is a false alarm :fingerscrossed:

Hun :hugs: :hugs:

You know, don't wanna get your hopes up but Drs have a way of giving you the worst possible news and not the best news IYKWIM. I've heard of a few people being told this only to go on with a successful pgy. If the baby is fine, it needs you to not be stressed!!! :fingerscrossed: BT on Sat will show what you want.

We are here for you whatever the outcome!

Hi Girls,

I have been bleeding now for nearly 6 days. They are not sure what is happening to me. I am bleeding quite heavily, almost like a period with a lot of clotting. I did rush myself off to emergency at Casey hospital and they did an emergency ultra sound at 6wks and 2 days they dated me and i had a foetal heartbeat. I have to have another scan next week to see if the baby is still ok as i am still bleeding. My bloods all came back ok and i seem to get a lot of pain towards evening and cramping too. I put this down to wind and i just take myself off to bed. It is a very worrying time and i know that a lot of women bleed during pregnancy but i can't help but to worry and am hoping that when i have that scan again next week all will be ok.

I have done a lot of reading and now am just sitting pretty waiting to see what will happen and praying, praying and praying some more.

HAs anyone else expereinced heavy bleeding during preganancy (1st trimester) and gone on to have a viable and successful pregnancy?

I guess i just need some reasurrance that things are going to be ok. I also have a smaller sac than normal too, but the ultrasound lady said that everything else is fantastic, the yolk and all around the sac is a very good size, just the sac is smaller than normal, and no one can tell me what that means either!!!! Anyone else had a small sac and had a normal pregnancy.

Thanks for answering my questions and keep your fingers crossed for me.:fingerscrossed:

Kate

Hi there allalone,

I had bleeding in the early stages of my pregnancy so I know just how scary it can be. I bled for 10 days and was told by my GP that she thought that I had miscarried... I was sent off for an ultrasound and it didn't show anything - so I freaked out. I still felt ok and went back again and had a second ultrasound 10 days later - and there was a little heartbeat!

It was a pretty anxious time and its hard not too worry about it, but you have to just accept that you cant control what is going on and your body will do whats best.

I had so much support on bub hub and read all about so many others who had bleeding etc in the 1st trimester - and doctors have told us all different horrible things but so many of us also have gone on to have viable pregnancies... as I said your body will sort itself out.

Fingers crossed that it all works out ok for you :fingerscrossed:

katyjoy76 - same for you too :fingerscrossed: Let us know how it all goes.

thanks eagerly waiting, i will let you all know how i go on.

Bleeding is finally slowing and stopping but i still have symptoms of being pregnant so i am crossing EVERYTHING!!!!!!

Staying positive and feeling ok, taking it easy and resting has helped, it seems when i exhert myself the bleeding gets heavier or starts again. So lets all stay positive cause like you Eagerly i had a heartbeat so i am very posiitve but still anxious.

Thanks for your support.

Hi girls,

Firstly thanks for all your support and advice. I had another scan today as i just couldn't settle and needed to know why i was bleeding so much. It was confirmed that even though i had a foetal heartbeat last week there was nothing there this week. I feel quite relieved as i always knew somthing wasn't right and that i would probably mc, since bleeding when youre prg isn't really supposed to happen, not the amount and duration i have had. the ultrasound man also found polisistic ovaris, now whether or not that had anything to do with the mc i don't know as i don't visit my GP till tomorrow.

Thanks again girls and good luck with your pregnancies.

Kate
