losec causing wind

DD is 11 weeks old and has been on losec 10 mg daily for 9 weeks - since she was 2 weeks old. She is a brilliant self settler sleeper now she has her reflux under control, and is a very happy baby... something i thought she would never be prior to her starting Losec. The only thing I am finding is that the Losec is causing her bad wind both from down below and her mouth! So bad infact that she wakes herself up by 'popping off'. She goes down at about 6 pm up again at 1130 - usually woken by wind, up again at 330 am wind again and then awake again at 530 6 am. I also find that she has more than usual bowel actions more so in the night, every nappy change during the night is usually full of poop! Anybody else having 'windy' issues with the Losec? We are to decrease the dose by half to 5 mg daily next week when she hits 12 weeks. We are hoping it doesn't set off her reflux and we are also hoping that it will decrease her wind... fingers crossed... :rolleyes:

DS is on Losec also 3ml x 2 a day. Farts the house down, but thought it was from the formula he's on. My paed did say wind and constipation may of been a side effect, he is a windy baby, burps a lot/well and farts like a trooper. Like your DD though self settles really well. We start the weaning back off the Losec at 6 months. He does two pooey nappies everyday :-/!!!
