When they phoned me yesterday they said they would send me a letter with details of place to call for an ultrasound in the next 2 weeks- sqeeeheee- cant wait
Then I see the clinic once more and then they release me into the care of an OB. They said to start thinking of which OB I may want to have but not to worry about booking just yet.

I just asked a mod to move the thread for you, Bourbon. :) For future reference, you just have to go to the forum main page, scroll down to the bottom to find the mods online, select one, and send a PM. Easy peasy.
Congrats to you all. This is gonna be my thread -- I just know it!

Bourbon- sorry I left our chat before- I know what you mean abotu the pants already being tight from bloating.
I am going to hold off buying clothes for myself for awhile until it becomes unbearable.
bourbon11646
05-08-2010, 15:39
Yeah ill hold off on the maternity pants for a bit longer then. This is where my maxi dresses are going to come in handy! All forms of pants seem to leave an indent in my side and hurt?
I look HUGE in this firm fitting dress. People are going to be shocked when they see me lol  I kind of like it because then i 'feel' pregnant, i waddle around rubbing my belly lol.
Just found a cheap chemist to buy my pessaries from as ill be stopping the crinone when it runs out and changing to the pessaries (much cheaper apparently), i found a chemist that does them for $41 for 15 which is good.
Also my patches are $25 for 8 and i need two every second day so this is getting expensive!!
Ive booked my Ob!!! Im so excited! Have an appt in four weeks to see the midwife and get info etc and then see Dr Cliff Neppe (WA) two weeks after that. Ive heard from a friend he is great and there are good bubhub comments about him (apparently he was ob of the yr in 2007) and he takes alot of time to answer questions and all his staff love him which is a good sign.
Just got a wedding invite for March 2011 in Qld, bummer wont be able to go if the pregnancy still going strong. Id much rather bubs but this wedding would be beautiful to see and ive never been to Qld. O'well raindrop comes first!
Sandra when was your EPU? Maybe thats why our due dates are different slightly. Mine was on 19 July.
Hi to all the other regulars ive grown to love, ill have to pop over and stalk your thread now too
Congrats to all and I wish well on this amazing journey!
Bourbon - you will love Dr Neppe.....he is fantastic! He never rushes you and has (or seems to have) all the time in the world to answer any questions etc. You have made a great choice in obs!!

Hello ladies, can you put a march date on the roll call too, as some of us ladies are due at end of march and I would like to stay with you all cos I love you all
Sick me on for 29th march please:)
I am HUGE and everyone asked if I was UTD today, very embarrassing to tell them I was not even 7 weeks yet and its all bloat. Think I have my first episode of M/S this evening, but still nothing else.......
Bourbon, I am worried now that I haven't booked into see an OB, I was going to have my 8 week u/s with Concept first just to be on the safe side. Where do you live? I will probably go to joondalup as I live very near by and do all my nursing pac there too!

Laura - I put you in bold to differentiate on roll call is that ok?
I also am HUGE i look 5 months preggers! If i see any friends they will think im lying if i say im not preg! I dont want to tell any til 3 months, how am i gonna hide it lol  lots of big jumpers hehe..
I need some maternity pants but DH wont let me yet, will stick to maxi dresses and loose trackies.
Are you in pain? My stomach still hurts so much and my back and i cant sleep well. I wake at 2am every day and cant go back to sleep.
I live not far from Joondalup but have always loved Glengarry hospital and ive heard you have to book an Ob early to get in so get to it girl! It was exciting making my appt. I have to see a midwife first for heaps of info then 2 weeks later i see the Ob. Cant wait for my first u/s to make it a bit more secure. Im so scared of losing the preg. I have to get weekly bt's at my fert clinic and u/s in 3 weeks time then the care swaps to my Ob.
Goodluck everyone, i love this thread!
bourbon - u cant change title to march and april?.. just a suggestion, all of us from july ivf thread are due in march and April.. those that will be due may and june, are yet to do ivf and we never went thru the experience with them.. it would be nice to all keep in touch with everyone from the old thread and those who are all pretty close together in the pregnancy..
lauralollipop
05-08-2010, 21:19
I agree with Ange too:)
Bourbon - oh I had better get to it, was just scared in case I book and then lose it, you know I still don't feel convinced yet. Does Glengarry only take private patients? I am going public as we cant afford private as I don't work, so think I might get sent to JHC by default. Oh I am glad you got in with who you wanted you will have to tell me what happens at your first apt..... my pain and nausea has gone away now, but still huge..... My DH is away in Kalgoorlie and not back till 8pm tonight, he looks after me and does all the cooking and I am struggling with feeding myself, as I don't fancy anything but I am starving.....so far I have eaten a bowel of ice-cream and some rice crackers, this is not good........ any ideas what I can eat????
Laura- what symptoms have u had so far in the pregnancy and what week, day are u at?
i am 6 weeks tomorrow!! so far i have had the occassional headache, heaps of gastro on and off ever since ET, and thats about it, no morning sickness as yet...
lauralollipop
05-08-2010, 21:44
I will be 7 weeks on Monday, and so far I don't really have any 'real' pregnancy symptoms that I would have associated with real pregnancy.
I have wind, and constipation, but I am taking iron tablets as I have low iron levels and my progesterone is 560 and that causes your bowl to slow down too, so not sure if thats a real one or not.
As you know my tummy is huge but this is cos of my enlarged ovaries and not the boob, who is only 0.44cm
My boobs are not big or sore, but they were after ET and in the 2ww. The one symptom I have just started to get is that I am hungary but nothing I fancy to eat, I have 'gone off' food, and the hungry feeling is making me feel nausea........ I also keep feeling AF type pains everyone and then and fullness down there. This was really bad in the 2ww and up till I was 5 weeks, the pains kept me awake at night. Oh and I pee a lot.
hope this helps. How are you feeling?
Bourbon thanks for adding me, but I am WAY overdue

Hey guys im trying to change the thread to March/April, how do i edit it??!
Also Greenapple - ive asked a mod to move it like you asked but no one is sure where we are supposed to put it or understand?
Ill do a new roll call for march april in the meantime.
Laura - you crack me up, rice crackers and icecream for dinner? Now that isnt very nutritious for bubby
I know how you feel though, my DH does all the cooking also and it kills my back to stand for any length of time at the moment. I ended up having some steak, mashed potatoe and peas to get some protein for the ohss. DH is away for work overnight tonight and i think hes away all next week too, im gonna starve!!!
Is your belly button stretched to a slit from bloating because mine is and im a bit worried? Im so nervous bout my high oestrogen too, what if its affecting raindrop?
I dont have many symptoms of pregnancy at the moment either except hunger. I notice my stomach growling frequently, thats it at the moment. I had morning sickness a week ago but thats gone. What happened to the 1st trimester being the worst and being super tired? I cant seem to go to sleep or stay asleep i have the opposite problem right now!
Oh and i hear ya with the constipation, how annoying is that! Im drinking Metamucil, eating prunes etc but nothing is doing the job ahhhh!

hey girls,
this may get a little confusing as we already have a due in Jan/Feb/Mar 2011 thread so there will be an overlap of March girls in both threads. There are no rules of course but the threads have usually been over a 3 month period so following on from Jan/Feb/Mar the next thread created would be April/May/June. New BFP girls will join in as they receive their news including girls you may not have cycled with which is all part of the fun. Anyway just an observation:)
KimInMellie
06-08-2010, 09:01
Sorry to be a buttinski as I'm not even preggers yet, but I agree with Lissy - it will get confusing for creating future threads. How about keeping the name Apr/May/June but having March in the roll call for those ladies who want to keep in touch with their July cycle buddies? If any women currently due in early April find out they're having twins, their due dates may be bumped into March anyway. :)

Just adding myself in for the 6th April, & also for my first scan - i seriously do not know how I'm going to last another 2 weeks till my scan!!
Question for you ladies - I've been getting AF type cramps on & off since ET, but my HCG levels are definitely going up (1st - 81, 2nd - 194, 3rd - 1246! Whoo hoo!). Just wondering if anyone else is still getting any cramping?
And possibly TMI, but I won't let DH touch me until we know for sure that this little one is sticky - has anyone DTD with their partner since ET, or are you staying away from it "just in case"??
Just butting in to say congratulations!!!! A couple of people I've cycled with I'm so excited to see you in here

I dont know what to do, i originally had it as due apr, may, june but lots of ladies wanted march included in this one, it was such an effort getting it changed!
What should i do?
This is a problem because we all want to join in the conversations together, unless i put it back and then we just have to join both threads to keep in touch?
AAHH!!
bourbon11646
06-08-2010, 09:49
Ok... im going to email a mod again and get it changed back to apr, may, june to keep with the usual pattern. We have a march one so its not fair to have two.
Then im going to subscribe to both threads and we can always copy messages into both to keep in touch.
It just s*x we cant somehow all be together, my family is being split up! We just have to make sure we post in both i guess.
donna2712
06-08-2010, 09:50
Maybe reinstate the April/May/June thread to keep the format going and have a seperate thread titled "July '10 cycle graduates" so you can all pop in and chat together.
Just a suggestion. It is nice to chat to your fellow cyclers but you also don't want other month cyclers to feel like they are crashing a closed thread.

BUT pls make sure you subscribe to both threads that way we can ALL keep in touch on a regular basis. You can always copy and paste comments so you dont have to do the work of typing them twice, thats what i used to do with my perth thread and july ttc thread. xox

Don't stress bourbon buddy, your not splitting up the family:no:. The Girls like Laura etc due end of March can just stay in this thread and don't even need to worry about subscribing to our thread unless they want to, its only a matter of a few days. Its just more to avoid confusion with the upcoming BFP's. At the end of the day we all post in all of the threads from time to time :)

06-08-2010, 10:12
hehe... its sorted now, as soon as i get a mod to change the name back for me (i dont know how does anyone else?).
Does anyone else worry about symptoms coming and going? Last night i felt terrible with stomach pain from the bloating and swollen ovaries etc but it was the first night i slept right through and didnt wake at 2am. I didnt feel hungry this morning like usual and now im concerned if bubbs is still ok.. i know i know im stressing and worrying WAY too much but after my m/c by second BT a yr and half ago im so scared.
lauralollipop
06-08-2010, 10:29
My symptoms come and go too, my friends tell me its normal but it makes me a nervous wrek, I am now wishing away the week to see 'button' again on friday and know her little hearts still beating in there, this is SO nerve wracking......
So where is Josi and the other March ladies? are they in the other group? I feel a bit like a crasher now that I have been deleted:( I don't belong anywhere:crying:
Lissy Loo
06-08-2010, 10:39
Oh no Laura you belong wherever you want to below whether that be in here or our thread. You are welcome everywhere!! Add yourself back to the rollcall in here and just put your April due date down that way you can stay in this thread and feel part of it. This is just a way to keep the due in threads going but you can take part in whatever thread you feel most comfortable which i imagine is this one.
plsjust1more
06-08-2010, 11:22
Laura-your most welcome in our thread & im sure in this thread lovely.Your not a crasher... a lurker hehehhee:laughing: Weve got quite a few march ladies too that would have cycled with you as well i would imagine but its upto you, slot in where you feel most comfortable..
Bourbon-stop stressing... (we all do it dont worry) im sure bubs is fine & symptoms do come & go.The hormones spike when bubs is having a growth spurt which make you have M/S , tired, nausea, etc.. then they settle till they have another growth spurt but understandably it does make you worry.Hopefully you'll escape the M/S.
lauralollipop
06-08-2010, 11:54
thank you ladies, I must have pregnancy hormones:kiss:
I might be brave and move to the March thread, but I will still come in here too, mind you I shouldn't even be on here at all;), I have so much uni work to do and need to get it done now while I feel ok as I am sure that the farther along I get the harder it will be to motivate myself.
KimInMellie
06-08-2010, 12:08
Laura, please don't feel like you don't belong anywhere! I still think you should pop your name on the roll call -- either under April or put a March heading in the RC. You sorta have the best of both worlds; you can learn from the ladies ahead of you in the J/F/M thread and then come in here and be the voice of wisdom for the A/M/J group! :) I have the opposite problem to you -- if I get a BFP this cycle I'll be due April 20 but I feel close to several ladies in the other thread. Maybe we could swap due dates? ;) Seriously, I promise they don't bite over there ... do you, Lissy?
Okay, I promise this is my last thread-crasher post -- I'll leave you girls to it & won't post again until I get my BFP! Back to lurking ...
bourbon11646
06-08-2010, 13:10
Laura - YOU DO BELONG!!!! :hugs: I luv you matey and dont you dare leave me! In the end we had the keep the format of the threads the same with the month schedule but that doesnt mean you have to join that thread if your more comfy in here. Hey im a hog - im in both   i want to stay in touch with everyone so i make them all 'my' threads hehehehehe..
Like the others said, add you name under the April section but put your march due date next to it. That will be fine, i just had to keep the month format thats all but pls dont leave i have grown really close to you and want to see all your progress scan dates etc up on the roll call with ours!
Like someone said you do have the best of both worlds, in a way i feel like i dont belong because i feel like i should be in the other thread not april lol!

Hi Everyone,
I understand about the whole march/april thingy. I would like to stay in this thread even if my due date gets moved to march (if I am expecting twins this is likely).
Can we keep the heading the same as it already is but add in a march section for those that want to continue with the July IVF cycle girls?
Bourbon- I had EPU on the 12th July- so I think that was before you. The I had blasties transferred.
Moo- I have had some cramping but seems to have stopped lately. But I think it comes and goes as uterus stretches.
I have had moments of being ravenous and then feeling like hurling when I see the food. The smell of meat cooking is getting to me at the moment.
I have also been getting really tired by 3.30pm. I wish I was at home for a nana nap.
Also and this may be TMI- When I wiped last night I had some discharge which had a little dark coloured blood in it. There has been none since. Clinic said not to worry about it, but each time I go to the toilet I am checking.
hey everyone! i come home from a days work and so much chatter going on! :)
whats happening, r we now back to april may june?.. whoever it was, sorry ive forgotten now about the july ivf graduates.. think that would have been a better idea and would have pleased everyone! such a shame we r split up cause of march and april babies! i want to keep in touch with the march girls as im so close to ur date! :) but yes, please march girls stay here with us in this thread, we're all going thru this closely together!

Hi ladies
I just thought that I would add myself to the roll call. I still cant believe that I am here. I feel very lucky and privilaged to be pregnant again. I think the us IVF pregnant women really appreciate our pregnancies, and the miracle that has occurred! Dont tell anyone I said this, but IVF babies are that little bit more special! lol. I am not looking forward to morning sickness (which for me last time was all day sickness and lasted the whole way through my pregnancy). I am already considering going and getting my script for maxolon, just in case I need it, especially since I have been feeling a little nauseaous over the last couple of days. I am already huge (due to OHSS) and a lady asked me yesterday when at the shops how far along I was! Jeepers I'm only 4 weeks today, but I obviously look a lot further along - which probably explains why I dont fit into any of my pants and why I have already gone out and purchased maternity jeans. I have maternity clothes from last time, but the majority of them are summer clothes, and well its winter at the moment. I hope the rest of you are travelling well and the pregnancy symptoms haven't hit you too hard! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you.

