I'm personally in the Western suburbs so about 35-40 mins away from you.. but I do see many NE mums around the place. You'll find most of them in the Adelaide Mums thread, but I understand its very chock-full of posts and a little daunting!

:fingerscrossed: some NE mums see your post here and put their hands up for you!

And congrats on your pregnancy.. and best wishes for a safe and smooth delivery! :hugs:

Hi There

I am in Redwood Park so not too far away from you in Highbury! I had my first DD 6 weeks ago.

I am also in search of mums and dads from the north/north east. I was going to join a mothers group but there are only 4 people in it at the moment and they wanted me to pay a yearly fee of $120 upfront! Does anyone else know of a mothers group that doesnt have such a HUGE fee? I have been attending coffee mornings at Calvary where I had Ashley but I would love to get to know mums in my local area

$120 for what! That's ridiculous.

I'm in a Mum's group at my local CYH clinic. Just let them know you want to join one and they'll organise one with babies all around the same age...............and it doesn't cost you a cent :) At this stage we come in weekly for 2 hours on Thursday afternoons and listen to one of the nurses giving out great info on all different topics eg: baby massage, food, sleep etc

Another one here.

Most of us are in the Adelaide mums #2 thread
Meetups are in various locations. Some are more our neck of the woods e.g. TTP

Hi and welcome. I hope to see you at one of the meetups!

The mother's group at my local CYH (Modbury) no longer has funding for mothers groups (so i was told) and i was referred to a "friends of child and youth health" group who want me to pay the $120 per year. Ive been told it is to cover the hall hire and tea and coffee etc

Just join us for Mummytime as we meet up at various locations eg: TTP, botanic gardens, zoo, aquatic centre...........so there's no need to pay for hall hire (who wants to sit in a boring hall anyway) and we buy our own coffees/lunch

Sounds like a pretty cr*p CYH if they can't even co-ordinate a Mum's group.............I'm sure they would all get equal funding??

Well I didnt even get a home visit when DD was born! They were so understaffed they asked me if I could come in myself and see them there at the Modbury offices. I didnt really mind doing this but it defeats the purpose of a home visit doesnt it?

How many people are in your Mothers Group? Can you PM me with the details, sounds great :)

Thanks

Kate

I never got a home visit either...............I think my paperwork went missing.

Unfortunately you won't be able to join my CYH Mum's group now as this week is the last session we are having at CYH. But certainly keep your eye on the "Any Adelaide Mums" thread here to see when & where the next Mummytime meet up is, we'd love for you & your bub to come along :)

Hi... I'm in the North in Elizabeth... and just noticed Oldermum's post, so there's 2 Bronwyn's now... just to confuse you all hehe :yelclap:

I've got Mary from CYH Elizabeth doing our visits... She has been a huge help... so there are good ones out there!
