Hi everyone.

Out of curiosity; for those of you ladies who have had successful surrogacy over in India, how do u actually decide how many embies to transfer and how many surrogates to use? Sorry if this is a very silly question.

We only have 5 embies and no options for more as I've had a radical hysterectomy due to cancer ... and we want to try to avoid multiple pregnancies if we can ... sounds silly, but we are just not in the position to have more than 2 bubs at a time , maximum. ( even though we desperately want a family) :valentine:

Please comment if you've had some experience in this.
Thank you very much.

We sent 4 embryos over and transferred 2 and ended up with twin pregnancy :hugs:It wasn't our intention as we didn't think it would work first go and both embryos

Do the clinics give you the option of having 2 surrogates and transferring 1 embryo to each in the hope of increasing your chances of 2 healthy babies if wanting twins?

I am concerned about the health and small size of the Indian surrogates as well as the problems associated with premature babies born in India if a surrogate carries twins.

I know Drs in Australia would suggest transferring 2 embryos if a frozen cycle and 1 only if a fresh cycle under a certain age.

I am not comfortable with the Indian clinics wanting to transfer 4 or 5 embryos per cycle and then reducing down to 2.

Yes of course this is an option - whatever you want as money talks and you just pay for 2 surrogates.

just a word for anyone using a surrogate in India and embryo transfers.

I donated in May to a couple who used a surrogate over there and i produced 8 eggs that all went onto embryo stage.

THEY PUT ALL 8 INTO THE SURROGATE!!!

even after i had warned them that i produce twins ( 1 have 3 sets so far!).

thank god only 1 took and the surrogate is pregnant (not bad considering i am 40) but miscarried 2 weeks ago.

All i am saying is to be VERY SPECIFIC with the clinic and doctors you go through.