Ange - sorry i did the best i could with this thread. I was trying to please everyone but at the end of the day we had to have the same format with the months but that doesnt mean march people cant post here instead, in fact im glad you are coz ill miss you otherwise! I cant believe you have to wait til 8.5 weeks for ur scan u poor thing! Im bloated like a big balloon too, glad im not the only one lol!
Hoping4amiracle - we are up to the same stage :) Im only 4 weeks and i look like im 5 months pregnant! I agree ivf babies are more special hehe.. alot of blood sweat and tears getting them here. How are you feeling with the ohss, ive still got it and my stomach is sooo sore. When is your second blood test? Im so nervous coz thats when i m/c by yrs ago when i got preg so very anxious.
Sandra - I also check every time i go to the loo and think in horror what if i see red.. im glad the clinic said your discoloration is ok, so nervewracking isnt it. Bleeding and spotting is meant to be very common with ivf. I havent been ravenous but i notice i get hungry alot, stomach constantly rumbling!
AFM: yay we have a little family! Thats you guys
I still have OHSS, very very bloated and huge, sore stomach whenever i walk, move etc and get dizzy if im standing for long. Also a bit constipated grr! Stomach rumbling often, raindrop is always demanding food lol. Im so anxious about my second BT on wednesday its all i can think about...

Burbon - Apparently because my hcg, estrogen and progesterone levels were so high, I dont have to have another blood test, and I have been taken off of all medications. Now I just have to sit and wait for my scan on the 30th August. On one hand I am nervous, and on the other I feel very positive. I am very bloated, but the pain has subsided quite a bit. I am very tired though and I feel a little nauseous which I dont know if this is OHSS or morning sickness. Last time when I had OHSS however the pain and bloating went on forever (eg until I was 16 weeks). I really hope that you start to feel better soon, as this isn't a nice start to pregnancy. Honestly I really recommend you get maternity pants - they are so much more comfortable that trying to get trackies and normal clothes to stretch to fit. You can get some really good brands cheap on Ebay. My girlfriend got some jeans on there for $20 or $30 dollars and then resold them for $100!
Ange81 - Ah yes they certainly are! Do you have OHSS as well? It seems like there are a few of us with it at the moment. Shame it really isn't a nice start to pregnancy. It will be nice to get to know you and everyone!

Hello ladies:wave:
Hey it looks like we are all bloated and fat:yelclap: I was walking around woolies tonight with my preggo belly and everyone was looking at me, I used to stare at pregnant women myself as I was so amazed by them and now I just cant believe I am the pregnant women being stared at (even if it os OHSS).
I agree I LOVE my new maternity pants, they are so comfy, much better than tracky's might have to check out those maternity jeans they sound interesting.
I also agree that IVF babies are special - we have all been though so much and so deserve this more than anyone:yes:
My symptoms are not liking much food (apart from ice cream and hot chips) and feeling very tired, I get funny pains when I eat or after I eat too, but I also think thats more to do with the ovaries in my case anyway......
How exciting for all of these scans, you all have to wait so long, I have my 2nd scan on 13th Aug, I will be almost 8 weeks then, the Dr told me it will be much more exciting as I will see arm buds and the baby will have grown lots since the first one:smiliedance:
Make sure you all have plenty of tissues at your first scans ladies, it very emotional xxxx
PS To the ladies in the other thread (AKA lurkers) I will come over there too and think its good that I get to be in both, I am going to be spoilt xxxx
Hi Ladies
Not sure if I have said this but :yelclap:Bourbon on your BFP. I had great feelings about that transfer. Seems like the OHSS were all worth it for the outcome. Thats great news.
Well girls, I will only be a lurker from time to time but I have our FET in about 3 weeks so should that be successful :fingerscrossed: then I will be in May, and if not we will have next FET and should that be successful I will be due June (my DD birthday).
So maybe, just maybe, I may join you in this tread. Otherwise ALL enjoy your pregnancies. It is the BEST feeling ever. I just loved my expanding belly and my waddling ways - and then pushing a watermelon through my small smoo  was the icing on the cake.
I will let you in on one small funny story when Mya was 5 days old. We were living at mums as our house was being built. The hospital likes you to do a poo before you leave and I was able to push a pebble.
But when I was home and due to breast feeding (which I did not master at all) I was NOT hungry, and then noticed I hadnt done a poo in 2 days. I started to stress because I was permanently sitting on a tube as my smoo was sore. So mum made a roast for fibre that night and Zok rang the hospital and I took some Sorbitol. It said 20ml for extreme case, but Zok gave me 25ml and I said that was fine -
2 hours later (10pm), I was breast feeding Mya and said to Zok, I need to go to the toilet. (I had an overwhelming bum spasm). Well, Zok as slow as he is (actually I dont know how his swimmers made it up my tubes) took Mya, but as I started to walk, I knew I wasnt going to make it. I stopped and yelled Zok. I took a step and diarorhea started down my legs. I kept s hitting the whole way to the toilet. I then started crying as I thought I had lost my entire insides to my bowel. After a long cry and a shower, I got dressed and went down to continue feeding. Well, 10 mins later on the rocker, I said to Zok "Its happening again"... (well, he did come flying to me at that point  and grabbed Mya. I knew I wasnt going to make the toilet (and as our room was set up in an "indoor alfresco") I flung open the back door, ran outside, whipped my pants down and shat on the grass. Being June, it started to rain on me and we had a 2yo Alaskan Malamute who was licking my bottom (sorry TMI). Its so funny now, but I was bawling. I looked behind me to see Zok and Mya gentle rocking on the baby rocker in a warm home while I was stripped outside in the rain, with poo down my legs and our pooches nose up my bum. He didnt even offer me toilet paper !!
So after another shower, Zok got mum and she moved me to the back bedroom incase I needed the loo - but I was all poo'd out by then.
I have plenty of others but will pop in from time to time to share - as that will be my small contribution.
Oh - and just to reassure you all - I poo fine now. xxx

Mya- thankyou for that story- I can imagine it wasnt funny at the time but certainly is when looking back at it. I really hope your FET works and you will be due May.
lauralollipop- Lucky you- having 2 scans in such a short period of time.
Hoping4amiracle- glad to hear your levels were all so high. It sucks having to wait so long though for a scan.
Bourbon- sorry to hear your bloating still isnt better, although its a good sign that you are still pregnant. I'm sure your BT will be fine.
AFM: I just cant believe how tired I am- I was out like a light by 8pm last night, and was only woken by my husbands alarm at 6am- no sleep in as he had to go to work. I am still yawning but cant go back to sleep too many things I need to do- including going to medicare to get some money back from our IVF- it will all go into an account to start saving for our OB.
I am definitely sleeping in tomorrow.
Still no more blood. :fingerscrossed: it stays that way.

Cant sleep, woke up early again and after lying in bed for ages decided to just get up. Hard though coz DH is asleep & trying not to wake him.
Sandra - im worried coz im not tired! In the afternoon i have a quick nap on the couch but thats it. I went to m/care last week for my rebate but they said they have to send ivf ones away so god knows how long its going to take. Im glad there is no more blood, what a relief for you x
Mya - OMG im trying not to wake up DH but your poo story had me in fits of laughter!!! You poor thing! I love that you can be so open about it, we need laughter at the moment! I hope your cycle results in a bfp and you can come join our little group
Laura - was it bra's n things u said u got the maternity pants from? What kind of pants are they, material colour etc? The 8 wk scan sounds exciting! Q: do the dildo cam scans hurt when u have swollen ovaries and is it possible for them to dislodge a pregnancy?
H4AM - what was you oestrogen on? Mine was on 16,000 a week ago and they are really worried. AND im on the Colorado Protocol which means im on oestrogen patches! But they r scared of stopping them yet in case thats whats holding the pregnancy together which worries me.
AFM: Woke up early again and have a wheezy feeling in chest which makes me cough so decided to get up. Ovaries hurt alot in the morning after lying down all night. Going to venture out today, got a GP appt to get Ob referral, then food shopping with DH. Last time i went food shopping he had to rush me home coz i was so faint feeling and dizzy so wish me luck! I just dont want to be inside all the time, i feel some light walking may help things in between all the rest i get. Not working which is great coz quit my job after 1st failed ivf a yr ago and having a big big fight with the biartch boss. Was doing so much unpaid overtime and she knew about the ivf, was good for couple of days then turned evil! Piled heaps of work & stress on me (more than i already had) and other workers would get off early and not do half the work. Long story but i hated her for it. I ran out in tears one day yelling thanks for making my ivf fail and sat in the toilets bawling.
Laura - when walking around the shops some of those women would have been like us (struggled to fall pregnant) and now looking and u thinking Lucky girl!!! such a great feeling isnt it, now it is finally our turn!! wish i could have had a 6 week scan, but if i can see alot more by my 8.5 week one, i guess i will just wait it out. im so looking forward to what i will see. doesnt seem real i imagine until u see it on the screen!
Mya - thanks for coming into our thread to wish us luck!! i am positive u will join us very soon!! thanks for the funny story too!!
Sandra - i hear ya on the tired thing! i work as a courier and driving around all day is taking its toll! i finished up at 2.30 yesterday... was resting all arvo, just had a cup of tea, Pasta for dinner, which actually made me feel sick, and was in bed by 9 and woke by 9!
Bourbon - i understand about the thread.. its fine really.. i guess it should be this way... as long as laura here too, and hopefully we can still keep in touch with a few of the other march girls, all is fine.. Might too, also pop into the march thread... being april 1st, and ahead in this group, it will be good to hear from others a couple/few weeks ago of myself!
hoping4amiracle - no, i havnt had any OHSS luckily, im sorry for u girls who have! one main symptom i have is gastro though, have had it ever since ET, starting to feel a little Off some foods, last night i didnt sleep to great either... same with night before, but otherwise feeling good! 6w, 1 day today for me! the last fortnight has gone surprisingly fast and it will for u and the girls still around the 4-5 week! i have also heard about buying maternity clothes from ebay!!! alot cheaper, and u can get some decent stuff! alot of stuff for bubs too i will be getting from ebay.. Well, already have in regards to some clothes etc, lots of people sell brand new clothing never worn, might have been given to them as gifts, and you can get it for a couple of $! i agree, ebays def worth a look..

Bourbon- I'm sure tiredness will kick in for you at some stage during your pregnancy. Trust me I wish I wasnt tired- so much to do but so little energy!!! Light walking will help the OHSS-movement will help the bloating and water retention.
ange- I'm not a courier but do alot of driving too. With all the driving during the week I try and avoid driving on the weekend and try and palm it off to me DH.
AFM: I went to medicare this morning. They told me I will get the money in my bank account within 2-5 business days. I have reached the 80% threshold and will be getting back $4700. Meaning this round I am out of pocket only $355.00. Very excited as that will go towards our OB once we book one!!!

Went to my GP this morning and got my referral to my Ob. She gave me heaps of forms for info and the downs test blood and u/s forms for when i need it. I am going to check if im sml, med or high risk.
Then i went food shopping with DH and that was HARD!! My back hurt and my stomach felt like a tightly coiled spring the whole time, i just couldnt wait to come home.
And the tiredness has kicked in today, i got home, went to bed and zonked out for hrs and still feel tired!
Sandra - Wow how did you get back so much from m/care? Were you on the safety net before the ivf started?
sandramm1
08-08-2010, 14:52
Pretty quiet in here today.
I gave my 2 fur babies a good wash and a trim today and then have been relaxing for most of the day.
Bourbon- I dont know how I got so much back- I wasnt expecting it. Last time I only got $3999 back from medicare which is still good but obviously not as good as this time round. I cant claim anything through my private health though as all services are outpatient so Ii'm glad I got so much back from medicare

Sandra - Im still waiting on my rebate, i took the invoice in to Medicare last week but they said they had to send it away. Cant wait for the money back! And its good that we will now all be on the safety net so things will be cheaper!
I also washed my furbaby (well DH did), we go to a local pet shop on a sunday and it only costs $2 for the proper hydro bath so its heaps easier and my dog doesnt have to freeze with cold water either!
DH is away until thursday now with work, im gonna starve lol... it kills my back to stand for any length of time so my meals are going to have to be nutricious and simple.
Im still getting weird stomach pains each day, mainly when i just begin to eat or afterwards. I was thinking it was 'wind pain' but ive been going to the loo fine lately so hope its nothing bad. Im so nervous about my second blood test this wednesday!
Been noticing i get very tired around 1-2pm each day and need a nap. Also have been noticeably dizzy lately too which i read can be a preg symptom. My appetite has gone down though (should i be worried??) and ive gone off chocolate and pancakes, no interest in them what so ever (thank god..).
How is everyone else feeling?
hope everyones had a good weekend!!! its gone way too quickly...
actually woke up this morning feeling sick! felt like i was going to vomit, but didnt... the smell of my coffee seemed off, feeling passed after a couple of hrs..
we washed our furbaby this weekend too! :)
we got our money back from medicare during the week! so glad!! :smiliedance:

Ange - ive worked out my due date as 11 april but i want to confirm that with Hollywood Fertility as they havent actually told me. I get my 5wk BT next week and at 7 wks get the u/s. Im so terrified as i m/c this time a couple of yrs ago (eg by the second BT), i just want reassurance everything is ok.
Im also scared because ive got this pain in my left side and all i can think now is it better not be etopic ahhh...
I have had pain in my left side for a yr though and no one seems to know why so hope its nothing :fingerscrossed:
What other symptoms have you had? Im just a bit tired during the day, dizzy and gone off chocolate and most sweet things. I dont feel sick or overly hungry but my stomach rumbles a bit more often for food even though i dont feel like eating!
yeah i worked out i was wrong, was reading your ticker as though it was 4th april, not starting from the 4th of july! :) silly baby brain is already starting.. looked online at what a 6 week old fetus looks like! just amazing! i cry at some of the online stuff - cant wait for scan! it will be amazing!
headachy, sometimes just have a major pain in the sides of my head.. bit dizzy, sore boobs, Tired! (definitely more tired), i feel like napping by early arvo, and been getting in 10-12 hr sleeps at night! and just this morning the feeling sick, but it passed.. if i eat crappy food i feel sick too, and only eating bit and a time.. i cant stomahe big meals anymore, i feel like i cant fit it in!

