Bsl all over the place

Quick question... My bsl are becoming all over the place Evan tho I'm eating the same thing everyday....... One day I'll get high reading after lunch then next day I'll eat the same thing and get a low reading..... I have appt thurs with diabetes dr but was just wondering what they will do will they put me on insulin btw I'm 35 weeks along

Hi mum22boys.

Are you testing at the same time after eating, eating nothing in that 2 hours and washing your hands before testing?

I forgot to wash my hands before hand the other day and I got a reading of 11 something!! EEk! Then i washed my hands and got a reading of 4.3 so it was a bit crazy!

I'm not sure what your Doc will do. I hope it all works out!

I know what that is like, what a pain!! I agree with the washing hands, I once got a reading of 12 and then realised that I had just cut up apples for my kids lunches, oops.

I had the same thing, would eat the same each day for lunch and my readings were all over the place. Same at tea time, I simply could not eat any carbs or I would get a high reading, sometimes I would eat what should have been perfectly fine but woudl get an abnormally high reading. It drove me crazy, made me feel like I was doing something wrong and just couldn't eat anything right. I ended up being put on insulin when i was about 32 weeks, just once a day until the last week or so when it got up to 3 times a day. I hated the thought of going on insulin but it really was for the best. It did mean that I could eat a bit more normally (I could eat a piece of soy/linseed bread with tea or an apple with lunch) without worrying about what it will do to my BSL.
