I am 41 and my DH is 48. We both have a teenage daughter from a previous marriage and now we have our beautiful son who took forever to get here! (3 years of TTC)

I would love to have another one so he can have a sibling/playmate and because he is gorgeous and I am loving motherhod second time around.

DH thinks we are lucky to have BS and he is just too old to even think about another one. I agree we are too old but I would love BS to have someone to share his childhood.

It took us so long to fall with him so it might not even happen. I know it would have to happen sooner rather than later.

Is it doable?

PS We are both fit and healthy:)

Why not?

Don't let 'societys norms' dictate when you should stop having kids!! If you want more go for it, if age is your only reason you're silly to not have more :)

As long as you can talk hubby around I say go for it. My son was born 1 month after my 42nd birthday. I had a complication free pregnancy. I don't feel too old but I only have the one to run around after.

You never know how long it might take you to conceive. I had an 8 year ttc history with a previous partner when younger and no success. Then in my forties I had 3 pregnancies within the space of six months (the first of those took 9 months to conceive). Obviously the last one was successful and I am now running around after a 2 year old. No regrets here.

Girlfriend, you're only as old as you feel! If you want another one - go forth and multiply! I'm 41 this year and hoping to have another next year. Pregnancy does not agree with me but motherhood does and so I battle through to achieve the result I want. If you want it bad enough , you can do it. Don't let your age (and 41 is NOT old) get in the way. This is your chance, like me, I've got to get in fast! The window of opportunity is closing I fear. I don't want to get to 50 and say I wish I'd had one more. Leanne :flowerz:

It's up to you... You already that you're both fit and healthy... I don't see any problem about having another baby... Just consult first to your gynecology to give you both more advice....

If you only have the one younger child then I would say yes try for at least one more, I am 40 but I have 11 kids with 6 boys under 7 and I am really tired and my poor dear husband works long hours to support all of us, so I doubt that I will have anymore, I just need a long sleep:sleeping:

Thank you for all your replies and positive comments! :)

I have convinced hubby to stop using contraception so it is now out of our hands and if it is meant to be it is meant to be....:fingerscrossed:

Are you both healthy??? It's up to u of course but for me...

I'm 31 my kids don't have any grandparents I don't have parents or inlaws! Not saying every situation is like that though!!

As long as your fit and healthy age shouldn't be a barrier