I know im so looking forward to the scan (provided everything is ok!) and im sure i will cry!
Im so lucky my DH is a fantastic cook so we eat really healthy and yummy meals :)
The only 'unhealthy' thing we have really is dark chocolate in the evening sometimes and pancakes on sundays but i dont want either anymore, just dont crave those things at all which im glad since caffeine can increase the risk of m/c.
Im still suffering from OHSS so been waking up early in the morning. If i have a full bladder my stomach hurts so thats prob why i wake up, only prob i then find it hard to get back to sleep! But yeah definately napping during the day! Im just lucky im not working so can concentrate fully on myself.
Man im freezing at the moment, its sooo cold i wish i could have the heater on but with the power bill going up i dont want a nasty surprise come bill time!
I might look up what a foetus looks like at different stages, it is amazing to think they are growing inside us :)
yeah its so interesting to see all the growth happening and so much starts to happen from around week 6 to 10!
i wish i wasnt working, but as my job is on the road and i do a bit of lifting etc, i think it wont be too long until i leave! i am thinking sometime thru october, (i guess when im noticably showing).. see how it all goes.. im glad they are understandable and flexible.. ive been coming home sometimes between 2 and 4, and they r fine with that! :)

 Morning ladies.
Gosh I hate Mondays. I was saying to hubby yesterday it would be so nice to have 3 day weekends all the time.
I too have been looking at development shots of little bubs. I cant wait for my scan next week, which is when I will be 7 weeks!!!
I hope this week flies by quickly- I really want to see my baby/ies and make sure they are fine.

Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to this, so hope I'm doing the right thing and just jumping right into your conversation. My husband and I have unexplained infertility and have been TTC for 10 years, but have only been doing fertility treatment as of half way through last year and this year. I have just found out that I am pregnant for the first time in my life. I am only 2/3 weeks so I know anything can happen, but am so excited I could burst! Need something like 'you girls' to share with. I love the idea of this support network, there's nothing else out there for these early stages.

Bourbon - here is a site you can go to work out your DD based on ivf EPU date. I used this to work it out and it lined up exactly with my FS estimation...
Hope it helps.

Morning everyone
Where have laura and hoping4amiracle and everyone else been hiding? Dont make me come and hunt you down
Sandra - ooh the 7wk scan, nervous and yet very very exciting! Cant wait to hear how it goes, is your DH going with you? I have always been a believer that weekends should be sat, sun and mon not just the two days. Im lucky coz im not working at the moment but when i was by the time you clean the house do washing etc you havent had a weekend! Owell soon youll be a mummy looking after bubbs just keep that in the back of your mind
Everafter - at first i thought you were in the wrong thead and were still TTC but then i read your happy news - congratulations!!! :smiliedance: :smiliedance:
If you have found out youre definately pregnant you would be more than 2/3 weeks. By our first blood test we are 4 weeks. You work it out from the first day of your missed period (slightly different with ivf) so you are prob further along than you think yay!
Did you do ivf? Wow 10yrs is a long time, im so happy its finally happened for you, has it sunk in yet?! Very happy for you to be in our little 'family' and looking forward in hearing about your progress.
AFM: Well DH left this morning for wk and is away until thurs :crying: lucky i have my furbaby to look after me! Now i need to train her to cook my meals lol..
I poas this morning lol... just checking... and the preg line was darker than the control line. I am just so scared of a chemical like last time and wont rest until my next blood test on wednesday.
As for symtoms: no morning sickness, stomach rumbles for food but dont 'feel' hungry, dizzy, tired during the day - yesterday i fell asleep at lunch time and also again in front of tv after dinner! Apart from that not many symptoms yet. Its funny im wishing sickness and sore boobs on myself yet i may never get those things and the preg can still be fine!

Hi Bourbon, I was wondering that myself...so thankyou for letting me know, how cool! I was going from the insemination date (not the date of last period) as I thought that it'd be different when you know the actual day of conception. See this is why this group is so good, we can help each other so much. So I guess Im more like 4 weeks from my calculations then.
You sound like you are having an amazing time of it so far. It will be wonderful watching your posts and following your pregnacy.
I had a blood test last wednesday and when the fertility clinic rang the nurse said that my HCG and progesterone levels were nice and high.
My only symptoms so far is feeling really hungry and waking up at night and not being able to get back to sleep. I never considered feeling hungry a symptom of early pregnacy before reading this thread, as I always associated it with later stage pregnacy. So it's nice to here others out there having the same feelings. I had also just put it down to the high dosage of prednisone I am on, so was very surprised to see those two lines. :bfp:

Ladies another way to count EDD but only works for the ladies that had EPU, is count exactly 38weeks from EPU day.If its twins take 2 weeks off due date cause 38weeks is full term for twins.Hope that helps too.

Well my 7 week scan is booked for the 19th August -they were booked out on the 17th and 18th. I have been told it will be a transvaginal one- lucky me!!! Just glad I dont need to drink litres of water.
hi everyone, and welcome to everafter!!! congrats on your pregnancy news!!! so very exciting isnt it!! 10 yrs is a long wait!!! so glad u started fertility treatment and it has been successful! has this been your first ivf or did it take a few goes?? :)
i'm home from work early yet again, so glad my work is flexible, i am lucky!! always starting to feel tired and headachy by 2pm.
bourbon - enjoy being just about symptom free.. im sure if morning sickness is to come it will from week 6-8, prior to that, we prob shouldnt feel much different at all, just the last couple of days a few things have made me wanna vomit, but i havnt! thankfully.. :)

Ange - oh thats good that you are home from wk early, do they know about your pregnancy yet? I also get really tired by 2pm. I just woke up from a huge nap and i feel a little sick.. i see why you said enjoy being symptom free! Take it easy and dont work too hard
Sandra - Wow we are due very close together, you the 4th, me the 11th! Yay for your scan being booked, and i agree thank god we dont have to guzzle water. I didnt drink enough at my transfer so they could only see my huge swollen ovaries!
Plsjust - thanks for your help, how are you feeling?
Everafter - lol, yeah my dad still doesnt believe me that im nearly 5 weeks. He goes "no thats not right, you only had the transfer on this date ... :ecomcity: ) and i said "seriously i am! Its confusing but its taken from beginning of month etc etc.." i could still hear his doubt in his voice lol! I also wake up in the middle of night, seems to be my bladder waking me! Then i find it hard getting back to sleep also. Hey what are you on the prednisolone for? Im on the Colorado Protocol so i was on it for 5 days this cycle. I have an auto immune disease so was hoping that would help things.
Hi to everyone else, hope youre going well
AFM: feeling very dizzy and sleepy! Gotta cook tea soon and i really cant be bothered. Unfortunately my cheff (DH) is away til thurs! .. might get started now so i can rest on couch, raindrop is getting hungry!
bourbon- i prob worded it wrong, mean't for u to enjoy being almost symptom free! :) as u were wishing for sore boobs etc and hasnt happened yet..
yes work know - thats the only reason i can leave early cause its a male dominant industry i am in and so they r soo supportive! otherwise i would be stuck on 9-10 hr days. told both my work places straight away and some family, and 3 friends, no one else is going to know till i have my 13.5 week scan (2nd scan)..
my dad too was like 'u that far along already.. its gone quick'.. said this when i told him i was 5 weeks.

I really want to tell more people than just my mum but dont want to jinx us.
I had a really yummy super fast pizza tonight- made with a lebanese bread, tomato paste, grilled eggplant, mushrooms, capsicum, olives and cheese and a salad. So hungry when I get home from work around 5pm.

Thanks for the warm welcome Bourbon,Sandra & Ange.
Can I be put down for a 14/04/11 due date.:smiliedance:
Bourbon- I am actually on the Prednisolone due to a inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis). At first I was very concerned about being on the drug while TTC, but my FS assured me it was ok, and was even sometimes used in pregnacy. So that has made me alittle more at ease. It sounds like we may end up being quite good support for each other.
Sandra- You've dashed my hopes of all these Trans vag scans being over with, when you posted that thats what your 19th August scan is going to be! Guess us IVF's stopped being any kind of shy ages ago, hey!
I can understand you not wanting to tell to many people and jinx it- we weren't sure either, but figured everyone knew we were going through IVF anyway and I guess I'll have more support if anything bad (touch wood) does happen.
Plsjust1more- Congrats on your twins! That's awesome. We were told we have the possability of twins, but I guess alot of us are in that boat. Of course I'll just be happy with one healthy little miracle.
Hoping4AMiracle- Love your profile name!
I think we all have a totally different way of looking at life to those out there lucky enough the never have to resort to fertility treatment.
Question to all- I am 34yrs old and I have a sister 3yrs older than me, she also has "unexplained infertility" (apparently no hereditary link, just a coincidence)and started IVF quite some years before me. I have just told her that I am pregnant and even though she is truely 'over the moon' I would like some advice on the hard times that I am sure are to come in sharing all this with her. We are very close, but I know even I would find it alittle hard if the shoe were on the other foot.

Ange - Its good your work knows so that they can be supportive when you need it. I find the men are actually alot better and understanding sometimes than the women! I had a bitter female boss who had never been married or had kids make my life a living hell while going through my first ivf. After alot of problems i ended up quitting rather than wasting my money on ivf and having it fail from work stress.
Sandra - i feel the same way, i want to yell it from the rafters but am being very cautious, only family know about it. Your pizza sounded yummy, DH and i love making home made pizza - those pita type bread bases called 'Bizarre' are excellent and turn out soo crispy and delicious!
Everafter - I added your DD, if you want me to add any appointment dates just ask. Yeah i think the pred is fine to use during pregnancy. I have multiple sclerosis and was worried about my body rejecting the embie but they said that 5 days on it was enough. Hopefully theyre right. You are in a hard situation with your sister, she would be so happy for you but gutted inside for herself. I can only imagine how hard this is for both of you. How many ivf cycles has she done? How many did you do? Hopefully some of your baby dust rubs off on her soon and you can both celebrate together :babydust2:
AFM: Had a horrible time cooking dinner tonight, im finding i hard to stand for a length of time (from ohss) i get really short of breath and tired and sore back and stomach. DH usually does all the cooking which is great but he's away til thurs :(
Have got weird pains on and off in different areas of my stomach has anyone else got this?

everafter- I dont know if the first scan for everyone is a trasn-vag one or if thats just the preference of my clinic.
I know when I told my mum about it- she was horrified as she had never had one before- although the last time she was pregnant was 27 years ago- lol
Ange- thats so nice to hear that your work and colleagues are so supportive of you and its not a "boys club".
Bourbon- so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with cooking dinner and being able to stand for long. Do you have a slow cooker or could you put on dinner in the morning or after lunch when perhaps you arent as tired? Or cook up lots and then you ahve left-overs for the next day. I'm not having any weird stomach pains at the moment. All my symptoms have gone really- the heaviness and cramps have stopped- so just praying all is still well.
AFM: another day at work- ho hum- its raining here today- so glad its an office day for me and no driving :smiliedance:

hi guys...just sticking my nose in to say congratulations to everyone ...yay for IVF success and lots more lovely babies!!!
Everafter - i was actually put on Pred to help me get pregnant and stayed on it till 12 weeks...so not bad for bubs :-) They did want to get me off it at 12 weeks though as it was ONLY for pregnancy for me...not sure if you needed it beforehand what they will suggest but all the diff people i have seen have been very positive about it.

Hi Girls,
Hope you're all feeling good today. I'm finding myself being drawn to this site more and more as I'm getting to know you all. Which is a nice feeing after years of feeling like an "outsider" amongst my friends that started having children at a "normal" age.
Bourbon-I am having weird pains too. I couldn't get to sleep until after 2am this morning. Not because it hurt too much, I think the fear of something going wrong shot to much adrenaline into my system. It's so hard to stay calm. But to hear you say you are feeling the say way helps(not that I want you to feel it either)we are at a very similar stage of pregnacy...so I'm going to think of it as normal now, thank you. My sister has had 3 IVF cycles, so she shouldn't give up yet, by all means and I think I have given her hope again. This is where I feel a little guilty. We had planned to have 3 IUI cycles and then if they didn't work, then we'd start IVF. I fell pregnant on our last IUI cycle. So I feel in the middle of two groups- I've had to fight for a baby harder and for longer than the 'normal' person, but I haven't had as hard a struggle as IVF's.
I am also having my second blood test 11/8, same as you:fingerscrossed:
Sandra- I think I'll just look at it in the positive light you did and say at least with the Trans/v scan you don't have to drink heaps of water.
Ange- My very first consult with a Fertility Specialist was this time last year. So it took a long time (in my eyes) to get to the stage where I was only up to having 3 IUI cycles completed last month (July). But can't complain when the last one worked and I didn't have to go ahead with the scheduled IVF.
Greenapple- My fingers will remain crossed for you.I hope you have a bun in the oven soon.:fingerscrossed:
Moo79,KimlnMellie,plsjust1more,lauralollipop,Hopin g4AMiracle- How are you all?

Everafter - wow we are feeling so similiar! I also get shots of adrenalin coursing through my body from nerves and i try to stop it because i read stress hormones can cross the placenta but how im meant to turn my over active brain off i dont know! I guess BH doesnt help but im addicted to this place and the support i get from you all.
So we can both stress about our blood tests tomorrow! I just want everything to be ok, it still doesnt seem real to me yet. The fact that you have been TTC for such a long time and did lots of IUIs count for something. Agreed ivf is very very hard but i wouldnt wish that on anyone. Whatever method brings us our much wanted babies
Smiley - thanks buddy for the kind message :) Hope youre doing well x
Sandra - I love listening to the rain outside hence my eggs being named Rain-drop
If youre inside its great, just not much fun if you have to run through it! Stay nice and warm. Yes i think ill take your advice and cook dinner even earlier. Im a bit wary about eating left overs at the moment in case they hurt raindrop..
Hi to Ange, Laura, Moo79, Hoping4amiracle - you all have been quiet lately, or maybe i just talk too much
AFM: Keep getting bouts of dizziness. Also the odd pain here and there which comes and goes. I notice my stomach rumbling but i dont feel that hungry, i eat for Raindrop lol.. Getting nervous about my second blood test tomorrow, PLS let everything be ok :fingerscrossed:
think u must be just way too talkative bourbon
one thing i have been noticing is i cannot sleep thru the whole night without going to the toilet! its usually a 4am-5am wake up, and then i just Cannot get back to sleep for prob a good hr! its driving me nuts!! i also am finding now eating small meals all thru out day is a good idea, helps not to feel sick... since sunday been feeling a little sick, feeling like i could vomit but dont! i sure hope it stays that way too! :)
everafter - I did one IUI and then decided i wont bother with that anymore due to the low chances of it working.. so u did 3 all up, and no ivf?.. thats lucky u didnt have to go thru all the ivf! i thought i may as well go straight to ivf to give it my best shot! i too, have just been getting medical help for a bit over a yr - may 09. 4 months of metformin, 7 rounds of clomid, 1 iui and 1 ivf, a million scans later, a ton of blood tests later and appointments etc etc, and glad im finally here! not to mention a lot of $ as we all have spent, but to be preg now its been worth every single cent and im going to enjoy every min of it! :)
bourbon - im glad work r supportive too, otherwise i tell u i would have quit!! theres no way i would deal with stress while going thru an ivf or a pregnancy! so u rest up all u can and enjoy every min, so glad it worked for u this time around! im sure being stress free from work definitely helped! :hugs:
hi to everyone else!!!

