do your children participate in and do they enjoy it?
I am looking at putting all three kids in swimming soon, depends on the days I can get though and next year having the girls go to calisthenics each Wednesday night and MAYBE something else but depends on money. Also I am wondering how many activities is too much?
Thanks. :)
Depends what your children are interested in and what you are capable of fitting into your routines I guess.
We do swimming, footy, dance, guitar, violin and karate at the moment. It all fits in nicely with our lives and it's what the kids are into at the moment.
With the youngest I only do mothers group and baby yoga. I teach everything else myself.
Mine all do swimming - my 6 and 10 year olds (DS1 and 2) do swimming club nearly everyday in Summer.
My two youngest (DS3 and DD) do Kindergym twice a week.
I take the two youngest to playgroup.
DD (3) does ballet.
Two older boys play soccer (practice once and week then Saturday games.)
My DS2 does gymnastics.
They have also done Karate which they enjoyed.
We need to start them in music and are going to buy a drum kit and small guitars, we have a piano....my DH can teach them.

I take the 3 to playgroup too. Nathan and Skye go to occasional care 2 mornings a week, Hayley goes to preschool 3 days a week for 3-4 hours each, we also have speech pathologist sessions too, though not really counted as an activity.

My 3 girls are older (DD1 is 11yrs and DD2 & DD3 are 6yrs) and they have done a few things over the years.
They have all done swimming lessons for years and will continue at least until they are competant swimmers. Possibly longer for at least 1 of them as she really enjoys swimming.
Then they all do Gymnastics through a Youth Club which means it's heaps cheaper which is a bonus. DD2 & DD3 do it recreationally and have since they were 3yrs old and DD1 started when she was 5yrs and decided to do levels this year. They all LOVE gymnastics.
They did cheerleading for a few years and also dancing for a while but decided they were happy just doing gymnastics and swimming. I have to admit it does feel good not having to do a lot after school although we do spend one weekday going backwards and forwards to gym as they are at different times. Then DD1 does gym for most of saturdays as well.
Oh, and DD1 has soccer training for an hour after school (at school) once a week. But thats free and only until soccer finishes.

My year old dd does gymnastics at the YMCA and loves it!! There is also a program for the little ones called ED gym so my 2 year old does that, it's a lot like gymbaroo, but also prepares them for gymnastics,
Sometimes I take my girls to Story time at the Library, they read and then do art and craft. This is FREE. I just checked on my new brochure and the Cranbourne Library times are:
Tuesdays 2- 2:45pm and Fridays 11:15-12pm that is most suitable for 3-5 year olds, but I take my 2 year old with me!
And they have a Tinies Time for Nathan maybe on Tuesdays 11:15-11:45.
