 Multiple Mummies!
I have just been put on hospital bed rest! Went in this week (29 weeks) with a 9mm cervix. Very shocked as I have been feeling fine and the babies are measuring well. Both the same size at +1.3kg each.
They won't let me go home until I give birth or reach 33 weeks at the start of Sept. I can't even get up to make a cup of tea! (Let alone go outside)
Mixed feelings about it all. I love our little ones so much already I want to do everything I can to get them to term. That said, I feel chained to the bed and not sick at all! And the babies are doing well too so it's difficult to be here at times.
Keen to hear if this happened to you as well and if you have any tips to stay sane! Got the internet set up now and a few books/box sets to watch. I guess I just have to sit and wait it out...

:hugs: Not quite the same situation, but I was in early labour at 32weeks, 2cm dilated and contractions 2mins apart and considering my previous labour was 2hrs long - it was a worry! so I started the drugs to stop labour and was put in hospy on bed-rest. I hated it at the time, I had 2 little ones at home (just turned 2 & 4) and hated being apart from them. Labour stopped and I wanted to go home, but my OB said he didn't think there was a chance I could rest properly at home so wanted me to stay put until 34weeks. I needed to get out though, an walked accross to the chemist at the other bulding - big mistake as contractions started up again on the way back, so I was back on the medication and not allowed to walk any further than to the loo and back. I ended up staying until almost 35weeks, as my OB was away and his fill-in suggested we wait just a few more days for him.....then after 3days at home, waters broke and we delivered at 35weeks. I probably should have stayed longer, and then we might have avoided the SCN!!
My biggest tip, is to ENJOY IT, it will be the last time you get so much time to rest and enjoy being alone! :D Try and treat it like you are at a private resort, the nurses are there to cater to your every need, feed you, fetch you drinks (just ignore all the doppler checks and CTG's!).
I had the internet too, loved my lappy then!! Also I got some lovely wool, and knitted a nappy cover and pair of long pants each for the bubbas! Do you do anything crafty? There is a good online knitting help that can teach you to knit, or maybe some scrapbooking, card making - get a head start on thankyou notes (wish I had done that, as STILL haven't sent them, and bubs are 15months!) etc. Crochet, needlepoint or other art type things to hang in the bubbas rooms.

I really feel for you hospital bedrest is the pits.
I know not exactly the same as I didn't have twins but understand the short cervix and bedrest.
My last four pregnancy resulted in prems because of incompetant cervix (shortening and dialating)...two later prems (36 and 35 weekers) and two early prems (28 and 25 weekers)
My last two where plagued with constant problems from 19 weeks
DD3 (#6) I had no length left and 2-3 cm dialated at 26 weeks...my waters broke at 26+6 weeks and I was on permanant hospital bed rest...she was born at 28+1 because she stuck her foot out my cervix. It was hard because I had a 10 month at home.
My last pregnancy I was in and out of hospital with contractions and shortened cervix...I had a cervical stitch placed at 23+5 weeks and was on hospital bedrest for 4 days...I went home but ended back up in 4 days later and he was born at 25+1 weeks.
I know that it is boring but the longer the babies are tucked up inside the better for them and the less time that they spend in the nursery.
Have they discussed giving you the steroid shots yet?
The internet was a sanity saver for me to and I made good friends with the other long termer girls in the ward.
I wish you all the best. :hugs:

Enjoy the rest and try to relax. For every day you keep them baking, is a day out of NICU/SCN. They are much better off with you at the moment
I was hosptalised at 29 weeks with a haemorrage and contractions. It was all stopped, I was sent home a week later with instructions to rest, same thing happened again at 32 weeks and was put back on bed rest.
Long story short, I got to 37 weeks with only 1 bub required NICU. He only had a short stay in NICU but it was an awful feeling.

I was in hospital from 23-25 weeks, same time & campus as Sheer Bliss.
I was medicate to the hills to stop contractions & dielating. 3 weeks on my back with limited wheel chair rides worked, I go to 28+3 weeks after 3 weeks at home doing the same.
Make hospital as homely as possible, pictures of family & friends, own pillow & blanket, shower each day & get dressed, organise for someone to do your washing & bring in meals so your not constantly eating crappy hospital food.