No-one in here to keep me company! Helllloooo... lol
Its my 4am bladder wake up call and as usual i cant get back to sleep, thought id try to make myself tired by coming on the computer for a bit...
bourbon - i should come on tomorrow morning, do the same! lol.. like clock work, i wake at 4am this morning and then took about an hr before i could get back to sleep!!
i have today off thankfully, but i have a million things to do! hi everyone!
 Hi Ladies!
Sorry I've been AWOL, work has been nutso! But I've trying to keep up with how everyone is feeling.
Ange I am exactly the same - every night, without fail, I have to get up for the loo at least twice!
Bourbon I'm so sorry you're feeling a bit cr*ppy! But in the end, it will all be worth it (well, that's what I have to keep telling myself, anyway )
Everafter I am so happy for your falling on your 3rd IUI! It puts such hope in my heart - my BF is just starting her 3rd IUI, & I keep telling her it's 3rd time lucky, so :fingerscrossed: she has the same luck as you!
AFM, I AM 6 WEEKS TODAY! Whoo hoo, I am so happy to have made it to this small milestone. I have been exhausted, but then if I go to bed too late, I am wide awake & can't sleep! Poor DH, with all of my tossing & turning!
And from yesterday I have started to feel really nauseous, particularly in the afternoons & evenings, which is awesome! DH has really stepped up though & is doing all the cooking, & generally just tending to me slothing around on the lounge! Poor thing, I don't know how long that's going to last for!

Moo79 - sorry your work is so crazy and at a time you probably wish it was quiet! Congrats on being 6 weeks!! Im exactly a week before you being 5 wks today.
Im like you awake at the oddest hrs and tossing and turning. So much so that i sleep in the spare room when it gets too bad so poor DH gets some sleep.
Ange - Hope youre enjoying your day off
AFM: After waiting anxiously all day i finally got my BT results for my 5wk BT:
Oestrogen: 18,880
Progesterone: 1896
HCG: gone from 320 to 3,426 :smiliedance:
They are happy with the levels but still concerned that my oest is soooo high. I asked what the FS has said about it, apparently he is away! Hmm i said has anyone seen the results then and apparently its been recommended i reduce my oest patches to one every second day instead of 2.
At first i had an inexperienced nurse on the phone who was useless and wasnt even going to pass this info on to me until i demanded to speak to someone with more 'knowledge and experience'!

 just a really quick message because I really am not up to posting right now. I had a very big scare yesterday- sitting at my desk and TMI- I felt something gush between my legs- went to the toilet and it was blood- I almost fainted right there and then.
Rang the clinic and they told me to come in for a BT in the morning, and that if the bleeding continued to go to an afterhours clinic.
Well thank goodness it didnt continue.
I had my BT this morning and it got the results this afternoon and my HCG is 15 000, which the nurse said was good but that the ultrasound that I will have will really show me whats going on- but they cant give me my ultrasound until my booked time next Thursday- so will be a very anxious wait until then.
So if you dont hear from me for awhile- its probably mostly because I am s*it scared and am consumed with worry. I will try and check in on you all and see how you are going.
take care everyone.

Hi everyone:wave:
Sorry I have been MIA, I have been feeling like total crap and had heaps of study to do for uni, its not going so well, so I am thinking of deferring, but just not sure I can cope with 8 months of doing nothing and been home alone all day:no:
Sandra - Oh you poor darling, I am hoping that everything is going to be just fine for you, but you must be going crazy with worry. I would go to ER and see if they can do one for you, so you don't have to drive yourself crazy with the wait.
Bourbon - great results there, I have gone down to only 2 progesterone pesseries last week, so hope my levels are still ok - yrs are well high!
 to everyone else, I hope you are all well, I am srry but I have to go now as feel very nauseas, I have my 8 week scan on Friday, so will try and pop in then to update you all.
take care ladies xxxx
hello ladies, I hope you dont mind me joining in this thread, I have been lurking but wasnt ready to join in yet!!
After 5 IVF attempts I finally got my BFP and am now 7.5 weeks!!
bourbon- hiya, thank you for starting this thread, I dont know if you remember me but I was in the IVFers thread sometime back! Congratulations on your BFP I am so happy that you have made it!! I hope you get that OHSS under control!..are you on Oestrogen patches??..can they stop them if your oestrogen is that high?
sandramm- hiya, I hope you are ok and not stressing to much..I know this is way harder said than done as I too have just had your experience!!Bleeding and spotting is really common in early pregnancy and can last the whole 12weeks for some (whole preg in others!) I started spotting/bleeding at about 4.5weeks and have been eversince! The bt's showed HCG was still going up as it should but I couldnt relax until I had a scan! They sent me in for an early scan (6weeks) and told me the news didnt look good but to go home and rest until the 7 week scan. Well 7week scan showed healthy little bean and HB 140! They have also put me on Provera to help stop the bleeding.
I know the wait for your scan is excruciating but the fact that your HCG levels are so good is a good sign and to be honest, going in for that early scan can be more stressful as they cant see things clearly and can misconstue what they are seeing! Are you going in for another BT beforehand, I would suggest that just to reassure you a little.

Hayls - I sure do remember you, very nice to see you here in the preg thread and im glad you finally joined us
7.5 wks thats excellent, so have you had your first scan then? How many bubbies do you have in there? Im so happy its finally worked for you.
My oestrogen is a long story... im on the colorado protocol which says to stay on patches til 12 weeks. After pulling teeth i finally got some answers from the clinic and am reducing the dose.
Laura - im only on 2 pessaries a day and have been from the start although at first i was on crinone gel. My levels are all huge, my body doesnt like to do things simply! I hope your sickness goes away and you can start feeling human again soon. Do you eat frequent small meals? Im waiting and wondering if ill get morning sickness! So far just get a bit queasy but im only 5 wks.. Maybe its a good idea to defer your studies with so much going on at the moment? Unless you want the distraction.
Sandra - oh honey how worrying for you :hugs: did you have one or two babies in there at your scan? I notice alot of people have been bleeding lately when they are losing a twin. That said bleeding during ivf is very very common and doesnt always mean something is wrong. Your hcg is good still thank god, pity they cant put your mind at rest with an earlier u/s. Hang in there, the worrying never ends i know.

Sandra- My heart missed a beat when I started reading your message. What a scary thing to have happen to you. Glad things seam to be under control now, but can't believe you have to wait till next thursday to know more at your scan. I hope that the message that Hayls sent you helps re-assure you. Remember we're all here if you need to 'vent' but understand if you're off line till then, we'll all be thinking of you anyway.:hugs:
Hayls- WELCOME and congrats on being 7.5 weeks, can't wait to get where you are. Each week really does mean so much to all of us, doesn't it?
Lauralollipop-Goodluck with your 8 week scan on friday.:yelclap:
Moo79- Tell your BF that it CAN happen on only the 3rd try.Even though I was doudtful myself-[after trying naturally for 10yrs, you'd think at some stage the timing would have been right, especially with taking temp, charts ect] so I was quite sure it was going to take IVF for it to happen for us. Wish her luck for me.
Ange-I am also waking in the early morning (around 3am) and taking an hour or so to get back to sleep. I never knew that this was a normal thing of early pregnacy. I'm not feeling sick yet, though it's probably still a little early for me yet.
KimInMellie-Thank you for the well widhes for my BT. I will be getting the results in the morning so I'll let you know how I went.
Bourbon- Congrats on the great BT levels. Good on you for sticking up for yourself at the clinic. Don't these people know we've been stuffed around enough by even having to go through fertility treatment, they don't need to add to our headaches! Well done!:yelclap:
 Everyone
Just some words of encouragement for Sandra - when I was around 6 weeks preg, I felt some wetness and saw that I had filled my pantyliner full of blood. I started crying but a scan THAT DAY showed "RJ" (DD) was fine and healthy.
While spotting and some bleeding is extremely common, I think it is always best to get it checked out. Im in perth and I rang a hosptial who got me in 2 hours later for a scan (internal). I dont see why you should have to wait. I made an appointment myself as I wouldnt have been in any state to wait. If you feel the need, make some enquiries and see if you can get an internal scan at any hospital.
Best of luck love. xx

Thanks everyone for the lovely words of encouragement. I have requested an early scan and they have said there isnt any point as they can see things clearer at 7 weeks more so than at 6 weeks, so like Hayls said its probably best that I wait until the 7 week one anyway when they are more likley to be certain. 7 sleeps to go before scan.
hi guys!
lissy- thanks chicky and congrats to you too!! I have been quietly lurking in this and the other thread and following you guys!
sandramm- Do you have further blood tests before your scan? That will help set your mind at ease a little while you are waiting..I know every day feels so long when we have to wait!!
bourbon- hiya, I had my first scan at 6weeks because of the bleeding but it was more stressful for me as they couldnt see things clearly and basically told me the fetal pole showed no heartbeat and to go home and expect the worst!! Then a week later (monday just gone) was my 7week scan and everything was good, heartbeat and little bean doing nicely! I havent heard of the colorado protocol but I'm glad they are dropping your oestrogen..seems commonsense?!
everafter- thanks for the welcome, yes every week and every day is a milestone!! How are you feeling?
afm- Had another huge scare last night!!..this pregnancy is definately out to test me!! Was on the phone to a girlfriend when I felt a whoosh down below so raced to the bathroom to check and to my horror there was Red blood everywhere (sorry TMI) I had to ring after hours number and all they could tell me was to rest and come in this morning for another scan! So it was a long night as my dh is away til tomo so I was on my own. Well went in for scan today and everything still fine!! Apparently it is a dissidual bleed that is also quite common especially in IVFers, it is possibly a broken blood vessel which can happen as the baby is still burrowing but it doesnt affect the baby at all!

Hi Everyone,
Have been thinking of you all. Seems like we're all starting to have our own crisis, in one form or another.
Now eveyone just tell your babies to stop it! and start behaving! and lets just all have nice calm pregnancies from here on in, deal? lol
-Sorry, just had to break the tention! If only it was that easy hey girls?!
Finally got my results from my BT yesterday.
HCG= 7,837
Progesterone= 109.1
My first scan is booked for the 24th August.
Love to you all!
P.s My boobs aren't sore yet, does that matter? I know it's different for everone, but usually that's one of the first symptoms.
P.s.s Seems terrible mentioning something so minor after what Hayls just wrote! So sorry Hayls please forgive me- you have much more on your mind! I'll be thinking of ya babe!

Everafter - preg scares are the worst :fingerscrossed: none of us have to go through any more!
Wow your HCG levels are high, i thought mine were good but yours are even better! Your scan is booked for the day before mine :) Bring it on i say!
Hayls - oh man like you need any terrifying scares like that one at the moment! Im glad the u/s showed everything was ok. The same thing happened to my pathology lady a yr ago and she has had a healthy baby
Sandra - I guess youre right, the last thing you want to hear is that they cant find a heartbeat because the scan is too early, then you really would die of worry. My friend went through that, was in tears for days then she got a second opinion scan and they found all was ok with bubbs. I bet you wont be able to sleep for 7 nights until the big day! Why is this all so terrifying its not fair! And then you get women who dont want children, do all the wrong things during their pregnancy because they dont care or hope to lose it and bam a healthy baby! Ill never understand it!
Hi to all the lurkers
AFM: Just baked a cake for DH, he finally gets home tonight (he's been away all week with wk), and then i realised i cant eat any of it coz its got cream cheese icing! Im not going to risk it anyway.. My willpower has been amazing, cut out all forms of caffeine so yes that includes chocolate. Not sure how ive managed it but a baby is more important than a slurge right now. I know you can safely have a bit of caffeine each day but im playing it super super safe!
No symptoms today at all except hungry more often. Thats about it. My ovaries are sore from being swollen but thats ohss not raindrop :)

Everafter- nice levels sweetie- I'm with you about us not having any more scares- but can you please tell my body that- oh and tell my bub/s to behave while you're at it!!!
Bourbon-I say that all the time to my husband- that its so unfair that junkies have child after child no problems and yet we have to suffer such anxiety and worry. I think I will be grey by the time I give birth. Ohh that cake sounds ultra yummy your DH is a lucky man.

Just popping in for a second. I watched one of the morning shows about 18 months ago and they had 3 doctors on it who specialise in maternity, fertility and they were talking to all the mums in the audience about where you can pick up listeria and then at the end one of the doctors said, "not that I have ever had a case in all the time I have been practicing" and then the other 2 specialists all said the same thing...... so obviously it isn't as common as they lead us to believe but better to be safe than sorry.
Moo79 -, i think i have officially started the up twice now during the night to the loo! u think someone up there is trying to get us used to waking in the night for feeds!?.. i was up at 12.30 and then around 6, and still cant sleep afterwards.. also i am finding i feel a little off in arvo and night, mainly from 2pm onwards.. do u find unless u are eating every couple of hrs u feel horrendous! ive started to eat small meals all day and i feel better!
Sandramm1 and Hayls - sorry to hear about the bleeding!!! im sure all will be ok with u! i keep thinking its going to happen to me. i know i shouldnt think like this, i guess its just worry... fingers crossed for u both thru out the rest of ur pregnancies!!! welcome to hayls!!! im so glad u are finally here with us after all those ivfs! :)
Laura - good luck for scan on friday!!! let us know how it goes! dont study too hard, sorry to hear ur not feeling to good!
Bourbon - ive been extra careful with what ive been eating too! before everything goes into my mouth im thinking twice! bet ur glad to have hubby home!!!
everafter - i wouldnt worry to much if ur boobs aren't hurting.. not everyone has the same symptoms.. i too didnt realise either that i wouldnt even be able to sleep thru night without going to toilet plus the not being able to sleep thing! i am real tired but i just lay there and it takes ages! oh well.. all part of it, i aint complaining at all!!! i wouldnt trade my place for anything!!
hi to everyone else!! this thread is so active already, theres heaps to read and catch up on every day when im on!!
i am 7 weeks tomorrow!! yay!! only another 6 or so until i can announce to family and friends!! just a Q for everyone, i know some of u may have told parents etc, but have u or when are u going to let everyone know of ur pregnancy?. i am thinking after my second scan (which is after 1st Ob scan) at 13.5 weeks! :flowerz:
 my lovely ladies, I've so missed all of you!!!! I've been totally MIA and held off on joining this thread as I thought that I wasn't pregnant anymore....
So, as most of you know, I was expecting twins and was having full on morning sickness, sore boobs - the works. Then, one day all my symptoms disappeard. Zup, Zilch, Nuffin at all. The first day I thought 'that's interesting', the second day I was worried, the third day I was bawling. My FS is away for 3 weeks so I found another guy and managed to get an appointment to see what was happening. It was a dreadful wait for that appointment, still with no symptoms. I just kept myself so busy with anything and everythig so I couldn't think about it. It was hell...
As we went to our appointment, DH and and I felt as though we were being led to the gallows. We were both soooo depressed and just waiting for the confirmation of the news that we'd lost them. I kept squeezing my boobs, but nothing. THe FS was very understanding, and said, OK, lets check it out. Up on the table I was just lying there numb, waiting for the news.... then he said "there's a heart beat". Holy hell I just burst into tears and then he said "there is another one". DH and I were so emotional, we just couldn't believe it as we were so sure it was all over.
So I'm now 7.5 weeks pregnant with 2 heartbeats and everything is going well! I feel like a complete drama queen... mmmmmm, yes a little bit silly. I also remembered that I had accupuncture the day before all of this happened for MS. I now think that the accupuncturist is a miracle worker so I'm going back for more!!!
So here I am girls, and I look forward to spending the next 7 or so months sharing the miracle of pregnancy with you all. Can you believe, WE DID IT!!!!!!!
now, I guess I can change that signature of mine.

