Gateway bridge horror???

My dad just came over & told me that he was driving past the gateway bridge & seen a scene going on so he pulled over & asked what was going on and apparently someone was walking across the bridge & got hit by a car or truck. Has anyone heard anything of this? :eek:
I dont have full details but how tragic! Even for the person who hit them. Isnt it illegal to walk across that bridge??

I know someone who once hit a guy who was stumbling across a highway late at night in pouring rain!! Thankfully he was able to slow down to 50k or so, but still nasty!! What are these ppl thinking!!

Yeah, it was on the news tonight...

apparently he got hit just south of the bridge, by a big B double truck (biggun!)

they didn't know why he was on the highway, but they think he just got out of his car. The truck driver didn't know he hit him, until the cars around him pulled him up..

I can believe that though. I have seen a car run into the side of a truck and I don't think the truck knew what was happening.....

I have been hit by a car before, but it wasn't too bader an injury. I was lucky. AND I was walking across the road at the lights and with a green man when someone turned the corner. She stopped and asked if i wanted her to take me to the hospital, but I not so politely said no....... I was able to get up and run home!!!

OMG i didnt hear about this... I must have missed in on the news. I saw something on the news that happened near the tolls, was this what it was???

What I heard this morning is that the truck dingedhis car, so they swapped details, the trucky got back into his car and when he drove off he hit the guy by accident! :eek:

i'm not exactly sure, but i heard the 2 etoll lanes and the 2 manual lanes had been closed for hours due to whatever happened..... friends of mine got stuck on the bridge for over 6 hours due to traffic not being able to go anywhere for so long.......... i too unfortunately missed the news, so i didnt get to hear exactly what happened.

I just heard that the gateway is shut again because thier is a fire and because of the smoke there is no visibility so they have had to close it off :no:
