View Full Version : Weeing Through Nappies
Cobey's in 'sposies. We use Babyloves. Also he's a heavy wetter.
The last couple of nights he's wet right through his nappy making his clothes, wraps and bassinet sheets wet.
Last night he did this, so when he woke at 4 a change of PJs was in order, I changed him, put a new nappy on, fed him and when I picked him up to put him back to bed (we feed in side-lying at night, if that makes a difference) he had completely wet through that nappy, leaving a wet-patch on the bed!!
When I took THAT nappy off, the nappy wasn't really all that wet at all. So how did it all get out?
Also, is there anything anyone can recommend to stop this? maybe I should use huggies or another brand for night - he's fine in babyloves during the day? (or clothies???????)

I use huggies during the night and a cheaper brand during the day. It helps with me. If the nappy wasnt really wet - i find sometimes DS wets through without his nappy being too wet if his Doodle is upwards when i put his nappy on :o (oh the joys of little boys lol) I always make sure that DS's Doodle is poking down and we have hardley any accidents...just my observation anyway  (OK now im embarrased :o  ) Might help you out though.

See I forget that rule!
When I was in the hospie with him, first nappy change, I put the nappy on him, didn't aim the willy, and when I did it up he went - whiiiiizzzz and got himself in the eye.
The poor kid.. I laughed so hard I just about wet -my- self as well.
But thank you, I'll take more care as to where his willy goes and see if that helps as well.
I had the same problem with baby love, im not really sure what is was.
I use huggies for night time, they have been the best for me.
Also, if your considering cloth, the eenies work really well on my DS at night too.
Hope you get it worked out!:fingerscrossed:

Yes, they are and we find them to be fantastic. No leaking at all and no crystals breaking out like Huggies. And better still, they are about half the price of Huggies too. I have to drive across town to get them but I do and stock up every few weeks - they're great!

Make sure the gusset is not suck down either, Jase figured that one out - and it has been a godsend since garrett is now sleeping 9 old hours straight..

Okay, silly question here, but what does this mean?
Edit: Oh wait, duh Nikki, I get it. LOL. A mixture of a typo on your part and me not reading properly on mine.. (if I had read it I would have realised what you were saying.. but because I'm an idiot I read Does Not Suck.. and I"m like.. gussets suck? what?)
hehe
Thanks
Seek, DD leaks through every disposible at night. We tried about 6 brands before we switched to cloth. She also got a rash from them all, but that's another story. Using cloth we get a good 12 hours, with no leaks, at all. We have found Mammia good on DS, as well as huggies. But the mammia ones sizing is a bit strange and for some reason they weren't fitting him as well. We only use huggies on him now.

Yeah we had this problem also because Boof slept on his side so would have wee everywhere !!!!
Half the problem was how his doodle was positioned but i also found since we started on cloth we dont have a problem & he is still often on his side !!!!
Love our hemp !!!
Did you want a dreamytimes to try out Nikki ?

I too have a newborn and he is doing the same thing. I use huggies but if they are not folded out (and put on correctly they too leak). I have some newborns I am trying to use but I think he should be in the bugger size as he is a bigger baby and drinking heaps. My DS2 is wetting through everything I change him 3 times a day. I will head off and buy bigger nappies today to hopefully solve the problem.

I'm getting one or two from veve I think! :) Thanks tho'!
And thanks to all others for advice, I didn't end up buying Mammia ones today as I'll try to make sure I have willy positioning and gusset positioning first!
(I also bought some muslin cloth nappies today for day time! yay!)