Josi - im so glad everything is well with your twins. I understand how you feel, i dont really have any symptoms and the ones i did have i think were from OHSS and when they disappeared i was wondering if i was still pregnant. Its totally normal for us to stress after all the effort we have been through to get this far. Im glad you and DH were able to get some peace of mind and that you have joined us in this thread
Ange - congrats on being 7 weeks! :yelclap: , i have told all of my family about my bfp but im not telling any friends until exactly 3 months and maybe even a week after that just to be on the safe side!
Donna - thanks for the info on listeria, it puts my mind a little bit at rest especially after i ate some mayo and then realised later its on the no no list! Still im very very careful about my food and not taking any chances.
Sandra - i hope everything has been smooth sailing since your scare and you are feeling good.
AFM: I keep getting pains in my ovaries, it swaps from left side one day and right side the next. Makes me worried but apparently its because of my super high oestrogen keeping the ovaries swollen and sore. Get tired throughout the day but apart from that no symptoms yet. Going on my first 'outing' in nearly 3 weeks of bed rest (thanks to ohss) so heading out to my dads house for lunch. Ive given him strict instructions eg: defrost meat in the fridge not on the counter, none of this none of that lol.. probably driving him insane but hes being a good sport. He knows how hard the journey has been.
Nervously awaiting my week 6 BT next wednesday now! No sooner do i get one week out of the way - im then stressing about the next
everafter- dont you dare apologise for anything!! I completely understand how you're feeling, its such a relief every test and milestone we reach!Dont worry about your boobs  everyone's different and half the time you dont know if its the preg or all the hormones we're on giving them to us anyhow! I've had so many times where I am squeezing my bbs and thinking..hey theyre not as sore etc!! I realise its not worth reading into as somedays they're a bit tender and others nothing!!
bourbon- so know what you mean about getting the bt out the way then waiting for the next!!crazy times hey! Enjoy your outing!.will be nice for you to get out after being stuck at home resting all that time!
josi- hiya, thank goodness everything is ok and congratulations on seeing your twins heartbeats,I had my 7 week scan monday and saw my little bean's heartbeat..its such a relief and so amazing isn't it! Acupuncture is so great for stress relief too I think!
ange- when do you have your 7 week scan? I told my closest friends and MIL straight away because they've known we are doing IVF and I have shared it with them. We aren't going to tell everyone else until 12 weeks though (although I'm itching to tell!!) One of our friends (who we havent told) announced she was 8 weeks pregnant a couple weeks ago..she's one of the lucky ones that had been trying for 2mths and fell naturally! but I'm still biting my tongue before I share although it would be nice to share stories soon!!
sandramm- thank you, I hope you are doing ok and not stressing too much.
afm- well dh gets back from Exmouth today (he had to go for work!!) so I can't wait to see him. I'm 8weeks tomorrow and here are my symptoms- bbs sore but not overly and sometimes the soreness seems to dissapear for awhile!, tiredness..which could also be because I am couch bound so getting lazy, not really getting any ms but find I need to eat regularly as tummy gets all grumbly and empty/sick feeling..which goes away once I eat!! and thats about it so far..
ps. I haven't added myself to the due date list as they haven't given me a date yet but my calculations are that it would be end of march.
just popping on quickly, while ive come home from work on a short break...
Josi - so glad u are here with us, i nearly cried too with what u wrote.. so glad it was nothing to worry about and ur doing well!!
hayls - i dont get a 7 week scan unfortunately, my scan will be 8 weeks 4 days! i'll just have to wait it out...
i'll pop back tonight everyone, enjoy ur afternoons... :)
Ange, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! This is what I love about the forum - it's so great to hear that other people are having the same symptoms (even though I don't wish the waking up several times a night & the feeling awful in the arvos on you :D) ! I thought I was strange for going downhill as the day went on!
Josi, OMG I am so happy for you!! You actually brought a tear to my eye! Congrats on having 2 precious little beans on board!
Bourbon, I'm exactly the same - I've been getting pains on each side on & off, & never the 2 sides at the same time. It freaks me out everytime, & I keep waiting for there to be blood when I go to the loo, but so far so good. And you crack me up with your dad! I'm the same - we went to the inlaws for dinner last week, & they had soft cheeses, & all these other things I can't eat. We're going there again tonight, so DH has told MIL what she can & can't serve!! Geez I love him
AFM, I have discovered I am craving carbs!! It's getting ridiculous - lunch today consisted of vegemite toast, a can of baked beans, 4 little baked potatoes, & a bread roll! WTF?! Ah well, they were all tasty, & hit the spot
I am still hanging out for my scan at 7 weeks 5 days, so only 1 week & 3 days to wait... it's going to be longest week & 3 days of my life!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday! :D
today my symptoms were abit opposite of what they have been.. used to start feeling worse, (more tired and sick feeling from 2pm onwards) well today woke up with the feeling of morning sickness. I dont know whether any of u have experienced this yet or maybe will in the next few weeks but i find i cant brush my teeth without feeling sick, and now for the second time this week i have had a small vomit while trying to brush my teeth.. anyway i felt all morning as though i had to try stop myself from feeling like a vomit.. makes it a bit harder going around driving with work, but the feeling actually passed by midday, and all arvo i then felt fine.. a little tired now, but ive been going to bed around 9pm!
we have only told a few people, ones who knew we were doing the ivf, plus one other friend. we wont say anything more to anyone till 13 or 14 weeks! :)

Hi Ange I started IVF Back in 2004 Had 2 Fresh cycles and DD. In 2007 went back again 2 FET cycles and 2 Freshcycles and DS. 2010 1 FET and 2 Fresh cycles. It looks like my 2nd ICSI cycle is the winner every time for me. So I have had a total of 6 IVF ICSI cycles and 3 FET cycles.
samarasmum - so happy for you that this one has worked and you'll be able to soon welcome baby no. 3 into the world! :)
we had only been trying since nov 08, (feels like a long time for us, yet i know how many yrs some of these ladies have been trying for and it seems nothing in comparison).
i have pcos like many of the ladies in here, and started getting medical help almost straight away, went thru the met, the clomid, the iui, and then onto ivf in july, which worked first go which im so thrilled about, so this will be baby no. 1 for us, due april 1st. :)
I'll pop your due date up on our roll call!!

Hi Girls,
:shakehands:Welcome Samarasmum and a big congrats on the wonderful news. This group of ladies is happy to welcome you with open arms.
Josi- I don't know if it's my hormones kicking in..but your stary made my cry. Thankyou for sharing it with us, and I'm so please it has a happy ending.
Ange-I've told some of my family and some of my closest friends who knew we were doing IVF. I don't think we'll announce it til I'm 12 weeks, to be safe like everyone else.
Moo- Funny you're craving carbs, I'm craving anything savory/vinagary. Do you think I should be careful of how much of the acidic kinds of food I eat?
Bourbon- Glad your dad's caring enough to listen. It must be a little strange for them, as in 'their day' there wasn't this big list of thing you can't eat. At this stage I am analyzing everything before I put it in my mouth. There are a lot of foods I'm going to miss, but like us all, have been missing not having a baby more.
AFN: Took my mum shopping yesterday for her birthday. happybirthdayShe was funny, she went into the baby section of the store and said to me...look, for the first time I can browes in this section for something to buy as a grandmother. She seamed so delighter, it was her 62nd birthday, so I know she was starting to think it was never going to happen...with 3 kids all over 34years and no grandkids!
Hope everyone is feeling great today!

Morning! :sunshine:
Everafter - my mum is the same, 3 kids and no grand kids yet so i think shes getting really excited! My nanna said "oh know you havent told her yet have you because you know shes going to start buying half the shop"
happybirthday to your mum, i hope she had a lovely day x
Samarasmum - Yay i was waiting for you to join us :smiliedance: Congrats on your bfp! Looking forward to us all sharing many happy pregnancy experiences together.
Ange - nope morning sickness hasnt kicked in for me yet! Still able to brush my teeth lol but im only 6 weeks on wed.. I hope you are able to get through the sickness stage without it crippling you. My mum got really really bad morning sickness im told!
Moo79 - mmm carbs... im craving them too especially since my hubby makes the BEST risotto and pasta dishes! Not long til your u/s, the time goes soooo slow doesnt it!!
Hayls - yay for your DH being home, does he have to go away often?
Here is a link to work out your due date: www.ivf.ca/duedate.php
I havent been 'officially' told when mine is either.
Hi to Laura, Josi, Sandra, Hopingforamiracle hope you are all well
AFM: Well im sleeping back in our bedroom with DH but not instead of me waking him constantly he is snoring his head off and keeping me awake so ive had to sneak back to the spare room just to get some sleep
He never used to snore, i hope this isnt a new permanent thing!!
Was feeling hungry so got up early and had breakky then went back to bed to lie down after doing my progesterone pessarie.
No other symptoms except around 1-2pm i get very very sleepy!
6 weeks on wednesday and counting ....

 Samarasmum- welcome and congratulations on your BFP.
Hayls- yeah for having DH back!!!
Moo- I too have been craving carbs- I have to force myself to eat protein foods.
ange-I'm hearing you on the brushing teeth thing- although I find its worse in the mornings and not so bad at night
everafter- Your mum must be over the moon forst grandchild is definitely something special. It will be my mums first grandchild too.
Bourbon- did hubby like the cake? I am finding that I wake up around 4 0r 5 am and then find it hard to got back to sleep- drift in and out of sleep.
AFM: Bad smells at the moment are really making me gag- literally I sound as though I'm about to be sick but luckily I dont. I am avoiding public toilets and even the toilets at work I cant go if someone has been to the toilet for a number 2 and it still smells even a little bit. Obviously bad smells are never nice but they have never made me gag before.
No more bleeding- :fingerscrossed: it stays that way. 5 sleeps until my scan.
sandramm1- i will do that from now on (the brushing teeth at night and not morning), nice in a way that someone knows what its like and im not the only one.. think we r very close as far as our due date goes arnt we. since 6 weeks hit, ive felt a bit different, and now since in the 7th week feeling very nauseous.
i know what u mean about smells etc.. I am always feeling like a i could, luckily i have yet to have a good vomit... also today for example, i ate breakie about 9am, it got to 1pm and i hadnt had lunch yet.. but i started feeling sick as anything and Had to eat.. im finding i must eat every 3-4 hrs or i feel really ill like i need to vomit.. in a way im glad i feel like this, makes me think this is all healthy for me to be feeling like this, and will only last till week 12 or so.. u lucky thing too getting to have your scan real soon!

Quick question... are you guys cutting out caffeine? I have been and not even having chocolate after reading how it can increase m/c rates.. however DH bought some chocky tonight for during a movie. Hmm think ill have a little bit. Hey i dont drink coffee or anything so maybe im just being TOO strict?
bourbon - i have cut back but not all together... i am still having a morning coffee and a little bit of choc on the weekend! i wouldnt feel guilty about having some!! have a great night.. think we'll go to bed early and watch a dvd too. been nauseous on and off all day, its only hit me coming into the 7th week.. im snacking all the time to try help settle my stomach..

Ange Thanks for popping me on the role call. Number 1 is all so special especially when you think it is never going to happen.
Everafter Happy Birthday to your mum for Yesterday. It is great browsing through the baby section when you have a reason to.
Bourbon thanks for inviting me. Your little one is going to be so spoilt. It’s strange that you haven’t been told your EDD. On Friday I received a letter from HFC and it had my Due Date and guess who it was from?? Well she was there for my Day 21 Appointment.
Sandramm I know what you mean by bad smells. I am very sensitive to lots of smells and the ones that are bad for me are mainly perfume like smells. It’s great that the bleeding has stopped hope it stays away for you.
A Big  Lauralollipop, Josi, Moo, Hoping4AMiracle Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
AFM I have already booked my OB and I get to see him early as he will be on leave in September. So I will be seeing the clinic and the OB in the same week. I just hope I haven’t booked too early. Still tired but other than that all ok.

Hey Guys ... some of you i already know from the perth girls thread but i havent been on it for ages... LOL..
Congrats to everyone on those BFP.. its soo exciting to see soo many..
AFM well im 6 weeks tomorow Due Date is 10th april and everything is going well. HCG is awesome but progesterone is abit low so they have me on pesseries..which are super fun LOL.. i have had a chance to read all the other posts so i will reply properly later tonight but im looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.
Mahogany - welcome! glad u are joining us, and looking forward to chatting for the next 7.5 or so months!!
Another Q for all the girls in here.. just wondering when we all get to the half way mark, r you finding out the sex of the baby?..
I will be! cannot wait! :smiliedance:
Congratulations and Welcome mahogany and sandrasmum !!! I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and welcoming me to the thread. It is so nice to have a little 'family' here.
Ange - you made me laugh with the toothpaste because my sister told me that exactly the same thing happened to her when she was preggas. She couldn't brush her teeth without a little vom.
Sandramm - man, those smells are bad aren't they??? I'm just gagging all the time. I've just told DH that we have to move all of the shoes out of our bedroom cupboard as I can smell them when I am trying to sleep.
Bourbon - after my little drama, I wouldn't be too worried about not having morning sickness (not that I can talk here!!). My FS said it was just how your body reacts to hormones, and some just don't.
I can't remember who said it, but I've been doing those funny little gagging noises too. mainly at times like cooking dinner or when DH cooks and is serving me up food. BHAH is how it sounds.. He just looks at me ?*%#@
Is anyone else on clexane or anything?? I'm still taking clexane injections every night as well as asprin and thyroxin. My stomach is just black and blue!!
 to everafter, lauralollipop, moo79 and hoping for a miracle. I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday.

