Hi ladies, I'm having my daughters party at laser tag center this weekend and I'm self catering.

We have a party room to spread out in but as for facilities I'll only really have access to a microwave to reheat food.

I'd love some ideas on party food that I can make over the next couple of days and just take along, and maybe a few things that may work being reheated in a microwave.

Looking forward to some suggestions!
:)

Fairy bread :D

Ummm triangle cut sandwhiches.

Mini meatballs with tooth picks and tomato sauce (cold or would microwave well)

Cocktail franks would microwave well too.

Mmmmmmm strawberry and cream scones. (or drop scones - like pikelets)

Fruit platter

Deli meat platter.

Yum!! Some great ideas, thanks Sleepless!

I'm on limited time so a lot of those will work well, I'd forgotten all about the deli platter idea - that would work for the parents who stay too!

As for sandwiches, I don't think anyone can resist a little square of cheese spread and cucumber! My kids love them!
I suck at scone making so that one is out, but pikelets I can do :)
How would I reheat cocktails in the microwave without them bursting? A little water in the bottom of the bowl perhaps??

That's what I'd do. Do you have a microwavable Tupperware type container? I'd put water in and microwave and drain it.

To avoid splitting don't overdo them they don't need to be cooked, just heated through.

Oh and a bought tray of lamingtons probably wouldn't go unappreciated ;)

Why not do chipolata sausages instead of frankfurts. Cook them that morning/night before and reheat. No worries about bursting!

Rice paper rolls, fruit sticks, popcorn....

Have you tried making lemonade scones? They are easy peasy

I make mini quiches in muffin tins.

Puff pastry as the base then add a little bacon, onion & tomato top with some whisked egg & top with cheese. Put in oven at 180 for about 20-30 mins depending on ur oven. Good hot or cold.

1 Cup Lemonade
1 Cup Cream
4 C SRF

You can then add whatever you like to alter them. I find fresh cream is the best but you can use the other cream too. I brush them with cream instead of egg wash to make them brown (as we are egg free :))

Put a bit of chives through them and serve with cream cheese and ham or whatever suits your purpose ;)

Thanks for that MM - I must say I've never heard of scones done that way!!
Bring on my baking day - I think I should *test* them first  :D
