Hi everyone, im Tans sister Erin and im currently ttc cycle #1. I have a couple of queries about Oing as im new to this making a baby business  . I am currently on cd 14 but last week cd 7 i had alot of ewcm so i am wonderind do you think it is possible to O that early in the cycle? Also today i have been getting sharp crampy pains around where my ovaries would be (kinda like af is coming) so i thought maybe today is O day, we have been BDing every 2nd day since cd 7 to try and make sure we catch the eggie but would love to know what you all think.
Thanks sooooo much in anticipation

Hi everyone i know it sounds like Erin knows what she is talking about but its just cos i explained the abbreviations to her. She really would like some advice as to when you think she may O or if she has or just some general advice as to how she can tell and some pointers for her. They have only just started ttc and i know some of you have unfortunately been ttc so you may think she just needs to wait as it can take time, she wasn't meaning to sound impatient or anything she just genuinely wants some advice and people to talk to about it all.
Again thank you all for reading but some replys would be soooo much appreciated please :) :o ;)

Hey Erin and Tan just like to say good luck on ttc and hope you catch that eggie soon:fingerscrossed: .As to oing that early in a cycle yes it can happen but usually your cycles are shorter how long is your cycle?

You should ovulate on day 14 of a 28 day cycle. If your cycle is shorter you will ovulate sooner, if it is longer you will ovulate later. Add or subtract a day for each day it differs from 28 days. Your cervical mucus will become clear and stretchy like egg whites and will be much more than usual, this is when you are most fertile. Some women can feel ovulation as sharp pains on one side or the other(like you described). Other ways to tell would be ovulation predictor kits. You pee on a stick and it tells you neg. or pos., once you get a positve you will ovulate 24 to 48 hours after. Bding every second day is good but I would do it every other or everyday the week of ovulation(don't want to miss it). Oh, and it is possible to ovulate early, even with a 28 day cycle(rarely before 10 days).

Hi - it is definiely possible to o early in your cycle and not everyone has a 14 day luteal phase. Mine can vary from 13-20 days. Temping and charting is a great way to see what your cycles are up to. Good luck :fingerscrossed:

Thanks for the replies, her cycle is usually 28 days i think but this her first cycle off the pill, so she isn't sure if it may change or not. I will pass on the messages to her as she doesn't have a computer but she will be happy to hear from you all  :)

Hi Tan and Erin,

If this is her first cycle off the pill there is a chance that she will have higher levels of CM all month. You'd really need some second method to accurately pin point O-day, as the others have suggested here. bd'ing every second day is a good idea while you work out what your cycles are actually like. most people O between 9 and 16 days before their next AF, (this is your luteal phase - LP) and most peoples LP will stay constant month to month, so a long cycle will mean a long time before o'ing but the same time after o'ing. That said there's always exceptions out there.

Hope at least some of that makes sense to you!
