How long before you have got a Postive HPT after missed period??

I'm 24 and me and my partner are trying to concieve our 1st. I had only taken the pill for 3 years and have now been off it for 2 and a half months. Last month i ovulated according to doc with the eggwhite discharge for 3 days and had my period around the correct time. This month i think i may have ovulated but not too sure and i'm now 2 weeks late (26th of June was my last cycle).

I have done a few HPTs but all negative. Either i not be pregnant and could be just having a late cycle (never this late before i was on the pill though) or i am pregnant and its just not showing yet. I've only tried the early First Response tests at this stage. I'm happy to wait and see what happens and try other tests in a few days. If i'm not then i know i've got many months ahead to try :).

I'm wanting to know if there are many people out there who don't get a positive HPT as soon as they miss their period? I have heard that some haven't got a positive until 8 or more weeks.

I am in the same situation as you ... just over 14days late atm, done tests and all negative. Last time i found out at this point in time but it was very very faint..

Just re test in a few days :) otherwise maybe get a blood test just to be sure

perhaps you ovulated late.
I got a positive 5 days before af was due.

that was with a FR.

Also I know that First Response can pick up a HCG level as low as 9.

Get a blood test if you still havent got af or a positive soon.

Thanks for your replies. I'll see how it goes and test again in a few days. I have had a spotting of very pale blood only in 2 wipes on the time i thought i'd start my period and few light cramps but it could be anything. :fingerscrossed: i get a positive but people are saying i should have by now. Would love to start a family.

Any others got positive results over 2 weeks late??

im 8 days late and all negative hpts last i saw af was on the 29th of june mines is usally right on time

Hi, Well looks like i have started my AF today. I'm happy that at least i know whats going on now :).

I can try again this month and this time i'll have a maybe baby saliva ovulation test and a urine ovulation kit to help me to get the days correct. Hope its not a day we work away together on as we don't see each other then. :fingerscrossed:
