1) Go back to wearing a normal bra?

DS is 10 months and I am down to 3ish feeds a day. I am wondering if I can start wearing underwire bras again (especially the days I'm at work). I miss them so much!! I am still worried if it'll increase the risk of mastitis or something.

2) Get your period back?

And I night weaned DS like a month ago and still no AF action! What's the deal!?!?! Do I have to entirely stop BF to get it back? Not that I miss it but it's making me nervous cause I can tell it's going to make a sudden and badly timed re-appearance.

I didn't wear a normal bra until a couple of months after I stopped breastfeeding. I'm not sure about the underwire, but I know my boobs changed shape and size once I'd completely finished feeding. I got af back when my babies were well over a year old - but with DD I think she'd cut down feeds for quite a while before af came back.

i think i started wearing a normal bra when ds was only having night feeds.

I got AF back when he was 9 months old and I bf him till he was 19 months old.

I've been wearing real bras for a few months. I rotate real and maternity bras - sometimes I just want to feel uplifted ;) and people often comment 'have you lots weight?' when I wear an underwire because it just defines boob and fat I guess and it makes it clear that there's quite a lot of boob here!!! (I'm in a e-f cup)

Periods 1 year. Still breast feeding at 20 months and they are pretty erratic periods still.

underwires have never been actually proven to cause anything I would change as soon as your ready

I wore maternity bras the whole time I fed DS. I got my af back when DS was 6 weeks old and then every 4 weeks (unlucky) I am feeding my DD now (10 days old) I hope I don't get my af this time for at least a few months lol

Oh I forgot to add I wore underwire maternity bras early on but did find they weren't comfortable - but I think you'll know if it feels right or wrong.

After the first couple of months I found it easier not to wear one at all and if one was needed it was whatever I grabbed, maternity or normal. I have never worn underwire though.

Almost forgot lol I got my period back when she was 3.

Because i've been pregnant/breastfeeding in succession i've now gone 4yrs without underwire and BOY do I miss them  it's just so much easier for me to feed with a mat. bra rather than stretching/ruining an underwire one.

As for periods, I got it back with DD after 3 months (had long stopped BF by then), with DS1 it was when he was 9 months (he BF around the clock until 19mo) and DS2 is 6.5mo and no period yet :)

It may not have been proven, however LOTS of people have complained about how uncomfortable they are, and the few times I have worn one while breastfeeding (to go to weddings where bubs are not attending) I have felt very sore where the wire hits the side of my breast, and ended up with a blocked duct on one occassion.

When your breasts are still filling frequently, I wouldn't risk it.

I don't think I have worn one (other than those few weddings) for over 4years now, as they annoy me in pregnancy, and was b/f DS1 when I fell pregnant with the twins.

AF was just over 9months with DD1, same with DS1 and with my twins, it was 11months.

I was 4mths preggers with DD when I stopped breastfeeding DS and am still breastfeeding DD and am 10wks preggers - and YES I'm STILL wearing maternity bras from the first one. I just never went back into normal ones and probably wont until after this bub  saying that, where I live - it is not easy to get bras in my size so i stock up when in OZ.

As for my period - it was about 8 months for both if I remember correctly.

DD is 10 months and is exclusively breastfed about 4 times a day - I am still wearing a maternity/nursing bra.

I got my period back when she was 8 months.

I only wore maternity bras occasionally. I found it hard to find any in my size 12F-G that weren't some astronomical price and that 'held' my boobs up properly (which is a nice way of putting it!)

I wore underwires right through my pregnancy and am wearing them now (I'm still BF my 16 month old). I never had any problems- no blocked ducts, etc. and I find them to be more comfortable.

My period came back when DD was 9 months old and has been regular since- even though she didn't cut back on feeds until she was close to 12 months and is still having a fair few feeds a day with at least one night feed.

i started out with maternity bras but didn't like them so i have worn crop tops most of the time. now DD is 8months and not breastfeeding so much i occasionally wear underwire if i'm going out and don't have any dramas, my boobs don't get as full anymore.

no sign of period yet.
