hi, we are trying to get pregnant and have just found issue with my periods. I seemed to be having two sessions a month and an ultrasound revealed I have a blood clot in my cervix.

I have to wait 2 weeks for another US to check if its still there and if so go to a gyno. My doctor is not sure what they gyno will do but it seems she might put me under general anesthetic and "scrape" it out.

Has anyone ever had this? I can't find any info on the net. I realise its not really something to be too worried about but I'd like to find out more if I can.

thanks
liz

I am no doctor but from what you described it is possible that the gyno will do a laprosocopy (sp??)... Nothing to scary, it is a simple day procedure where you will go under GA and be a bit sore for a week or so... I had one done last year and the procedure was on a wednesday and i was back at work on the monday...but as with everything, recovery can be different for everybody!

If you are looking for a good gyno in east maitland, Dr Greg Mcgrath is fantastic (PM if you wish to get his details)! I used to be all hung up on only seeing female doctors for that kind of thing but the lack of female doctors here in Newcastle saw me seeing a male doctor and he made me feel completely at ease! It was also a bonus that he is an OB as well so he was then able to see me during my pregnancy!

Good luck, hope all goes well!!