Morning everyone,
Ange - i used to always want to keep the sex of the baby a surprise but i guess after soooooo much ivf waiting for different things i want to know now! Only problem DH wants a surprise so i cant boohoo! Unless.... there are more than one in there then im going to convince him to find out because can you imagine how hard it would be choosing names etc!!
Before i even got preg at one stage we were discussing baby names and we couldnt agree on any
Mahogany - Welcome  I remember you as im in the Perthies thread. Congrats on your bfp you did it :smiliedance: Hey your due date is the day before me! Although i worked out im 6wks on wed?.. Might ask the clinic soon what date they come up with.
Samarasmum - I got my forms sent out and that compliment slip which says congrats etc your due date is: and mine was blank!! How handy! Probably you know who forgot to write it in
Yay for booking your Ob how exciting, who are you going to? I cant wait to see mine :)
Josi - Im on progesterone pessaries, oestrogen patches and aspirin as part of the colorado protocol. Glad i havent had to use clexane yet as ive heard they hurt? Lol at your funny noise you make, havent made any yet but im behind most of you so give it time lol..
Hi to everyone else -
AFM: At first i thought id stood up to quickly coz felt very hot and sick but ive been resting for a while and still feel sick... hmm maybe i spoke to soon about morning sickness? Dont feel like breakfast this morning which is unlike me because usually my stomach is rumbling for food by now.
donna2712
15-08-2010, 10:20
Bourbon - my MS kicked in at 6w4d so you are right on track  I had very little MS in my first pregnancy and it was only bought on when I opened my fridge and smelt garlic. This time it is just here ALL the time and even though I haven't actually vomitted too many times there just doesn't seem to be rhyme nor reason as to when it shows up. I do know that I can only spend half hour on the laptop before it kicks in.
Josi - glad i aint the only one with this problem... im dreading doing my teeth now! i was all good up until about 6.5 weeks like urself, and then since 7 weeks a little worse off.. and when i was in the fifth week i was there waiting for it to happen and wondering when it would! i too have been nearly gagging over things.. DP brought home this snitzels he bought from the butcher and they had spices on them and anything like that atm, i feel sick.. I need really plain food atm, anything else and i wont eat it!
bourbon - what some couples do which r split on deciding whether to find out is for the nurse to tell u and then u just keep it from hubby if he doesnt want to know!?. we r both so keen to know so we can buy alot before he or she is born! its funny last night i had a dream i had a boy, my DP dreamt about a fortnight ago it was a boy and my best friend has dreamt a boy.. hmm.. so my DP thinks its prob opposite and will end up being a girl! either way as long as its healthy, i couldnt care less, but i am dying to know!! there r 4 boys on one side of the family so having the first girl would be lovely, but either way i am happy!! :)

:wave:Hi All
Hi Mahogany, Congrats & welcome.:yelclap:
Samarsmum-you're going to have a busy:bee: week seeing your clinic & OB in the same week. I'm sure it'll make it all feel very real!
Bourbon-Funny your DH has started snoring:sleeping:, mine's always snored. I have often thourght of sending him to a sleep lab. I cut out caffeine months before my last lot of FT as many people had told me and I had read if you do it can help you fall pregnant. But I miss it so much, I LOVE coffee! Hopefully I'll hate the smell of it or something soon...that'd help!. It sounds like your morning sickness just may have started...you lucky thing lol.
Sandra-Glad to hear there is still no more bleeding. Can't wait to hear how your scan goes.:fingerscrossed:
Ange-I can totally see and understand why people wish to find out the sex of their baby. Especially for us IVF's, I mean, most of the 'mystery & wonder' of conception has been taken away from us anyway, so why stop there. But still, in saying that, I am going to try and not find out. I do think I still want a surprise on the day. ( I had a friend say to me "why? It's not like opening a christmas present!") But somethings just telling me not to find out.:baby::cool:
Josi- Your little gagging noises must sound funny to your DH, but not so funny to you I guess?...Oh, what I have to look forward to hey! lol:barf:
Hi to everyone else.
AFM: Not much has changed with me since my last post. Probably feel slighly less hungry and alittle more sleepy, but nothing else. Boring aren't I?.
bourbon11646
15-08-2010, 12:19
Donna - its hard to tell if its M/S or not.. i guess ill know if i start to feel like this on a regular basis!
Ange - I wouldnt want one of us knowing the sex and not the other. I guess we will have a surprise but who knows DH might change his mind! If there are more than one in there i def want to know though.
Isnt it funny how we dream these things?! I had a dream about a yr ago i was breastfeeding a baby girl! DH would love a girl but there are alot of boys in his family! There are twins too!
AFM: I just dont feel very good today. Apart from waking up feeling like i was going to faint and throw up, ive also got a headache and cried at nothing this morning! Stomach is rumbling for food even though i dont feel like eating and have already had toast for breakfast.
Q: Has anyone had dry skin? My hands especially have been very very dry lately and my fingers have gotten skinny so much so that my rings are all falling off! Stomach is still bloated though.. weird!
bourbon - once your DH sees bubs at the scans, he might just change his mind! some of the family cant believe we want to know, guess its more of the old fashioned way of thinking not finding out.. still, its everyones choice! yrs back i never thought i'd want to know, but now i do!
im still feeling crappy, and tired! slept 12 hrs last night, minus 3 trips to the toilet! dont know how i will go with work this week, just have to take it one day at a time..

Bourbon I got stuck on the Hazelnut lattes and then came across chai Latte which has less caffine. You are still allowed to have 2 cups of coffee a day. Crying at nothing its normal. Dry skin I can relate to the point my knuckles have cracked and started to bleed. I am on top of it now using hand cream constantly. I am going to see Mark McKenna he delivered both DD and DS and he is at Murdoch.
Ange How was your DVD we watched Beauty and the Beast DD chose it. We are going to find out the sex of this one as our first 2 where a surprise. The First time we both wanted a surprise the second time DH wanted to know and I told him if he finds out I will know. I don’t think we can get enough sleep. The more you get the more you want.
Mahogany Welcome looking forward to sharing your Journey.
Josi I am still on crinone but down to one a day hope to stop it soon.
Everafter Have as much sleep as you can while you can. The problem seeing my OB early is that from August I won’t see him again until October.
A Big  Donna and everyone else
AFM Not too much happening. Hanging out for BT on Thursday to find out if my levels are progressing nicely. I am getting a stitch on my right side after not doing too much. Trying to sleep as much as I can still tired.

 did everyone have a good weekend?
On the caffeine front- I have cut out coffee, and diet coke. I drink decaf tea in the morning, and if I am at someones house and want a warm drink will ask for a weak tea with lots of milk. I have had some chocolate but really havent wanted it. I also used to regularly want sugar lollies, but have gone right off them too.
Mahogany- hello and welcome to this due thread. Congrats on your BFP!!!
Ange- I am definitely going to try and find out the sex of our bubs when the time comes. I am a planner and like to know things ahead of time.
josi- poor thing being all bruised like that. When will you stop the injections?
Bourbon- I have found that I often dont feel like food in the mornings- but if I wait for awhile until I think I may want it, that I just end up feeling nauseous- so eating even when not hungry I find works the best. I have also been crying at absolutely nothing- ads, tv shows, news- you name it it makes me cry- especially anything with a child in it.
everafter- you are definitely not boring!!! I keep looking for symptoms to confirm I am still pregnant. Its so hard waiting to hear a heartbeat or see in a scan.
samarasmum- A few weeks ago I kept getting stitches and it wasnt like I had been out of breath or anything. Weird hey?
AFM: 3 SLEEPS until my scan!!!! I hope the next few days go super quick.
morning everyone, sorry no personals this time round, i am off work today due to the MS, although, its really all day sickness, and since friday it has kicked in.. ive got to get down to the supermarket at some stage though to buy a few foods they say will help, cause i def dont want to be off work every day for the next few weeks.. im not so much vomiting, just feeling nauseous all the time. they say eating small meals or snacks all day will help, and it does a little, just had some toast and still feel sick though, lying down in bed is about the only thing that makes me feel good! i heard peanut butter on toast in the morning while ur still in bed helps, as does anything ginger, so gonna give that a try too! again last night i went to the toilet once, this time at 3.30am and dont reckon i went back to sleep till 5.30am, so think an arvo nap will be had today! :)

ange- sorry to hear "all day" sickness has hit you. Make sure you have plenty of fluids and lots of little meals. That arvo nap sounds sooo good.

Ange - you are probably right, i think when DH sees bub at the u/s he may just get too curious! Its funny coz i never wanted to know but since doing ivf its all ive thought about that if i get preg i want to know the sex!
Sorry you have bad morn sickness, i hope you are able to get a hold on it. Buy ginger nut biscuits too
Hey i was awake with you at exactly 3:30am! And of course couldnt get back to sleep.
Sandra - ooh 3 sleeps til your u/s how exciting/scary! I hope they reassure you that bubs is going great so that you are able to enjoy every second, is your DH going too?
Samara - each blood test is nerve wracking isnt it... mines on wed and believe me im counting down the days! Yeah ive started using moisturizing cream on my dry skin and drinking heaps more water.
Everafter - I worked in a sleep lab as a receptionist yrs ago but the boss was such an ar*ehole that i quit after exactly 1 week and 1 day  and i never quit a job easily! What i did learn was interesting though and if your DH snores pretty bad then i think it may be worthwhile doing because it can be pretty bad for their health (and your sanity).
Hi to everyone else, i hope all is well
AFM: After initially feeling crappy yesterday morning they day progressed fine and i got heaps of stuff done. I just hope not too much... This morning my stomach rumbled for a cracker but apart from that no symptoms so of course im worried is everything ok! Next blood test (week 6) is on wed and counting...
morning ladies..gee its a busy little thread!!
bourbon- Its such a pain when your dh is snoring isnt it!! especially when we're not sleeping that well anyway..I find I often head to the couch around 3-4am!! Your previous question on my dh going away..he doesnt go away that often thank goodness, probably only a couple times a year for work. On the caffeine question, I cut coffee out ages ago when TTC but on the odd occasion (if we are out for breaky) I might have a bought one. I have switched to camomile tea and hot chocolates! (didnt think of the caffeine in the chocolate though!!) I dont really have dry skin but I have broken out in zits everywhere..on my forehead and chest and back!!! Its awful! I look like a 40 year old teenager!
sandramm- so glad the bleeding has stopped, hopefully that will be it! Its a good sign that you are feeling sensitive to all the bad smells!! I hope the next 3 days goes quick for you!
mahogony- congrats on your pregnancy and 6 weeks!!
ange- sorry to hear you are getting all day MS! not very nice at all! I know what you mean about being glad to be feeling the nausea (though you may not be now!) so that you know everything is going well..I havent really experienced much MS, have found just recently in the afternoon I start to feel nauseaus for a couple hours...especially if I'm in the car too.
Its funny, DH and I had the chat on the weekend on whether we would find out the sex of the baby...I want to and he doesnt but after some persuasion!!..he is happy to find out now!
josi- have you asked your clinic if you still have to be on the clexane and aspirin? I was on aspirin but was told to stop around 6 weeks (but I have been bleeding the whole time so I think that is why I had to stop)
samarasmum- good luck with your bt thursday.
everafter- Oh to be boring!! I am jealous!!
afm- still on resting orders!! dh took me for a drive out to chittering valley yesterday (north of perth) so that was nice to get out and about..although a bit of MS on the drive up there. Had my 8week BT today so hope all is going well. I am going in next monday for 9week scan ..not usual but they allow it especially when you've had the issues I have with the bleeding.
Ange - you poor thing. It sounds like you are suffering. I find a little bit of chicken soup is good. My accupuncturist said that even though you only feel like carbs, try to eat protein as carbs make you feel wors. I've also found that buying a protein bar and nibbling it all day helps..
Good luck to everyone this week with your scans and BTs. It is exciting but nerve wracking.
As for the sex questions, we are going to find out. If we're choosing names, i just don't think we'll be able to come up with 8 options if we don't find out the sex. ATM we can't even agree on 1 name!
As for the clexane etc, yep, we've asked and been told to be on it until the end of the 12 week. The injection seems to get worse as your skin gets tighter (as mine is from all of those protein shakes!)
Our clinic has a pregnancy forum tonight that DH and I are going along to. It'll be weird as everything else we've been going to has all been fertility related. It is weird being on the other side!
8 weeks tomorrow!

