how wide? I just bought one for about $80 - and it is a normal door width, but then has two extra panels that add on to go wider (145cm).

We ordered ours online from dealsdirect. They were the only place that I could find selling them big enough for what we needed :)

Yep - that's where mine came from.

Thanks ladies!!
Yeah, the one I am looking at is on Deals Direct - $79.95?
Just wondering if it IS a good one? Just scared of buying it and it being a heap of junk!

Thanks again for your time!

We love it! It is really sturdy and open and closes easily (for us, not DS).

My only issue with it is that I had expected sort of a telescoping width, so it could fit a larger than average gap between walls, but the gate on it's own was too small, and adding one panel made it too big, so we've used it elsewhere instead.

If you tell me what your gap is, I can see if it will definitely fit with one or both panels by measuring it against mine here if you like. PM me in case I don't get back to read the thread.

Our gap is 150/155 cm....

Won't fit. :(

The gate on it's own is 68.5cm, each extension adds another 31cm, so you end up with it being 130.5cm. The wind out bits on each end (for finetuning the fit and holding it in place) go to a maximum of 8.5cm each, so even at maximum extension is will only fit up to 147.5cm.

What you could possibly do is place a plank at each end flush with the wall to narrow the gap. The gate holds with really good pressure so it should hold the planks safely in place.

Have you thought about a retractable gate - we got one, also from Deals Direct. It can fit any size gap up to quite a wide space (sorry, can't remember the maximum measurement). We really like ours :)
