Hello,

My husband and I recently relocated to Sydney from Adelaide (I am originally from London) and we are currently residing in the Bellevue Hill/Rose Bay area.

We have no Sydney based friends or family and our first baby is due on New Year's Eve therefore I would love to hear from other mums (or expectant mums) who live in the area.

Hi Sarah, it's really great to hear from you. We are here for the forseeable future, a minimum of 4-5 years. How about you? How long have you been in Sydney? What brings you here? How are you finding motherhood?

Ive been here about 2 years but no family here either. I moved here to be with my now hubby and cant see us going back to England any time soon.

Im loving being a new mum...its such a hard job though! I'm lucky if I get 5 minutes to myself :/

Have you been into the city much?
Are you working or just relaxing now awaiting the new addition?

Your little on will be here in time for the summer so it will be lovely weather..not too cold!

I bet your sooo excited! Are you nervous aswell? xxx :)

Hey Sarah,

Wow you were young when you came over, that was such a brave move to make. We came to Oz for my husband's work. We lived in Adelaide for the first 18 months which was great as that's where my hubby is from so I had the support of his family.

I've been into the City a couple of time but that was because we stayed there over a couple of weekends whilst looking for a rental property. I've been to the Rocks, Circular Quay and Manly. I've not had a chance to look around the shops yet as my hubby always manages to steer me away from that area!! ;-).

I'm not working now. I'm just relaxing and nesting until bubs arrives. I am really excited but I'm a little nervous too about what to expect and how I will cope but I guess that's natural for all first time mums. It's all a big learning curve and I am hoping my maternal instincts will guide me in the right direction plus I've got nieces and nephews so I've had a little practice at nappy changing and bottle feeding (but not at 2am in the morning) ;-)

Sounds like you are enjoying motherhood, which is fab. 9 months is a lovely age, they are so cute when they develop a little personality.

Do you work or are you a full time mum?

Nooo im a full time mummy...I cant bare the thought of putting him into day care just yet.

Fortunately I dont have to work...although some times I feel like it would be nice to just for a break lol....Im qualified in fashion design and marketing...such a hard business to break into so for now im happy just being at home with ollie till some thing exciting turns up :)

How old are you lulu? Is that your real name? lol

I know i was very young..I was 20 when I came out here... 23 now going on 30 he he.
How old are you?

Do you fancy meeting up for a walk now that the weather is warming up? rose bay is a lovely area...

Do you ever get over to coogee? My email is ruben_fx@hotmail.com

Hi Sarah & Lulubub...
I would be totally interested in meeting up too. walks or coffee or whatever. :-) My little family has just moved here from Melbourne. Full respect for moving intercountry - i thought interstate was hard!
We've got an 11 month old girl, and live in Coogee. There's some great cafe's... or a nice beach to sit on... good for little ones to play on!

Hi Ali,

It's great to hear from you. I am away next week but could meet you for a coffee or something the following week. I have driven through Coogee once so I am not overly familiar with the area.

Sarah, you mentioned coogee before - are you keen to come along?

Hi Ali,
Sorry for the delayed response. I got back from our week away on Sunday and have no idea where this week has gone!!
Do you fancy coming to Rose Bay for a coffee on Tuesday (14th Sept)? There is a great little cafe called Europan located in the main part of Rose Bay with parking just up the road.
Let me know if you can make it.

Hi girls
I have been living in Bondi for about 2 months now. I moved from the states to be with my partner. I am 19, and had some plans to go to uni and such but then I got pregnant so those plans have been put on hold a few months. I am super excited, but know no one here. My partner works a lot and I only work 3 days a week so I am on my own a bit. Anyway, would love to meet any mums/mums to be in my area, support and convo would be lovely!
Ellen
