I have a new partner and am a little out of touch with the whole thing, but I can cook, and was thinking that men love nothing more than to eat!

But.... I am stuck for ideas...

Anyone know what to make someone to impress them? He will eat just about anything.

Steak with mushroom gravy? Lasagne?

If I'm impressing DF, I either do creamy chicken and mushroom pasta or nachos!

I don't think many can go past a roast lamb.

It's actually on our menu tonight. Yum!

Good luck :chef:

How to impress a man? Now...let's see if I can remember that far back!
As far as I can remember men love steak so you could buy a couple of pieces of eye fillet (or scotch, it's a little fattier but cheaper) and make filet mignon for him.
Wrap the fillet in a rasher of bacon using a toothpick to keep it in place.
Make sure your pan is really hot before you put the steak on and make sure you ask him how he likes his steak done. An easy way to test is;
Put your thumb to the tip of your first finger and then with your other hand/finger touch the fleshy bit under your thumb - that sponginess is rare.
Middle finger to the thumb - medium rare
Ring finger to the thumb - medium
Pinky finger to the thumb - well done.
When you touch the steak with your tongs etc you'll be able to tell how the steak is by comparing it with the finger/thumb test.
Make sure you let the steak sit on the pan and when you see blood rising that's when you turn it over - don't buggerise around with it by turning it over time and time again otherwise it'll be tough.
When you've cooked the steaks let them sit and rest while you make up some mushroom gravy - olive oil, finely chopped onions - fry until they soften, then add mushrooms, gravox/water mix and a little curry. Lastly add a little cream. You could also fry some supermarket bought hashbrowns for the steak to sit on so all of the juices soak into the hashbrown. A salad is an easy side dish to have and goes nicely with steak. Roasting potatoes with a little garlic, olive oil and rosemary is another easy thing to do leaving you time to concentrate on the steak.
Good luck!

i saw on oprah i think a pasta recipe that the chef claims is guarenteed to get you a marriage proposal. cant remember it tho and maybe its too soon for that lol:D

Well that recipe has me intrigued...I don't necessarily want a marriage proposal but an increase on my credit card would be good!!
This is from the Oprah website and it's called...
"You won't be single for long" Vodka Cream Pasta (http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/food/recipes/food_20060228_pasta.jhtml)

Id make cheese on toast

No seriously, this is what men want! I read this book called "Why Men Marry *****es" - A Woman's Guide to Winning Her Man's Heart. Apparently, if you work too hard to impress a guy he gets put off. Tell him you were too busy that day to cook and go out to eat instead. Im serious.

I don't think men are that different to women...
we all like to feel special and know that someone's gone to a bit of trouble and effort in making us feel as though we're important.
