Moving from Bris to sunny coast...how to change hospital??

Hi!
I am not sure what I have to do...we are expecting our first bub at the end of october! we currently live on the sunshine coast and are booked in at Nambour general. DF has just taken a job in Brisbane and we are moving in september. (back actually, only moved to coast a year ago for my job)
Does anyone know what we have to do to book into a new hospital, do i have to go to a GP in brisbane for a referral?
I am just a bit confused as my GP automatically booked me into the nambour hosp and now i am on their midwife program. I am also worried that the baby is due in less than 10 weeks time and we are not booked into a bris hosp. I really want to go to the Mater hosp, but have heard it is really busy! :confused:
DF keeps joking that when i go into labour whatever hospital we show up to has to take us...i wish he wasnt so carefree about it!

I was going to transfer 8 days before my due date, I just spoke to the hospital I was with and they were going to make a copy of all my files that I could take to the new hospital too, the GP was going to do the same

Then I called the new hospital and told them so I could make a booking appointment, they were fine with it, they wanted me to do it 2 weeks before my due date so I could get to know them and they could get to know me, but it doesn't always work out that way.
