I shaved (well DH did) the night before, otherwise they do it st the hospital - I'm sure waxing is fine if you already get waxed (if you never have before maybe don't risk it, in case you have a reaction)
No enema, my OB said they don't do that these days, but take metamucil with you to hospital and take the highest dosage after the operation to avoid any problems!
I arrived about 2 hours early, lots of paperwork and questions, drank a fizzy drink to calm stomach acids down, blood tests, and lots of waiting! We then went down to surgical floor, met medical staff, more questions and blood tests, canular put in, then spinal, then catheter and it all happened so quickly after that!
Good luck :)

Depending on what time of day you are booked in, you may have to fast from midnight the night before (if you are booked in the morning, otherwise it will more than likely be 6am).
I recommend making sure you eat just before you have to begin fasting, as even if you are first on the list you may still not go into theatre at the time they say (my OB was called away to do a vaginal delivery while I was waiting the theatre).
Most hospitals are now telling you not to wax before, as you may get a reaction. This happened to me, so I had to have a strong course of antibiotics to make sure the infection didnt get into my scar (on a side note I didnt learn my lesson, and am having a trial wax in the next week or so to see how I react, and if I have no reaction I will get a second waxing just before I go into have my c/s).
I didnt have an enema, as my ob doesnt make you. But I did find that the morning of my c/s my body seemed to 'know' what was about to happen, and emptied itself anyway (I recommend getting some of the toilet wipes [they are like flushable baby wipes - you find them in the toilet paper section], as going to the toilet so often in a short period of time, can leave things a bit tender).
Once you get taken to your room you will have all sorts of observations taken (bp, heart rate etc), and they may even ask for a urine sample. You will also be given a gown to change into and your partner will be taken away to get their scrubs too.
You may even have your OB and anesthetist come up and check on you (if they have time in between surgeries).

It was recommended to me that you get a wax & do so approx 2 days before so the redness can go down & they said they recommend wax cause there is a less chance of infection from ingrown hairs? (I just shaved & had no issues) but the nurse will do it for you on the day cause they will probably ask to check. I didn't even think about a enema & it's wasn't mentioned to me but my sister in law didn't get one either.
When I arrived I had to sign stuff for the private health insurance and then I was sent to the ward & put in my room. I had to be there at 11am & was booked for 3pm (I went crazy sitting there for the long & without food!) A nurse came in & took my blood pressure, put my name tag on and that was all (be sure to say if your allergic to anything cause they didn't even ask me), she also showed me my gown & ask me to put it on by quarter to 3 & be ready to go. That is pretty much the most of it.
Good luck, it will be great :)

I was booked for c/s but went into labour before hand .. took about 1hr and half to get my organised into my gown and check this and check that. Shave/wax previously but otherwise they do it for you. The whole process is pretty simple, epidural, bottom half goes numb, my blood pressure dropped very low so i had a very meds to bring it back up which made me sick but you tell them any problem and they give u the meds to fix it up. WWork almost instantly. You dont really feel anything except pressure from them pulling out bubs. In the hospital i was in, they gave me a laxative type thing for the 3 days i was in hospital and told me to continue on it for another few days after i left. I didnt really need to. It really isnt all that scary although i was pretty nervous before hand but if all goes how it should, you will be in and out of surgury in no time. Good luck and all the best with bubs xx

I was in hospital already 2 weeks before birth. Just shave above your pubic line. Wax is not necessary unless you really want to.
They had me fasting 8 hours before procedure.
No enema's or anything like that.
Those are the only 2 "preparations" really. Fasting and a shave. If you have an emergency c/s, you dont always get a chance to fast first ;)

No enema's
Talk to the hospital or your ob about shaving. I wax, so was waxed anyway, but at my hospital appointment, they told me that 2 of the obs (including mine) didn't shave anything, where 1 other did. So that isn't 100% these days either.
I was first up in the morning, had to fast from midnight.
