Ok I have cracked nipples and they are healing slowly... I am using lansinoh and she is attaching properly... my question is how long should it take to heal??? I expressed milk for her last night from my left side which is the one that was bleeding.. it's not anymore though. And it has helped alittle.. i'm just wondering how long i should expect them to be tender and sore... I am gonna start feeding her again next feed on my left side but not sure how long they should take to heal.
can anyone help?
It was at about the 2 month stage that my nipples healed or should i say hardened up...lol but yes lasinoh and your own breast milk dabbed on the nipples help too, but i would say every women is different so goodluck...:fingerscrossed:
cheers...jo
I know how you feel, it's so painful. But you're hanging in there so keep going. I still have a crack 8 weeks on. I don't think it should take that long though, this turned in to a hole and got infected. I'm sorry I haven't really answered your question, but Gossie will be along shortly to do that- she's good:)

I think mine were all better by 4 weeks old - but it's different for everyone, it depends on what the actual problem is (I had no attachment problems, it was just that DS is a very very very very hard sucker :P). Get an LC to check your attachment, because if it is an attachment problem then it will probably heal up within a few days of getting attachment right.
Mine was absolutely excruciating, and then suddenly one day it was just all better. Are you putting the Lansinoh on straight after a feed? I find it soothes as well as heals. Also, sometimes feeding in a different position can help, takes the pressure off the crack, IYKWIM.
:)
I found that i could feel the difference with attachments and as soon as we got the attachment right it was a few days of tenderness and they have been perfect ever since.

I was able to tell the difference when i got the attachment right and i can definately feel the difference now... the pain is only very short at the first go of attaching.. i am putting the lansinoh on after every feed and it is healing.. was jsut wondering how long it takes.. it is definately feeling better and is getting better just wasn't sure how long it can take... to completely heal

I was in exruciating pain too and had badly cracked and bleeding nipples so I went to the chemist and got some nipple shields until they healed.
