I love the Gum Nut Babies books too :goodvibes:
Wombat Stew is a good one too...as is Blinky Bill! Oh & Hairy McLairy From Donaldson's Dairy!!!
One of my faves would have to be Banjo Paterson's "The Animals Noah Forgot" :)
I could go on all day!
'Wombat Stew, Wombat Stew, ooey-gooey yummy chewy, Wombat Stew' Ohhh brings back memories!
I chose Possum Magic out of your list. I still have my copy from when I was little and read it to DS :)
I'd have to say "Time for Bed"
And I do love the Hairy McLary books - our favourites are Hairy mcClary and Zachary Quack, and the one about Schnitzel von Krumm. But I think they are officially Kiwi books!

The magic pudding by Norman lindsay. :) (I am even getting married at his art gallery, might have to get a nice snap next to the magic pudding statue;))
But seeing as I voted before I saw it said modern, I would have to say "Where is the green sheep?"

I love Alison Lesters books. Magic Beach is just beautiful. Dd loves it too and it always sends her to sleep which is a bonus!
Love Time for bed. DS and I had it memorised by the time he was 12 months old. He tells it to his teddies word for word, it's so cute :bee:
Sofia used to kiss the little girl at the end of Time for Bed as part of her bedtime routine :p

I just read a cute book called "come by chance" which I'm pretty sure was written by an Australian.I was facinated to read in the back of the book that it was originally printed in 1988.. and reprinted in 2009. Its got awesome drawings and a simple but beautiful message :)

We have a book called 'teddys night lost in the bush'. I have no idea how old it is but it uses very old (very australian) phrases and I LOVE IT. Its also VERY long for DDs age but I still keep reading it to her :D
