my dd is in cloth nappies during the day. because she is a heavy wetter i still use a disposable on her at night. i would like to switch completely over to cloth and i was wondering what would be the best night nappy to use as she sleeps for about 10 hours.

I generally use a premium fleece MissyMoo pocket nappy stuffed with a Greens Large Hemparoo and a Greens microfibre. It does the trick for my DD. She does end up with a big bubble butt when wearing them but as she sleeps for up to 12 to 14 hours in it and the bulkiness doesnt seem to worry her. I have also used a basic fleece pocket with the same stuffing and they work well too.

I have a sandman and a vbsn that i love but my BB with a bamboo booster work fine too.
The most important thing is a great cover!!!!
I use a large wool Bubba J.
We tried cloth over night last night for the first time, here;s how it went:
Put Hugh's Babybeehinds hemp nappy on at 7.30pm, with the 2 included boosters plus a bamboo booster and a PUL cover. Topped him up then put him in his cot at 7.50pm. He started stirring at 4.45am and I got him up at 5am for a feed. The cover and outside of the nappy were dry.
PS this is his normal sleeping pattern in disposables, so he woke to feed, not cause he was wet.
LOL - I think you are asking a group of people who adore GreenKids Nappies. I think they are great, but I only had about 6 months success out of them as a night nappy. Great day nappy though.
Some I have used and can recommend
*Very Baby Simply Nights by Lori (www.ericanappies.com.au)
*Baby BeeHinds hemp (+ a bamboo booster) (www.babybeehinds.com.au)
*Baby BeeHinds bamboo
*Any hemp fitted nappy with a bamboo fold up available from babybeehinds.com.au and cutetooshies.com.au
* I have heard good things about the sandman (www.ozbaby.com.au)
I can highly recommend getting a few bamboo fold ups. Not only can they be used in pocket nappies, and as boosters for fitted nappies at night, but they can also be used to boost your terry squares to get a little bit more time out of them during the day.
And I have incredibly great success using WOOL covers overnight, and a lot of people would support this suggestion. It doesn't make sense until you try it, and work out a way for it to work best for you. Hand knitted (8 ply +) and wool fabric covers work best. And they need to be lanolised about once a month, give or take a few weeks, but they are brilliant.
When I use extra boosters to what the nappy comes with, say a BeeHinds, I put the nappy on and put the booster folded between the nappy (done up) and the cover (so the cover essentially holds the booster on) this stops the nappy from having too much bulk in it to do up properly.
Good luck!
eta. PS - Kazza, that's great news! I have heard a lot of people switch from disposables to cloth overnight and have wonderful results. Yippeee for you! ;)

I use the Greens dreamytimes which are no longer available unless you get them second hand or during a special release like on Ozebaby.
Its a polar fleece nappy which allows the nappy to breath overnite & it evapourates alot of the wetness similar to a wool cover ( wool being better of course ! ) i then use a large hemp insert wrapped around a microfibre insert & this last 13hrs with DS being a really really heavy wetter !
Sandras also had a similar nappy but she isnt currently open due to waiting on fabric sooo yeah heh :o
Im also getting my mum to knit me up some woollen soakers to see how they go !

I use one of these too, I got it off ebay for $5 :smiliedance: No idea how I managed to get it that cheap but hey, I'm not complaining :D It's fantastic, I stuff it with hemp (out of one of my peapods) with some microfibre on top and this lasts DD (9mths) at least 14hrs...longer if DH gets up to the kids coz he hates changing nappies
