okay hello all

Just thought Id fill you in.

Had my gyno appt today. I was nervous as sh*t! lol but I neednt have been. Gyno was lovely.

He's given me a chart to chart my temps and have a blood test each week to figure out if/when Im ovulating and what fertility drugs to give me.

He said one way or another we will sort it out. The BIGGEST weight lifted off my shoulders when he said that.

Im so excited and now I actually have some kinda hope, I was feeling pretty down about it all but Dr Pullin(gyno) made me feel okay :)

Wooo Hooo! So it all starts now!

Hey im not sure if youve told your story on bubhub before, but are you having problems with your cycles? Have you been TTC for a while?

No problems about all the Q's. I dont mind answering!

Hubby and I have been TTC sinec about January.. only got really serious about it a couple of months ago when we realised it wasnt happening as quickly as we'd thought.

Ive got a history of medical probs, like PCOS, and more recently had CIN3 removed from my cervix. Was getting very worried with my unhealthy past so my GP referred me to the gyno, hence where the story up there ^^^^^ starts.

Did that affect your TTC? well did the dr say, cos i also had that done about 2 years ago

he didnt really say either way today. Although when I actually had it done about 12 months ago he said it shouldnt effect me later when I wanted to TTC.

How long have you been TTC?

since oct 2005 :( there were two months in there we werent really trying, one in mar, not sure really why, and last month, cos the dr wanted me to be on the pill to help my suspected PCOS, i didnt want to really be on it, so i stopped taking it. And i have myself convinced from the research i have been doing that, the hormones that are abnormal for me, indicating poss PCOS, are due to being overweight. I dont have any cysts on my ovaries. So i know if i lose weight things will improve, my cycles arent really regular, as in how long they are, but a i do get a period every month, so it cant be too bad, i am going to use OPKs this cycle, to see if that helps, i am also using fertility friend to help chart my cycle. phew, this TTC business is hard work.

go to www.fertilityfriend.com you can enter your temps there, its a free membership, although you can pay for VIP features on it. What else are you doing to help you TTC? Your DP on zinc? thats ment to help

hubby on zinc? Ive not heard of that, but Im on folic acid.

I made the gyno laugh.. I asked him where do I have to put the thermometre.. lmao he laughed and said "in your mouth silly" lol

Im guessing you've seeked specialist advice ?

Hi there. Just want to let you know that having CIN3 removed didnt affect me falling pregnant. I had it removed in november last year and fell pregnant basically as soon as I was given the all clear at my 6 week post op check.

Doula, after I had DD I was overweight and it completely stuffed up my cycles, to the point where I was lucky to get AF every 4-6 months. Once I started losing the excess weight my cycles became SOOOO regular I could set my watch to them. Dont give up hope of falling pregnant but give yourself a better chance by losing a couple of kg's. I hope I havent offended you at all. There is research out there somewhere that says being in a healthier weight range will make TTC easier as well as once you have conceived you are more likely to have a healthier pregnancy with less likelihood of complications such as high blood pressure, gestational diabetes etc.
I just want to wish you both goodluck on your journey of TTC.

Mel

Doula do you know if you are actually ovulating? You can still have regular bleeds and not be ovulating... Have you had this tested?

Good luck to you both! :fingerscrossed:

i am so not offended, i do know i need to lose weight, and i have been trying to, but it is very hard, i am getting better with my exercising tho.

I dont take my temp orally :o vaginally is ment to be better according to fertility friend, cos then you get less fluctuations.

Well Nicole, i dont know for sure i am ovulating, i have been going by CP and CM, i was trying not to think about the possibilty of not ovulating, as that scares me immensly, but i do know its possible i am not oing :gloomy:
I will give OPKs a go this cycle, and see how i go with that, my DF and i agreed we would keep trying until the end of the year, and if not pg, then it will be full steam ahead to confirm everything is working right.

I only have been to the GP in Jan this year, who did the BTs and send me for the u/s, he gave me a referal to a specialist, but i havent made an appointment yet.

I know deep down, that i wont prob get pg without losing weight *sigh* its been very hard to admit that to myself, but the realisation just came to be properly right now, i have thought of it before, but not been able to fully admit it to myself.

I am 163cm tall and weigh 105kg, now i dont "feel" extremelly fat, i know i am overweight, but i am pretty happy with myself overall, but i know to get a baby i have to lose it.

Doula (extremely sorry  princ3ssah, dont mean to take over your thread!)
is Metformin and possibly Clomid an option for you? I understand you do want to wait a bit... but dont be scared of not ovulating, i wasnt but now i did for the first time (ever really, except perhaps when i was 14 before I went on the pill!) on Clomid... not ovulating will just mean your hormones need a kick in the right direction and there are pretty harmless drugs that can help do that!

Yes, it would be better for your overall health to loose weight however many overweight people still get pregnant so dont loose all hope. :fingerscrossed:

And just because you are a healthy weight doesnt mean you wont have problems! I am 165cm and weigh 65kg, my sisters are around the same height but weigh less than me...

Hey Doula i dont think the weight is an issue as long as you are healthy...

I until i got married hehe (everyones excuse) i was 165cm and 47kg to me that isnt healthy either! Im now closer to 60 which is much better.

My sister was 51kg 9 months pregnant she looked horrible......

I hope you can get to where you need to be .....:hugs:

yeah Bel it is an issue, well at least for me anyway. The hormones that suggest PCOS, are due to being overweight, i have researched it throughly, and i know if i lose weight, my cycles will become more regular, and if indeed i am not ovulating, it will kickstart that, even if its only 10-15% of my body weight.

Things like this are hard to admit to yourself but its got to be done.

SO SORRY FOR HIJACKING THIS THREAD AMY :o please forgive me

Amy.... Our puppies and bubs can grow up together...... Doula do you have a puppy?

Its almost home time...... I wont have this luxury next week at my new job i may actually have to work....
