Anyway I though it was good and found it a bit less annoying than a train crash with flames going DOOM DOOM wiLL BE DOOM IF YOu VOTE DOOM!!!
So far this is the BEST election ad I've seen...too bad it didn't make it to TV.

It was on TV... I watched it the first time it was shown on Gruen Nation.
It is an excellent ad. It's just a shame that the greens didn't think of it themselves or it would have been shown regularly. Instead the greens spent all their money on that dodgy blue eyed ad, which made them look more like a drug company than a political party.
Yep I have seen that one  They played it on the TV show "Gruen Nation" which has been fantastic, basically picking apart all the campagin adds leading up to the election including all the ones that are not making it to air.
ETA - Must have poseted at the same time as ^ :)
They couldn't use this one :( because it was made using funds from the ABC they couldn't give it to them as much as they might have wanted to (it was made for a segment called the pitch where ad agencies compete on a theme to sell it the best - it's a segment from the normal gruen transfer which is just about all advertising).
Someone commented on my wall about their terrible policies regarding abortion. I was so close to commenting back but I deleted the comment. *deep breath* narrow minded religious folk

That's a really good ad. It says, "Hey, this is what we stand for, and surely it's not ridiculous or unreasonable!" instead of trashing everyone else.
The Labor and Coalition campaigns are rubbish - both are bagging the other for proposed taxes, for their policies on the "boat people," and whatnot. One even shows an ad with Kevin Rudd with a tear in his eye (it's an anti-Julia ad... not an anti-Labor one).
Such rubbish.
This ad is so simple, and it makes a point. I especially love the part about marriage being about love, not law. Marriage IS about love these days... so that one really makes sense to me. It's said perfectly.

zomg kitten kicker..
And yes, I agree with both of you thoroughly.
The reason I liked it was exactly that, because it was just a simple hey - this is what we stand for, this is what we believe in and this is what we think the Australian people deserve.
None of the hysteria/ train crash/pictures of boats/repetitively saying same julia with flashes of slightly different pictures.
Although, I have also liked the one with a group of women reciting Abbots horrific quotes like the 'I wont be getting cervical vaccine for my daughters, women will never be equals, I'm a giant ar$emunch, etc etc etc one.
The rest, meh. I hate that the reality is that fear is humanities strongest motivator - and insular scared ignorant (and educated smart people can still be ignorant -look at the "boat" people ishew) peeps see pictures of boats and the promise of "I'll get rid of this scary threat and keep your life warm and fuzzy" and go for it.
I just don't think either labor or liberal are offering me anything I think the Australian people deserve in government policy.
