Hi my DD is turning the big 1 in a few months and my imagination has been running away with me.
I can't say I have actually been to a one year old party and I would love you guys to share some of your experiences and suggestions to make my little girls day extra special.
She is going to have family, friends and little friends aswell.
I was thinking of having it at a lovely park.
Cheers

for ds we did a back yard party, we had just under 70 people ranging in age from 4 weeks to 70 years.

we had a number one themed party and everything was blue and green. we had an animal farm, bouncy castle, face painter and of course a pinater.

we asked family and close friends to bring a platter of food, and we also put on some food and all the drinks.

it went for three hours and everyone seemed to have a great time.

i have already started planning the new bubs first birthday and he is not even born yet. i get way to excited and have way too much time on my hands

Don't know about parties but get the cake made - so stressful making one! I got my DD's from www.birthdaycakes.com.au (http://www.birthdaycakes.com.au) and it was beautiful and tasty!

I just did an awesome Pirate themed party for DS's 5th. I'm planning a teddy bear picnic for DD's 1st. Thinking of having it at the park, with family and friends and asking everyone to bring their favourite teddy! It sounds pretty easy and low key and something a lil one year old would really 'get'. At that age it's such a waste (I think) to go all out on the party props. I LOVE planning birthdays and am looking forward to when DD gets older as i have t in my head that I'm going to do a Mad Hatters tea party for her 4th-5th :flowerz:

We're having a mad hatter party for DD's 1st Birthday.

Starting at noon.

Wanted a theme to give me ideas for games, food, etc!!

Sometimes its easier to have a theme than to try and just throw stuff together!! you could have a colour theme, a "one" theme (where everything is number one), etc!! Just google party ideas, there are loads of good blogs out there!!

We are having finger food, eat me cookies, pretty much afternoon tea stuff.

games are: croquet, hat making, ball pit, etc!!

There will be about 50 people ranging in ages from about 10 weeks to my 75 year old nan!!!!

We did bbqs for the girls and just had an indoor home party for Nathan (was raining). They don't need a huge expensive birthday at age 1. They won't remember it.

I know of a great new gift. It's a kids flip out couch in a look alike leather and there are do many colours to choose from. I got one for my daughter when she was one and she still loves it. So do I it fantastic I just wipe it clean. No need to pull apart and put into a washinashine . Fantastic for Dads.
