DS who is almost 17 months, has been a bit all over the place the last few days and tonight when he was laying on the lounge and I was tickling him I noticed that he has had a molar come through and on the other side it's cracked through as well. I didn't think they came through this early - aren't they usually around 2 years?
He's got four bottom teeth and 2 top teeth, all which came through between 10 & 12 months.

yep the first molars are around that time :)
L is now 28 months and he just has the "two year old" molars left to come thru which are due any time between 24 and 36 months according to some site a was reading !
he has two top and two bottom molars already (one each side ) if that makes sense ?
DD had her 2 top and 2 bottom teeth come though between 8 and 12 months, she then had the other 2 teeth next to the bottom 2 come through and then out of nowhere got 2 bottom molars and now at 17 months she just got 2 top molars (so 4 molars in total). She's got 12 teeth now but looks funny as she has the 4 top ones at the front and 4 bottom ones at the front and then has 4 random molars.
Gee did that make sense, there were a lot of numbers there

This is DS almost exactly! He started getting teeth at 9 months old, and he has two top teeth, four bottom ones (the last of these only popped out this week, the others were all months and months ago) and in the past 10 days ALL FOUR molars have made an appearance! He's just gone 15 months old.

It's funny how they all come through at once :) Poor little man, he never lets me near his mouth so I had no idea at all. Guess his teething necklace must be working wonders for him as he's not been crying, just grizzly and wanting lots of cuddles.

How do you know if the molars are through or not? DS is just 2 but has had all the teeth he's got fully through since 16 mths .... he had all his teeth super early - could he already have the molars? I tried to have a feel but it's a risky business as he clamps down.

Tickling works for us. He laughs with a big open mouth and they are really easy to spot the white bits against the red gums.

I saw them :) We do the tickling as well, the only way I can see into his mouth at all. They stand out against the gums. Easiest to do it when they're lying down in front of you.

But how far back are the 2 year old molars? He definitely has molars, feels like a good run of them and then a good size fingertip of empty gum behind them.
