Awful day yesterday with 5 month old bubby - she has never been a ravenous feeder, well actually sometimes she is like clockwork and other times (most of the time) she doesn't really demand feed at all, Mummy just sticks her boob in her mouth and she goes 'oh, ok is it that time again, I guess I am a bit hungry!). Anyway yesterday bubby decided that after an (approx) 9am feed, she didn't want anything else until nearly 3pm!! This caused much anxiety for mummy and her boobs - do I express or not - chances are that if I express now she will suddenly be ravenous and I will have expressed too much. If I don't express my milk production seems to really slow down.

Does anyone else have the problem of a really quick decrease in milk production when their baby has a smaller feed or skips one?

As with other threads I know it is near impossible and heartbreaking to try to make a baby feed, but it is equally distressing to think that when she does decide to feed, it will be less than she wants.

I realise I am being slightly neurotic here, one bad feed every few days it not evidence that the baby is malnourished or not growing, but I am just really struggling to get over this feeding thing (especially when I was advised some time ago (baby approx 3.5mnths) by a CYH nurse to feed every four hours which definitely did decrease my milk production!)

Help please

Maybe its teeth?!!

Ella does that for a few days every time a tooth comes.

Dont stress too much. When she's hungry she'll eat!
