View Full Version : A little concerned
DD is now 10 days old and 2 nights ago we noticed she had a pretty severe twitch. I have since noticed it yesterday and today as well. It's more then just a reflex twitch (morro reflex I think that is) and seems to happen as she sleeps, she twitches both arms. The first time, it went for about 3 minutes before we picked her up, and when we held one of her hands, she started up with one arm and one leg. Asked the home theraputics lady about it and she said not completely abnormal, but to keep an eye on it. Dh went on line and we've decided it's not convulsions because it doesn't concern the head
Can anyone fill us in?????? Do you think we should see the paediatrician a little early or just see what happens? any advice would be greatly welcomed
I think you should see the paed, better to be safe than sorry IMO.
If it is nothing then you can put your mind at ease, but if it is something to worry about it is better to know sooner rather than later incase any intervention is needed (meds etc)
Hope everything is alright. I'm sure it's fine but I would get it checked by a paed asap.

Does she only do it when she is sleeping? My bub does it too... when she is asleep .. it started when she was 5 days old, I was told that it is just her dreaming! I dont know if that is the case, but I have been told not to worry about it. I have noticed that she does it more if she is not swaddled, and saying that doesnt do it as much as she did in the very early days.

I was told some of the little quivers and things babies do are because their nervous system is still developing.
But you should talk to your Dr and Pead about it, just in case. If there is anything to worry about they will know and you can get it sorted out. :)
Hugs to you!! :hugs:
Thanks guys....it is only when sleeping LP so I figured it may be just related to dreaming, but just not sure. My DH went online and it taled about the neuralogical and nervous systems settling like you said Mischief, so hopefully that's all:fingerscrossed:
