Hello

Well DF & I have been engaged since end of 2006 and we have finally set a date :yelclap: We didn't really care much about it before. But we have booked both the church and the reception so it's definetely happening for 19th March 2011 :smiliedance:

Anyone else getting hitched in '11?? :D

ME!!! I am! :D

DF and I are planning our wedding for 27th of August. The same weekend we got engaged!

We haven't booked the church or reception venue yet as we are trying to pay off our credit card debt first!

But we have it all planned and have a budget for the wedding too!

Now we just have to figure out where we want to go for the honeymoon! :)

Oooh exciting!! And I love how your getting married the same weekend you got engaged.

What's your budget for your wedding? And where were you thinking for your honeymoon?

We are hoping the Whitsundays for ours, if our budget allows.

We are hoping the Whitsundays for ours, if our budget allows.

Our budget is $6500 but that doesn't include rings or honeymoon.

I'm planning on getting my dress off Ebay/online so that helps keep costs down and we are only having 50 guests. :D

We are thinking Thailand or Langkawi in Malaysia or Fiji or Vanuatu. We've really narrowed it down! NOT! We think we will go to a travel agent and go with the best deal!

 I am getting my dress online too, I found a really good wholesale place, with dresses no more then $500, most are around the $200 mark, and they are brand new, made to fit your size and beeeauiful!! I am having so much trouble choosing one!!

 about the honeymoon. I'm sure you's will figure it out soon enough. And you've got a good list of places to choose from :D

Our budget it $10,000 atm, including everything. But that's the money we have now, and we'll probably just buy all the smaller things on the way.

It's so fun planning it all :yelclap:

Oooh, can you PM me the link? I've found a wholesale website that has the EXACT same dress I found in a store that I fell in love with! It was SO exxy in the store so I forgot about it but it's one tenth of the price on this website! I'm trying to lose weight so I think around Jan, Feb, Mar I will order my dress made to the measurements I am then. And if I lose more weight between then and Aug I'll just have it taken in!

I think ours will end up being about $10K all up too!

What are you doing for invites? Making your own?

Do you have any ideas for the Bon bon's? :)

It really is fun planning it! :D

 I just realised who you were!!! I will tell you on facebook :p I haven't been on bubhub in so long, I have forgotten everyone's usernames!! :(

Yes! Dresses in stores are so expensive!! I know people love spending thousands on their dress, but I just can't, not for something I'm only wearing once, I'd rather spend it on something else

I'm also trying to lose 5kgs, trying to get back to pre-baby weight, well pre-3rd baby weight

As for the invites, I found a website that does them for cheap and they are gorgeous!! Because, well I am shocking for making things, I would screw my invites up. I wish I was crafty but I'm not :( Are you making your own?

No idea about bon bon's yet, how about you?

 I know! It's so hard when people change usernames! I thought I hadn't seen you around for a while!

Even if I had 10's of thousands of $$$ in the bank I don't think I could spend thousands on just the dress! Completely agree that you only wear it once and then thats it! Seems silly to spend thousands! I'd rather spend more on the honeymoon!

Can you link me the invite website on FB too please! :D There is a place in Wacol that has HEAPS of supplies and I was going to make them but if someone can do it for me on the cheap that would be excellent!

We're not sure about bon bons yet either. Friends of ours who are both bakers recently got married and their bon bon was a set of love heart shaped measuring spoons. I thought that was REALLY cute!

Hi ladies,

Well, So far we have

*booked the reception
*booked the place where we are getting married
*booked the celebrant
*ordered the dress (next dress fitting in oct!)
*put the wedding bands on layby
*picked the bridesmaid dresses
*booked the cars
*asked the bridal party to be part of the wedding
*booked the photographer

um I think that's it. Still have a few things to do. Just about everything I thought we WOULDN'T do, we are going to do! If it wasn't for the help of my mum, we would be getting married in the back yard and everyone would be getting a sausage and a bread roll for lunch! lol. I can't understand why people spend like $50k on a wedding though. I can see how they can do it, but don't understand WHY they do it. What has everyone else organised?

