I thought I'd mention this becuase there are still doctors out there who refuse to believe a child could have this intolerance - it is to salicylates, amines, preservatives (natural and added) and sulfates.
Common signs are tierdness, argumentativeness, hypo activity and temper tantrums.
It could be worth checking out, here are some of the symptoms and heaps of info on it. http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/
So true!! re some doctors being sceptical about this.
However, luckily, not all are - and the Department of Clinical immunology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney offers the Elimination Diet and info if anyone is interested. They will post the booklets to your doctor or dietitian if you require them!
cheers

We go to the RPA allergy clinic too which is great :) there soooo helpful. Our sons been on the elimination diet since he was 7months old-but as he had just started solids we didnt have to elimanate much LOL :D
His now just over 13 months and we still follow the low salicylite (sp) thingy diet.
Its been great - no more eczema, sleepless nights, crying fits, bleeding body parts from where his scratched himself etc etc. Were going back next month for a another pric test and an up date on what to start introducing but I'll check out that website for some ideas, thanks

My son was displaying all of these so I went and bought the book "Fed Up" by Sue Dengate and tried the elimination diet. Turns out this is his temperament! Actually I lie ... he's very sensitive to all fruit except pears; apples, banana's and watermelon in moderation.
Common signs are tierdness, argumentativeness, hypo activity and temper tantrums.
That said though, we are still very careful about what he eats and quite often use recipes from the book as I do believe it makes a difference.