Bourbon- glad to hear you werent feeling sick all day yesterday. 2 sleeps until your BT!!!
Yes I cant wait until Thursday to find out whats going on in my uterus. I really hope both bubs are growing well, I have really gotten used to the idea of twins. Plus I feel like a fraud at the moment- not sure whether still pregnant!!!
Hayls- the drive on the weekend sounds like it was lovely. 9 weeks next Monday- how exciting!!!
Josi- Good luck at the forum tonight- and enjoy being "on the other side".
AFM: Just noticed that my boobies have started to feel sore again when touched. I hope this is a good sign.

 hi everyone
sorry this will be a quick post with no personals as I feel like poo!
last week (7 weeks) I suddenly was hit with all day sickness vomiting and being unable to eat. Its worse on an evening and I puke up all night bile and have to go to bed. All I can do is sleep, I have gone off all food and the only time I am not nauseas is when I am asleep. I am going to bed around 8pm and waking up at 8am (toliet lots of times) and still tired out. I have been v depressed as I feel so lousy and just thought that ebing pregnant would be so great and unfortunately I feel like death :barf:
I went to the baby expo yesterday and bought heaps of stuff and got some cloth nappies and a change bag!
We had another scan on Friday, all good, but the baby was hiding behind my full bladder and so the picture was not as good as the first one. I am finally off to my GP now to get my referral to my OB.......
I just wanted to add that I have lived on chocolate the the whole time, even though I have cut out caffeine and changed to de-cafe t bags, I have eaten choc the whole way through, didn't even know it had caffeine in it, it doesn't say so on the packet??? Anyway I reckon choc is a pregnant ladies best friend and cant give it up.
I am glad to see you are all well and our little family is growing....oh and We are deffo NOT finding out the sex, I love surprises:thumbsup:
I will type more as soon as I have a bit more time and am not as sick, love you all xxxx

Laura- so sorry you feel so bad, but glad to hear you are resting up and taking care of yourself. I am 7 weeks this week so hope that I dont feel that bad- I have already taken way too much time off work!!! Baby expo sounded like fun- glad to hear you got some great stuff.
Oh and in my last post forgot to say to Bourbon- Yes my DH is coming to the scan with me- i need him there to support me if its bad news.
hey everyone again, well finally feeling a tad better and prob only as i have a full stomach! Poor Laura - im sorry u feel so bad!!! u seem to have it much worse then myself, im not :barf: like u are! just constantly feeling like i could.. plus still have the gastro ive had ever since 4-5 days before finding out i was preg! Take care of yourself!!! I hope this isnt going to be me in a few days time! :( i seemed to get worse when i hit the 7th week... take care hun, all will be worth it in the end, just remember that!!
Josi - thanks for the idea of chicken soup.. we have some of that in the cupboard.. might have some for dinner! we too very much look forward to the 20 week scan to find out what baby will be.. theres just no way i could not have everything prepared before the birth.. As your 8 weeks tomorrow and a few days ahead of me, how have u been feeling?.. i cant remember off hand from previous posts.. are u feeling the nausea alot like myself and Laura or u doing ok?.. i think only about 3 in 4 actually feeling nauseous! i thought i might have been one of the lucky ones to be the one to feel fine, but guess not! :)
sandramm1 - i am a planner too and cant wait to find out! what an exciting day that will be! we can then get the nursery all ready and buy bub clothes etc.. im gonna prob have everything all ready and bags packed for the hospital by 8 months! :)
 to everyone else!! hope your having a lovely day so far!! xx
Hi everyone! Sorry it's taken me so long to write, but I've been holding out, trying to figure out if I'm 'properly' pregnant. I was getting less paranoid, until I got my 3rd Hcg blood test results back today. Let's see what you guys think.
My 1st test at 16dpo = 54
2nd at 18dpo = 126
3rd at 22dpo =726
I realise that everything is doubling nicely, but on the test results that the GP gave back to me it said the range for 5-6 weeks pregnant should be 3400-135300 with an average of 32800. WTF???!!! The levels I've read about on this site and others suggest 185-3279 with an average of 1287. Am I going crazy? Should I get another test? I'm freaking out and my scan isn't til the 23rd of August. I'm still getting occasional cramps, sore BB's, very bloated, tired like you wouldn't believe (well, I guess you would, from your posts...) Any advice welcome. Cheers!

Hayls - ooh the drive to Chittering would have been nice. I understand how you feel as i have been on rest for about 3 weeks so little 'excursions' out of the house are great! Goodluck with your u/s next monday
Josi - Thats good that your clinic has a preg forum, would be interesting to go to. Yes if i have multiples ill definately be finding out the sex as DH and I are finding it hard to agree on one like you!!
Sandra - I feel like a fraud too  Still doesnt seem real. Im always worried whether im still preg i just like it when i get confirmation at each BT that all is good.
Laura - sorry youre feeling so bad :hugs: Just remember the end product when you are feeling especially down and depressed. So much for pregnancy glow huh. Lucky you went to the expo, i would have loved that!
Ange - Glad to hear you are feeling better, hopefully it stays that way
Simone - Everyones levels differ and also from pregnancy to pregnancy. My friend had a hcg reading of 100 in her first and 600 with her second baby. As long as they are increasing at a nice rate then you should be fine. It doesnt stop you from worrying i know but just try to rest and relax as much as possible. Congrats on being preg by the way and yay for joining our thread :yelclap:
AFM: Been very thirsty today and a bit constipated too. Hate that, I increased my fibre, took Metamucil, drinking alot of H2O... My levels of progesterone etc are super high so that is probably why.
Dont feel hugely hungry or tired or anything else today. I have been falling asleep each night in front of the tv though, i think DH is used to it now  Bring on week 6 BT on wednesday... need reassurance.. again!
Simone - i wouldnt worry at all, although easier said then done hey! your scans only a week away so not too long to wait! ur levels look good, and glad u have been able to join us!!
im surprised actually that everyone seems to be getting multiple blood tests??
I had one at 14dpo and they said my levels were really good, and between that and a 8.5 week scan I have Nothing, no more tests etc. just waiting it all out until next tues! the times going surprisingly quick i must admit which is good! DP bought me peanut butter and ginger nut biscuits, and pineapple and orange juice too! I'll let you all know if it helps over the next 24 hrs! hopefully i'll be at work tomorrow! :)

ange- I only had one BT. Well actually i had 2 but only coz of the bleed to check levels hadnt dropped past the first BT- but if it wasnt for the bleed I would have only had one BT.
bourbon- I hear pear juice can do wonders for constipation- but take it in small doses or you will go from severely blocked to free and clear in a very short time- lol.
 Simone- I wouldnt be worrying about the levels- they seem fine to me and are in line with levels I have seen posted elsewhere.

16-08-2010, 21:36
SimoneK - I had a late implanter my 1st Preg test was HCG of 35, two days later it was 114, three days later 360 so I could finally say I was pregnant, my levels are low aswell but are doubling every two to three days which is what they are suppose to be doing.
Bourbon- Congratulations! I was on another thread with you but changed names from CWBC. Glad you have finally got a BFP aswell.
AFM- Hope you don't mind if I join you ladies I am due 13th April if all goes well and live way out in the country.
Finally had success on my 4th full cycle IVF/ICSI and it took us 3 years and 8 months to finally get here.
So finding it hard for it all to sink in, very paranoid and can not wait for my 7 week scan next friday.
Yep have suffered nausea even car sickness, sore sore boobs, constipation, lots and lots of trips to the loo and unfortunatley had spotting, which I hate. PLus the tum hasn't gone down much since EPU, still bloated. And forever tired,
Can't wait to get past the 12 week mark to feel safe enough to go check out any baby goods.
I've been having a cup of prune juice each day and one or two benefibres to try keep me regular.
How do you work out your DPO? and what is it.
sandramm1
17-08-2010, 08:24
Hi Blossom- welcome and congratulations!!!!
DPO- days past ovulation- it is days past EPU- so count from when you had eggs collected- not sure how you count for a FET.
AFM: I had a really bad sleep last night. I get to sleep okay but when I wake in the wee hours of the morning for a pee I just cant go back to sleep or even get comfortable. 2 more sleeps until my scan- my tummy gets flutters everytime I think about it.
bourbon11646
17-08-2010, 09:49
Sandra - I hear ya! Every morning early when i get up to pee it then takes hrs to get back to sleep. Ive actually been sleeping with my knees up so soles of feet on bed as i find it is less strain on my stomach which is still tender from ohss.
Hmm pear juice may have to drink a bucket full  I dont mind being free and easy just get it outta me!! As long as im not in public with no loo in sight that is...
2 sleeps til your scan no wonder you cant sleep! 1 sleep til my next blood aah we can stress together!
Blossom - Yes i remember you! Its pretty sad that i have cycled with just about everyone on bubhub isnt it  but ive made lots of friends so thats a blessing.
Im glad you are UTD also yay, congrats! You are very close to me, im due on 11 april.
Our u/s are both next week, mine wed. We can worry together, its just so scary until we get that confirmation and then its exciting! I got preg on my 4 full stim cycle also!
Ange - I hope all the yummy food DP bought you works wonders, it can only help
Our clinic does blood tests every week until you are 8 weeks and then after that they hand you over to an Ob.
I think i need the close monitoring because im on the Colorado Protocol and my oestrogen has gone soooooo high (abnormally so) they want to monitor it. It would come under duty of care really. You can choose not to have the bloods but why would you! Im scared of not having my levels checked once ive left because im on lots of drugs still.
AFM: Not feeling anything, nothing, nada, zilch, i hope Raindrop is ok... have my 6 week BT tomorrow, im going to be a nervous wreck waiting for that phone call as usual!
sandramm1
17-08-2010, 14:36
They need to come up with some sort of instant blood test- I swear we all stress way too much waiting for the phone to ring. The sound of a phone ringing will become associated with anxiousness at this rate.
Yay today has gone quickly- staff meetings always make the day go faster.

Welcome Simone & Blossom- Big congrats on being pregnant, how amazing is it to finally be here!?:cloud9:
Just read through everyones messages since my last post and now don't have the energy to write replies but wanted you all to know I'm thinking about you and hope all your scans and BT's go well.
Will reconnect after I get a recharge from a 'nana nap'.
Best wishes to you all.
hi everyone,
wow always lots going on in this thread! I cant keep up!
bourbon- not long til your week 6 BT!! yay!! always nice to have the reassurance. Did your clinic put you on rest? (or is it self imposed:))
simone and blossom- welcome and congratulations on your BFP's!! I look forward to sharing your experiences x
sandramm-glad today has been a quick one for you..not long to go now..bring on thursday!! sounds like you are getting some symptoms now!.
everafter- I've just had a nana nap and ready for another one:laughing: enjoy yours x
hi to everyone else!
I have been getting headaches the last couple days..aargh, I know I could take panadol for them but I'm holding off as long as I can! plus today I've noticed a pain on right side of tummy!..not sure if its just stretching pains! has anyone else had them?
hi everyone!!
let me tell u the peanut butter on toast before bed and in the morning before u get out of bed did me wonders today!!! DP also bought me the ginger nut biscuits and i had them with me all day, I feel close to 100% better then yesterday.. i really think the key is having the protein to feel u up and not the carbs.. because i was full during the night, when i got up once for the toilet i actually fell back to sleep within 10 mins!! just have to constantly have something in the stomache all the time, can no longer just have breakie lunch and tea.. will not work!
bourbon - good luck with ur blood test although im sure all will be good!! i kinda wish i had weekly ones, but in a way after going thru everything its been nice to be left alone with nothing more to do for a little while! i wouldnt worry about not feeling anything, its still quite early. ive read week 5 is very similar to week 4, its between weeks 6-8 that will tend to feel sick, and then theres some lucky ones who will still continue to feel well. I know i was wishing i'd feel something, and then it started! atleast i now know some foods helps and the next few weeks should hopefully fly along nicely!!
blossom - welcome!! congrats!! sorry to hear you've been quite unwell so far!!
Sandramm1 - sorry to hear u havnt been sleeping well!! try something with protein in it before bed, and see if that helps at all! i did that last night, and helped me pretty much get straight back to sleep!
hayls - just trying to see how far along u were, ur not on the roll call yet r u??.. i see u are in your 8th week??. regarding the little pains in tummy, ive felt a little bit, i dont think its going to be much to worry about! alot of growth is happening week 7 and 8, its prob normal to feel this!
hello to everyone else!!!!
bourbon11646
17-08-2010, 17:28
Ange - thanks :) I kind of need the weekly bt's to make sure my oestrogen is coming down as im on oest patches and am at high risk of blood clots they said. They dont want to bring it down too quickly but its been doubling which is bad!
Glad you have been feeling better, will have to remember all the 'tricks' you all pick up along the way!
Hayls - the clinic put me on rest as i got pretty severe OHSS and my ovaries r still swollen and oest way too high. When i ventured out i felt like i was going to collapse, i rang the clinic and she got mad at me for leaving the house! DH had to drive me straight home. Im doing little things, a bit more each day but have to be careful. I have also noticed since yesterday ive been getting headaches and since i used to associate that with AF i quickly googled pregnancy and headaches and its normal  Also have had odd pains in the stomach.
Everafter - ooh a nanna nap sounds perfect i think i need one of those right now!
Sandra - yeah the phone terrifies me on results days! Im going to get a complex soon if i dont watch it
Thats good that the staff meetings are making the day go fast. Pretty terrible how we all wish away the time isnt it!
AFM: My dad just left after visiting for a while and i feel really sleepy now. Think ill watch tv and have a nanna nap. Im really appreciating not working thats for sure.
sandramm1
17-08-2010, 17:47
everafter- I'm jealous of your nana nap. I hope it re-charged you.
hayls- when I get a headache its usually coz I havent had enough water- dont know if thats the case for you?
ange- I wish my DH would bring me brekkie in bed!!! I have been having cereal and a banana for brekkie and toast on some days. Might have to buy some of those ginger bikkies.
Bourbon- Good luck tomorrow with the BT. I'm sure it will all be fine.
Seems like it is a twin bonanza at the moment- keep hearing about Princess Mary being pregnant with twins too.

This thread is really busy if you miss a day. Hopefully I haven’t missed anyone
Sandramm Getting closer to your scan not too long now. I ended up going to bed at 7:30 last night to try and catch up on sleep but DS woke up about 3 times and then had to go to the loo it is always hard to go back to sleep.
Ange I have heard fruit tingles work. Not sure if they do I haven’t tried them. I feel a bit Nauseous in the afternoon and evening. Also try having a packet of ginger nut biscuits by the bed and eat one before you get out of bed. AT HFC we have 4 follow up BT and a scan at 7 weeks
Hayls Good luck with your BT results and Hope you Scan goes well next week. The pain in your right side does it feel like a stitch. I am getting them as well it’s normal I have had them in the past.
Josi Yay for being 8 weeks. How did the pregnancy forum go?
Lauralollipop I hope you feel better soon.
SimoneK I know how you feel being paranoid. My first BT was 48 and that was a day early so I am just hanging out for Thursday’s results. Rising levels are great.
Bourbon BT is nearly here just one more sleep. Good luck with it.
Blossom Welcome and congratulations. Good luck for your 7 week scan.
A Big  Everafter and everyone else.
AFM I think I will feel better when I get my results on Thursday. Just a bit concerned that they where 48 with DS they where around 300. Keeping busy and starting work early. Is everyone looking forward to Saturday?

