Hi ladies!
Your help is needed:)
My sister-in-law is organising a baby shower for me, and because I have friends and relatives travelling from all over to share the day with me, I thought it would be nice to have a thankyou/goody bag for them to take home.
There will be games being played, and prizes being given out, I still just thought that it would be nice if everyone got a little something to take home, and I'm so grateful that everyone is giving up their afternoon to spend it with me, that I want to thank them.
So.......question is.......what should I put in the bags? Obviously, I don't want to spend too much money:o
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks for your help girls:smiliedance:

What a nice idea!
You could do little things like:
Bath bombs
Bath sponge
hand creams
bath gels
lindt chocolate balls
etc...
Kinda like a pamper pack.
Oh - and to dress it up you could buy some organza from spotlight and cut out circle shapes. Bundle up the goodies in the middle of the circle and tie with a pretty contrasting ribbon. Non-expensive and really pretty!

Hey
In my bags i gave out lolly milk bottles, lolly teeth, a freddo and a milky way (you know those snack sized ones you get in the fun-bags of about 20?), jelly babies and a lollypop that was in the shape of a little teddy bear.
I also made up thank you cards on the computer they were 7cm x 7cm and they said "thankyou for attending Samantha's Baby Shower" and below that had a picture of a a stalk carrying a baby in a sling. Then i laminated each one :D
Each guest also got a a small bottle of hand cream/ body lotion/ shower gel. Mum got a heap of them for 50 cents each at priceline. (They were getting rid of them so we got a big discount).

A friend of mine did something similar - little organza bags full of different types of yummy chockies. She also included a little poem from the baby to be thanking us for sharing their special day with Mummy. It was beautiful.

Thanks for the ideas girls - they sound great!
I like the idea of the organza bags Briannabear- I have some organza left over from my wedding four years ago - so it will be good to find a use for it!
Your bags sound yummy SamantaJane:yes: Making me hungry just thinking about them! And laminating the thank you cards is a great idea - I think I'll do that, but with a poem like you suggested rynosmum!
Thanks again for your help - and keep the ideas coming! Now, to find the energy to get down town, find some bargains, and get creative ;) :p

I've been to a shower where they gave each girl a minature bottle of yellowglen champagne combined with some lindt balls. I will be stealing that idea but am lucky that we have our own wine label, so I will give each guest a bottle of desert wine with chocolates which I will package in those little noodle boxes. We have a chocolate factory outlet near where we live and wa also have a stationary store that sells minature noodle boxes for 50 cents each which I will decorate myself.
For mine we were on a tight budget, but wanted to give everyone something little to say 'thank you'.
So we bought a bunch of baby themed cellophane bags (from Spotlight), and filled them with wrapped chocolates (we used boxed chocolates from Aldi - they're really nice!), and also added in a little baby-themed candle to each one (6-packs of candles were from Spotlight also).
We wrapped each one up with a ribbon, and attached a pretty note card with a little poem to say thank you from the baby (also saves on doing thankyou cards afterwards!) - everyone LOVED them.
The poem said:
Sorry I can't be with you
to join in Mum's baby shower
But I'm very busy, you see,
I'm growing more each hour!
I'm really glad that you could come
And celebrate with my mother,
Sit down, relax, enjoy yourselves
and chat with one another.
Though I'm not there to thank you
for the happiness you've brought
my family is grateful
we appreciate your kind thoughts.
I'll be arriving shortly
and I'm as happy as can be
so, after I've been home awhile,
please come and visit me!
For the party I hosted a lil while back, I did chocolates in baby-themed moulds (bought the mould of ebay for $4!), made some shortbread bikkies in the shapes of hearts and teddies, and threw in a little bottle of bubbles (like the wedding bubbles), a scented tea candle, and a few baby-shower novelties (like the little plastic saftey pins etc).....
I put them into white gift bags that I also bought off ebay (I think 25 cost me about $15 or so), lined with tissue paper. I also attached a little thank you card to the bag with a poem on it.
I havent heard any complaints about the bags, so am planning something similar for another shower that I am hosting in Melb in Oct...
Have fun!
