On google today and found out that a place in victoria perform abortion up to 28 weeks, this horrified me as did reading the process. I know where im posting this isnt probably the right place but i dont know where to post, but feel i need to talk or share. I understand some terminations are performed this late due to abnormalties but im in shock that those that have a healthy baby and just leave it that late. Im not trying to offend anyone or anything.

Late term abortions are very few and far between. After a certain date women have to go before a panel, which must be humiliating and awfuly difficult. I doubt it is ever a decision that is made lightly and is extremely heartbreaking for most women.

Women should allways have bodily autonomy and access to safe legal abortion, the alternative is quite horrifying.

the law changed in victoria last in october 2008 so that babies can now be aborted at any stage up until birth. After 26 (?) weeks it requires the approval of two doctors though it should be noted that more than two doctors work at an abortion clinic.

Im not saying abortion is wrong i just wish for the unfortunate women that it could be an earlier gestation i realise there are reason its done so late, i guess i should of stayed off google and some of the stories i read :-(

There is alot of of misinformation and scaremongering going on by pro life groups. It can be difficult to read some of the things, however much of what is out there is completely false.

Yeah I was coerced into an abortion when I was 15 and became very passionate about the issue esp when the law was being changed but it is a topic filled with so much sadness and google is definitely the enemy. I try to avoid it as much as possible, it is just too depressing
