Westmead / Blacktown

[Just Add Water]

I am moving to Glenwood in a few weeks and will need to transfer to one of these hospitals. I'm unsure which catchment area I'm in (and waiting for calls to be returned) but wanting to know what others thought of either hospital.

I haven't birthed in blacktown but I have worked there on postnatal

My biggest yuck about it is that there are 4 bathrooms that are not in the rooms but in the hallway which I personally think is a massive pain with 30 women with babies having to leave their rooms to getto a toilet in the hallway but that's just me

the staff were all good, some better than others but you get that anywhere and they have the birthcentre and the option of midwifery led care so you can go home faster
it's clean and relativeley new

but to be honest I'm glad I'm not in that catchment i wouldn't personally want to birth there

not saying there's anything drasticly wrong with the place but it wouldn't be my first choice

I actually had both my babies at Blacktown. Couldn't fault it. The staff were fantastic.
