Does teething effect reflux flaring up? DS1 has just this week gone a bit backwards with his reflux. Fussy with feeds, arching of the back is back, screaming in pain etc. Full of drool though so I'm wondering does teething throw their reflux out fir a while? He is on Losec and was doing so well on it up until this week. Gave him a teething ring yday afternoon and he practically scoffed it!!!
Anyone had any similar experiences???

You bet your bottom dollar it can.
We take 10 million steps backwards when J gets teeth.
Panadole & SM33 for the teeth, mylanta for the reflux & hope it passes soon.

Yep :iagree:and for some reason both my refluxers were/are terrible teethers. My DS2 needed a med increase a couple of months ago due to teething, crawling and a double ear infection occuring all at the same time. What fun!
Good Luck,
Jacqui

Yea it is. SM33 has a numbing agent in it that bonjella doesn't.
I have wisdom teeth coming, tired them both at the same time. SM33 won hands down

That actually really makes sense.
DS has been drooling and showing signs of his teeth moving and yesterday and last night his reflux was really bad. He would only sleep upright on me.
He is also on Losec.

Lisa - it does get better. Trust me, J's first 8 teeth caused mags issues with his reflux. Now his getting molars his back on Zantac twice daily instead of his normal half dose once a day.
Now his older, he can tell us that his mouth is sore or that a food causes him pain.
Dolly steps, you & wee M man will get there.

My two little refluxers mastered the art of unexpected projecticle vomiting while teething. At least one major metre long vomit (sorry TMI) with each tooth. No other associated symptoms and not a bother afterwards.
My Dr told me it was rubbish - but I KNOW the truth. :barf:
