Hi everyone,

I've been getting lots of Braxtons for a while now and in the last week I've been getting false labour pains. The most recent at 2am this morning i woke up and had to take panadol, have a hot shower and put a heat pack on my back for two hours before it subsided.

Am I safe if he does come out now? Or should I say, will he be safe if he comes out now? My due date was the 3rd October but a new date has shown up from my scan this week. Bub is ahead by a week in size so I'm now looking at 25th September if I go by this scan.

I'm happy if he comes out now since he's hurting me something awful every day even if I'm sitting still. My husband is due to go away for four weeks on or just after the 3rd october with his work so we're both wanting him to come out soon as he can participate and give me a hand for the first couple of weeks.

My checkup is tomorrow morning so I will ask my doctor f I am able to bring him out early but in all honesty, I truly think in the next week or so he'll be coming out on his own anyway.

I just want to make sure that he'll be ok if he does come early, in another week I'm going to be deemed full term anyway (37wks) so surely he's ready now??

Hi Ryally

My Ds was born at 36 weeks and is 100% ok NOW......
He did have to spend 10 days in NICU (neo natal intensive care unit) due to respiratory distress and an infection.... but this was not necessarily due to him being pre term as i also had GD (they couldnt exactly tell me why it happened) but it was an AWFUL time and i dont want to go there again !!! :(

Personally i would want bubbas to stay till 38 weeks due to my own experience, but they will come when they want to...... and they will be ok.........

Good luck

I'd prefer to wait till then as well, it's only two weeks away.

Just to add to the mix, I had a call from the hospital this afternoon to let me know that my blood test I had to check my bile had come back higher than normal (I went into hospital last Sunday with horrid itchiness all over that I've had for a few weeks, plus red urine and pale stools). So it's a good thing I've got an apt with the doctor tomorrow morning because now he has to start me on meds. If left untreated this condition can increase the chance of stillborn death by 15%.

I'm going to have a chat with the doc tomorrow still and find out what he thinks I should do.

It's sad in a way cos' i really enjoyed being pregnant with my daughter but this time around it's been more pain than anything. Now this complication and issues in my marriage *sigh*......I want a holiday lol.

Thanks for the advice samsmum, I appreciate it :)

Oh i hope everything goes ok for you....
Let us know how your docs appt goes and what he says....

I know what you mean about the pregnancy thing, i LOVED being pregnant with my son, only drawback was the GD which was diet treated very easily but this time around has been awful with major pelvic problems causing massive pain... i am seeing my doc soon again as they are worried about pre term labour for me again :(

These things will happen i guess.... perhaps we could take a holiday together

Take it easy and i hope to hear from you that all is well

I got BH from 32 weeks with my first, they occurred about every 10-20 minutes, constantly. My son came out healthy at just on 36 weeks.

With my second, they started at 30 weeks and came every 10 minutes until my daughter came out just on 37 weeks.

I'm now 23 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and I can already feel them, at least 4-5 times a day. I actually welcome them as they mean that labour is being prepared for and I'm unlikely to go beyond 38 weeks.

So yes, you're likely to go earlier rather than later and probably not a good idea for you to be alone.

I've been getting strong BH since 24 weeks but not regular till around 33 weeks. Some days I will have them 8 minutes apart for hours and hours and then they just suddenly go away.

I'm 37 weeks and 4 days now and they are happening more often but still no baby. My OB didn't think I'd make it this far because I went into prem labor at 34 weeks and had to have meds to stop it. Since then I have had it happen dozens of times, but it's stopped on it's own. I don't even go to the hospital now, I just time them and if they aren't less than 4 minutes apart, I just wait for them to stop
I saw my OB today and he said, I will see you next Wednesday IF you're still pregnant. I think I'll still be pregnant, he's just getting my hopes up...I wasn't early with the others.

I'm struggling to understand the loving being pregnant thing. I've had a pretty easy time of it, reading some of your postings, and no complications but madam is now 37 weeks and I am SO over the whole experience.

I am a bit confused about due dates though:

the lastest ultrasound says that bub is 35 weeks (but the one before that gave a different due date entirely), fundus measurements suggest 37 weeks, my dates say 38 weeks and the OB/GYN says 36 weeks - has anyone else had this problem??? I know she'll come out when she's ready but i'd like SOME idea of when that might be.
