Hi Everyone - has anyone experienced this prob? I've been snoring pretty heavily for a few weeks now - my partner & I thought it was funny at first but lately he's said it sounds like I'm having trouble breathing & it's quite scary for him. I'm thinking it's caused by the pressure on my insides by the bub & hopefully all will be resolved in a few weeks when he's due out! My partner works away quite a lot though & so isn't always here to make sure I get thru the night ok! Does anyone have any suggestions/experienced the same?? Thanks Everyone!

Hi Ryansmum!
Ryan is a terrific name don't you think!!!
I had a similar problem in my last trimester as well.. What helped me was sleeping on (what felt and looked like Mt Everest according to my DH) loads of pillows... so basically i was half sitting up!
Good luck for the next few weeks!

Hi
I've always snored :o , but OB did mention that the ONLY time his wife ever snored was while she was pg with each of their 3 children. I think it has something to do with the hormone that causes all your ligaments to relax that extra bit during pg. I'm sure it will go away once your bundle arrives (unlike mine :p )
Cheers

I'm 36 weeks and 4 days and am having the same problem. It so bad, it wakes me up
It started happening around 3 weeks ago. I think it happened with the others too, but I can't remember for sure.
I'm pretty sure it goes away after the baby is born.

I was told I was going to blow the roof off the house! I was very big and snored very very loudly. I was so embarassed! Yeah I was told it was because of pressure on the belly and insides etc. About time we were the ones snoring and they can't sleep dont you think!! lol. :D .

Perfectly normal :D It's just the relaxin and progesterone in your system relaxing all the parts of your body that snore. If that's what it's doing to the top of your body, imagine how stunningly loose your pelvis is. Your baby will be sliding out beautifully!

Yep - normal. I apparently sounded like a chaff cutter when I was pregnant. I used to wake up with an incredibly sore throat.
I'm with the other ladies - this is karmic debt as normally it's our darling 'other halves' providing the midnight entertainment!

I have always snored in the latter part of the last trimester of each pregnancy but it started earlier in this pregnancy. My poor old hubby has not slept in the same bed for SO many weeks & I'm fearful the news headlines are going to read:
"VIRGIN MOTHER GIVES BIRTH TO 3RD BABY!"
He had a laugh but it certainly beats being poked & prodded to shut me up!
I've just this week started using those nasal strips to see if that helps. My snoring is usually from the throat tho, & the instructions said it may take a week to start working. It might be worth a try, but snoring is definately normal during the final weeks - also something to do with all the congestion and extra mucus in your system (sinuses etc). Give the strips a go & see if they work! Good luck!
