Is it just me or are you all concerned about the amount of accidents that have happened with school buses lately? I just heard about another one where steel piping went through the side window of a school bus as a truck was trying to overtake, luckily no-one was hurt! If you combine that along with the other accidents lately it makes it hard to want to put your kids on a bus, especially the ones with no seatbelts!:(

I don't plan on ever letting my children catch a school bus, and that's just from personal reasons.

There was an article in Sunday Tele about shipping inferior buses from other countries (with much lower standards and even lower safety records), to be used as school buses!!

That's just completely ****ed IMO!!! I don't care if petrol were to cost $3ltr, I'm still driving kids to school no matter what!

I never hear about school bus accidents

If you're worried about dodgy imported buses on the mainland spare a thought for all the Tassie kids who travel on mainland hand-me-downs

I don't think it's a huge issue, I mean if you look at how many kids take a trip on a school bus everyday of their school lives compared to the number of accidents/injuries that occur, there would be far more accidents involving children in cars....?

These days with improving public transport 'school buses' are now usually just designated buses from the usual public transport company which has resulted in a bit of a fleet overhaul.

I didn't think buses with seatbelts were available for daily transport in any state of Australia?
