My daughter is 10 months old and im not sure how to stop the 10.30 dreamfeed... grace has a bottle at 7 b4 bed and she stirs at 10.30 for another then sleeps threw till the morning! i have tried to just stop giving it to her at 10.30 but she wakes at around 3 screaming for it.
Any advice?will she grow out of it or do i have to put up with the screaming?

hi janna
well you can either make the dreamfeed everyday half an hour earlier or wait for the 3am scream and only offer water...
iīd prefer the first option, just because i canīt hear them scream...:)
hope this helps...and works :)

Is there a particular reason why you want to stop the 1030 feed? I'm sure my DS was still having one overnight feed at that age (memory is foggy). If it's not a big issue I'd keep giving it to her, she'll stop when she's ready.
I'd just be grateful that she wants it at 1030pm and not at 3am! :)

I agree with 3bubsmum.
Try feeding her at 10.15pm instead. Or try 1/2 an hr incriments, so try 10pm. Do that for a few nights(say about 5 nights in a row). The bring it back some more again...so do 10pm or 9.45pm for another 5 nights. Till you've worked your way back to the last feed at 7pm that you give her.
When you start offering the 10.30pm close to her 7pm feed: example- feed at 7pm put to bed. Then feed again at 7.30. Do that for 5 nights. She should eventually not drink any of it. On the 6th night, don't offer her a bottle at all. You are retraining her metabolism by doing this. Cutting it out altogther and listening to the screaming- probably isn't the easiest way for you (or bubs).
You will find that most CHN, and the like, would say that by 10months they shouldn't need a dreamfeed any longer. I know tresillian say they don't need it at 10 months.
Hope i've helped.

I think she will eventually not take it....my DD is only 6 months old and I used to wait up all night to give her that dream feed at 10.30pm and she would gradually drink less and less of it. One night I decided, right thats it no more feeds at night. She does still wake on occasion but its other issues...the dreaded dummy...all I have to do is replace that and she sleeps again. So, like the others said, it will happen and you can help it along too with the timing.....good luck!