Hey everyone,
Congratulations :smiliedance:

We are getting married in 2011.
Original date was; Feb 5th (date we met back in 2005) but surf club has since given us the ar$e....they accidently double booked.
Their next avail date isn't till very late in the year.

So the other date is April 3rd....date DP proposed.
Now we have to work out where to have our reception.

DP has a mixed-up...messed-up family so if he invites his birth Mother, Step mother won't come...& if she doesnt come, alot of her family won't come.....which we totally understand. DP is very close to them all.
My MIL is abit stuffed up & has done many silly, mean things so DP is torn.......so the idea of eloping/honeymoon/family holiday all in one is appealing to him more & more.

Is anyone having a location/overseas wedding?

I'm starting to think we should just have an awesome tapa's/cocktail party then have a private ceremony & go for a family holiday. Cost the same price.

Decision Decisions:confused:

We've got...
- celebrant
- photographerS (2 of them, 2 different friends who are also pro's :D)
- my dress + underwear
- DS' outfit minus shoes
- Asked bridal party
- Maps, so 3/4s of our invites
- Florist
- My shoes
- My ring, and I *think* we've found DF's too

Yet to do - big stuff
- Book ceremony venue!
- DF's suit
- DF's ring
- Flowergirls stuff

We set ours back to April 29th, 2011. It was meant to be next month :( Unfortunately we had a clash with our celebrants availability and our time... so putting it off means I can have everything I want, and that's alright by me :goodvibes:
We *might* be having a pre-reception, or even a big rehearsal dinner and then no reception after, just a night away from the kids and staying in a 5 star hotel in the city, dinner out together, etc :bee:

I'll be married by 26/04/11 if I have to get his mother to drive him to the registry... Have been engaged since Feb 06 had 2 babies, one on the way (due in may lol) but I'll be married even if I'm in labour on the day...

It's not what we were planning and postponed 3 times but dammit I'll be married either before or on my 10year anniversary!!!

Obviously we have other financial obligations with another on the way as we threw everything out in July not thinking we'd have any more...

We are getting married in 2011, it was going to be Feb 2012 but we decided to bring it back. We wanted it to be the 29th of October as that is when we went on our first date but we dont have my stepson that weekend so we are going to have it on the 5th of November.

Am a bit behind on the planing, have found the dress i want on Ebay and know the colors we are having.

Think i have found the perfect venue, going to have a look on the weekend.

Wow been a bit slack with this thread (me, not you guys :)

Well I have now have approx. 12 weeks until I tie the knot.

The things we have done so far:

* Booked Church & priest.. and paid
* Booked Reception, and paid
* Honeymoon booked and paid
* Wedding dress
* Suits
* Bridesmaids, flower girl dresses

Well pretty much all the big stuff is done, we are just organising all the little things now, we are thinking about having a band, but it's so hard to get a quote online so will have to ring around tomorrow, I am just terrified people will be bored!!!

Now that it's getting closer though, I am getting more nervous that things won't go to plan!

Congrats to all the up coming nuptials!!!

We too are getting married in FEB the 26th!!! Not long to go!!!

Think i'm all organised......pfft, I know I far from it!!

I'm having real trouble with music! we're just having a cocktail reception and connecting the laptop to the speakers so I'm having to compile A LOT of music, appropriate music!!! DF is allowed one heavy metal song :p

Mummylicious - I can relate re the screwed up family, DF's is the same, if his mother doesn't come I think my day will be a lot less stressful! She had the nerve to tell some of our guests not to come, ugh, complicated and so frustrating. The last thing you need is people causing problems on YOUR day.

Some of you sound much more organised than me!!EEK! It's been a pain to get stuff done tho with xmas and new years and we're moving house so I'll be cutting it fine I reckon!

Anyone have honey moon plans sorted?

Oh and what about hens nights? Anyone got any suggestions? I'm stuck!

is anyone doing a ritual/s of some sort you know like lighting a uniting candle or combining sand? or something more cultural based and traditional?

DF and I are thinking of doing something like that but not sure exactly what and whether to do it at the ceremony or reception?

Any suggestions?