Just popping in to say :wave: to you all and check you are all good.
I wanted to wish bourbon good luck for her bloods and u/s tomorrow too.
AFM I had a bit of a scare today, had a bleed wish started off brown blood then turned red and gushing, now its back to brown again. Have spent the whole day in ED but got a scan and bubba looks fine and dandy, I am all shaken up now and going to rest. I have to go and see gp tomorrow for more betas......I'm scared, was just starting to get excited.
Going to lay low for a bit, but I will still check in on you all and make sure my little family are all fine.......be back soon as I can actually have the energy to type;)

Just a quick note to Laura - thanx for the well wishes, just a bt for me tomorrow then the dreaded/exciting u/s the following week.
You must have been so scared you poor thing. Why do these things have to happen to us, havent we been through enough already with the ivf etc?!!
It is strange how we can have heavy red bleeds but bubbs is still ok, i hear about it more and more and more so hang in there, alot of people i know have been through the same scare and had healthy babies. Doesnt make it any less scary i know but at least so far so good and bubbs is ok.
Will be thinking of you and sending good vibes your way :babydust2:

Samarasmum- Good luck for your BT on Thursday. I'm sure all will be fine.
Bourbon- Good luck with BT today!!!!
AFM: 1 more sleep until my scan :smiliedance:
Hi everyone, thanks for all your supportive messages re: the low HCG levels. I called the doctor asking if I should have another blood test (I have gone from being a POAS addict to a BT addict) but she said I shouldn't bother and just wait 'til my first scan on the 23rd of August - next Monday. Jeez, it's just connnnstaaant waaaaiiiiittttting isn't it? At the scan I'll be 6 weeks 3 days and she said not to freak out if I can't see a heartbeat - it may be too early. Great! Have been reading through everyone's posts and it's nice to know everyone's as bloated as me! I wake up looking like I've just eaten ten Christmas dinners. Craving carbs and cheese doesn't help matters I guess. Once this pack of Bega Strong and Bitey is finished, that's it. I'm also really tired, going to bed about 8pm and waking up at 4am to pee and not being able to go back to sleep. Not constipated yet - thank god - but have started taking some Agiofibe I brought back from Australia as a preventative measure. I'm having to be really careful of what I eat, too, as it's really common here in Vietnam to get all manner of stomach bugs. No real MS yet - my heart goes out to you Laura and Ange, sounds AWFUL - but feeling a little queasy in the mornings if I haven't eaten.
Bourbon - How did your blood test go? Let us all know as soon as you get your results.
Sandra - Good luck for you scan tomorrow!
Hayls70 - Congrats on your BFP. Just wondering if you were on the July IVF forum last year, your name sounds familiar.
Laura and Ange - Hope the MS goes away soon.
Samarasmum - Hope you get great levels on Thursday!
Everafter - I am due the day after you on the 15th April!
Josi, Donna, Moo, Hoping and Blossum - Hi and hope things are going well.
Damn, it's 7.15 am and I've got to go to school and teach. Nooooooo!

18-08-2010, 11:02
Simone- Will you deliver in Vietnam? I am assuming they have OB's there and you will get scan done over there too?
Hi Sandra, yes, I think I'll have to deliver here in Vietnam as me and DH won't be able to get time off to go back to Australia. (and I think they don't let you fly overseas after 34 weeks) There is The French Hospital here in Hanoi which is apparently pretty good, but all the doctors only speak French or Vietnamese. I know quite a few western women who have had babies there though. As for the scan I'm having that at our local medical centre (which also mainly caters for foreigners.) The only thing I'm worried about is getting tests like CVS etc. The amount of people I know who have been misdiagnosed here is huge. I have work colleagues who've been told they have cancer, or told they need a hysterectomy, and when they went to Bangkok for a second opinion there was nothing wrong with them! I'd also be a bit worried if there were any complications...
sandramm1
18-08-2010, 12:36
Simone- It sounds like you are in good hands and possibly can always go to Bangkok if their are complications? It sounds like you have a good understanding of the medical system over there though. Now I just have to navigate the one here and all will be good.
sandramm1
18-08-2010, 14:23
Bourbon- where are you missy? How did BT go?
afternoon girls!
My MS has just about all gone! i guess due to eating the foods that helps and constantly eating so tummy is always full - prob will put on 5 kgs this trimester but ah well, as long as i feel better.
hope all went great with the tests bourbon!!
i want to have my scan, hate having to wait till im nearly 9 weeks before i get to see anything!
bourbon11646
18-08-2010, 16:28
Sandra - wishing you all the very best with your scan tomorrow, fill us in as soon as you can!
SimoneK - Thats weird they do a scan so early even though they may not see a heartbeat, whats the point as it will just worry you! Take care in Vietnam, you poor thing you have a few extra things to worry about, i hope it all works out well.
Ange - did you send through your M/S to me instead? I dont blame you for wanting your u/s earlier, all this waiting su*!
Hi to everyone else hope you are all doing well, where are you all?
AFM: The clinic just this second called with my results of this mornings 6wk blood test.
She was laughing in amazement at how my bodys hormones have gone totally crazy. I am on the Colorado Protocol which im meant to be on until 13 weeks but im stopping since my body has taken over big time! Check out my levels:
Oestrogen: 21,500 (i reduced my medicine but its gone even higher than last time).
Progesterone: 1,800 (been told to reduce then stop all pessaries)
HCG: 19,000
Ive been feeling nauseas all day today and have slept alot of the day. Not sure if its morning sickness or because my hormones are soooo high!
She said my ovaries are pumping and doing all the work themselves so i dont need any medicines to help.
bourbon - So happy to hear the news!!!! levels are soo good! wish i had some idea of what mine r! all i have are from 14dpo..
remember to eat every hr or two, something small, and lots of protein, it stops u feeling sick, cause i went only about 2.5 hrs without something and i could feel it coming back and then i ate and was fine! :)
hello chickies!!
ange- glad to hear your MS is gone...must be all the peanut butter!! I'm going to get me some..not that I have bad MS just the odd occasion of nausea! You asked how far I am, I'm 8.5weeks. How far are you? (sorry prob says somewhere but I havent looked back)
bourbon- yes of course you would be on rest with OHSS!! and now your MS has kicked in you will probably be regretting looking for it:laughing:. Hopefully now they are taking you off the meds your body will get back to some sort of normality and you can enjoy your pregnancy!(oh who am I kidding...can we really relax in the first trimester!!!)
sandramm- have you been getting headaches? I have been a bit dehydrated too but I think all the hormones and stress has brought mine on!Not to mention the fact that they've given me a nice break out on my forehead which I'm sure are contributing. So not long now til your scan, will pop in tomorrow to see how you go!
samarasmum- thanks for the info on the tummy pain, yes its a bit like a stitch..I'm glad to hear it is normal. Good luck with your BT tomorrow, try not to worry and compare the levels with your other pregnancy they are all different and its not really the amount but how much they rise thats important. Are you asking about voting saturday?? ...no...not looking forward to it:laughing:
Laura- If its of any comfort, the exact thing happened to me and I have also been spotting for the majority of my pregnancy so far. My FS said it is quite common, especially in IVFers. I know its hard not to worry, I've done my fair share!! Your scan was good! I have a couple extra scans booked in for my own peace of mind, maybe you could see if your clinic can do that for you?
Simone- the waiting is a biatch isnt it!! I'm sure we can all totally agree on that one! Please dont be alarmed on your 6week scan if they cant see anything, it is very early. They couldnt see a HB when they did mine at 6weeks but 7weeks totally different story! and yes I would have been on the July IVFers site last year (and prob every other month too!!!)
hi to anyone I have missed
afm- Went to my acupuncture appointment today, so nice for stress relief! Apparently acupuncture can help support the pregnancy so I'm all for it!
hayls - yeah must be the peanut butter and the ginger nut biscuits, plus i think the eating all the time!! I am 8 weeks on friday... since finding out exactly 4 weeks ago today, the time has gone quick i must say!! still, i will be more relieved once i have a scan, they see a heartbeat, tell me everything looks good and i get past the first trimester! :)

HELP!!! I need advice!
DH and I werent going to tell anyone about the pregnancy until i am 3 months.
Only problem is all our friends know the yrs of struggles we have had and have been really supportive and know we have just finished another cycle.
At first DH agreed we would keep the results quiet until the safe point but let me tell you he is USELESS!! Everyone is asking how i am, how the ivf went, has it worked, am i pregnant and DH just gives cryptic replies but ones that obviously imply i am pregnant! Now he comes home tonight saying we should tell everyone after my scan (ill only be 7 weeks).
In a way i want to tell people, i guess if i did m/c (god forbid) id want to tell everyone and get their support but on the other hand im so scared of jinxing it!
What do i do? We cant hold off the thousands of questions much longer!!
I guess i shouldnt have even mentioned the ivf in the first place but people then hassle asking when youre having kids, cant win!
bourbon- We had the same dilemma! All our friends and even DH work knew we were doing IVF and so of course they would ask as they knew whenever we were doing a cycle. I told my closest friends that I see all the time (no way I could hide it) but dh is still out there giving everyone else the cryptics:laughing:.. so now we think they either must know or they might be thinking there is something wrong with me!!! It's hard when they know that you are going through a cycle..I guess we all get so used to telling everyone "not this time" that we forgot to have a plan of action for when it IS "THIS TIME!!!"
I know how you feel about the jinxing it but nothing we say is going to jinx it!! I think the key is that whoever you tell remind them it is still early and you dont want to get too excited just yet!? That's what I said to my gf's that I have told. and you are right, if anything was to happen, you would probably end up telling them as you would want their support!
Having said all that, we have a friend's birthday to go to this sat night and its my dh closest group of friends (mine too now) but most of them dont know so I am unsure of whether to go (in which case we will have to tell them as I wont be drinking and they will guess straight away) or not to go...I'm starting to think what the hell and just go and tell them!!
sorry that was alot of blah blah blah..probably not very helpful at all!!!!!
hey bourbon and hayls...
what we have done, is everyone that knew we were doing the Ivf, we have told.. which is only some family and a few friends, we werent going to hide it from them, they knew what was going on anyway.. Everyone else who has No idea of our fertility problems and doesnt know we've had to do IVF, none of them are going to know until 3 months! I'd say though after ur first scan, if u want to tell everyone, go ahead, but for those who knew about the ivf, you prob shouldnt keep them in the dark, they want to be able to support you!
Hi ladies
I'm hoping that I will be joining you all in this thread soon. I just had my 2nd beta today and my levels have risen from 265 (14dpo) to 636 (16dpo) today. I am still in disbelief and feel like it's some sort of bad joke.
My scan is booked in for 2 weeks time and I will be 6w2d. I'm hoping that I get to the scan get told it's all good and to stop stressing!! I told myself I would be happy if my second beta was good but I am still feeling like an imposter. No symptoms, nothing. Bring on ms I say! Hopefully I will regret saying that.
Bourbon I totally get your dilemma about who to tell. I figured I would tell the people the know about my IVF that bother to follow up with me and immediate family. I am heading to Qld tmw for a party and am trying to come up with excuses for why I wont be drinking. I wonder if I had a stomach bug and am on antibiotics will cut it?
Hi to everyone else .

Sandramm Good luck with your scan tomorrow.
SimoneK Monday is closer than you think. Not long now.
Ange It good that your MS is just about gone.
Bourbon Your levels are great. It’s good that you are reducing your meds. It is hard when people know about the IVF you can tell them you will let them know in a couple of months and ask them not to ask until then. That way you’re not saying yes and you’re not saying no.
Lynch Your levels are rising nicely
Hayls It’s good that you are nice and relaxed after acupuncture. I don’t think anyone is looking forward to it.
AFM just hanging out for tomorrow.

Samara - goodluck tomorrow i bet you will be glad when its all out of the way and you receive the reassurance you need.
Lychee - Congratulations!! I totally understand your disbelief, i still feel like that! Its funny how we wish sore boobs and M/S upon ourselves and then when we get it we feel sorry for ourselves  I hope you have a smooth sailing pregnancy.
Hayls/Ange - thankyou so much for your feedback with my dilemma, very very much appreciated and i understand what you both are saying.
AFM: I have already told all my family and let DH tell his work (since they dont know my other friends the grape vine cant spread much further lol) but like you guys mentioned all my other friends have been there through the failed ivf cycles and just want the best for us. One said to me "i dont know whether to console you or congratulate you :("
I sent them all messages before finding out myself that id like to keep the news to myself until im past the '3 month safe zone' and if its neg ill just keep that to myself also and they all said they understand but of course now they are getting too curious and probably frustrated and just want to know! Its funny coz DH was soooo against telling anyone even my family but now hes the one wanting to tell people! I do want to tell them, i kind of feel i owe it to them and maybe i will after my 7wk scan next week and say its early days etc and to keep it quiet eg: dont go advertising it on facebook.
I get a little annoyed with some because they think im lying when i say ive been really sick with OHSS (ive been so sick ive been on bed rest for about 3.5 weeks) they think its preg related when its the ivf drugs not the preg.
They try to give advice "do this go out do that" when they dont understand ivf at all or ohss. I know they are just trying to help but they make me feel like a liar or like im talking it up. I know now when i say im preg they will say "i knew it!" and start handing out advice on this and that which to tell you the truth i dont want, ivf is not as straight forward as a normal healthy pregnancy and im still suffering alot with swollen ovaries and pain and dont want them telling me i should be doing this or that!
Sorry for the :ecomcity: i love my friends to bits and DH and i will prob have to tell them next week id say! Wish me luck!
PS: Does anyone else feel like their bladder is sore or full all the time? I still sleep with my knees up in bed to take the strain off my lower stomach!

Bourbon- Congratulations on such awesome BT results, and for being able to come off the meds and have your body do all the work now.
I only told my mum, my DH mum, and his dad about the IVF as I didnt want people asking me a whole lot of questions and to constantly be giving me advice- when they have no clue about IVF themselves. This means that i can wait until the 12 week mark to announce it to everyone else.
Samara- Good luck today!!!
Lychee- welcome. Awesome news on the 2 BT results.
ange- Yay for being almost 8 weeks!!!
Hayls- I have been getting headaches and I can usually put it back to days when I have been running around and not drinking enough water. The accupuncture sounds good.
AFM: I am at work until 9am then driving to Westmead for scan, then back to work afterwards. Meeting DH there. My stomach is doing cartwheels and flips- so nervous!!!
sandramm1 - cant wait to hear how the scan goes!!!! let us know asap!!
lychee - i stayed around the july ivf and saw u got a BFP!!! so happy for u!! what is your due date and we'll put it on the roll call!! at a guess is it april 25th, im prob a day or so out! have u been told. Its EPU date take 14 days, and thats your start date! So jealous u get an Early scan at only 6 weeks 2 days! ive got mine next tues, (first one) and i'll be close to 9 weeks by then.. haha. dont wish any sickness upon yourself, or you'll prob get it bad... enjoy the next 2+ weeks feeling Fine still!!

hello everyone
Hayls - thanks for the advice, its so funny how many people say it happened to them too when I tell them, so I am trying to relax a bit, but will always be scared till I get to 12 weeks. My GP has ordered more betas and also I get to have another scan on Wednesday, I will be over 9 weeks then, so all being well then I get to see bubba again! I think we are due on same day are we? Can I ask how long yours lasted and when it started is it brown then red but just light?
Sandra - good luck for today sweetie - so exciting!
Samara - Good luck for you today too
Lynchee - Congrats and welcome to the family:smiliedance:
bourbon - we also had told a lot of people about IVF as after 4 years of ttc people ask when r u having kids a lot and the only way we found to shut them up was tell the the truth. So we just decided who ever asked we would tell but say it was early days, if they didn't ask we wouldn't tell till 3 months. it was surprising who asked and who didn't. But a lot of people know about me now. thing is this bleeding has scared me and now I am wishing I hadn't told everyone as I might have to 'un-tell' them and that is what I cant face doing........ its a hard dilemma.
AFM - still having light bleeding/spotting getting more betas today and an u/s on Wednesday still feel sick and tired but the worry is killing me......keep telling myself its normal though and bub is still there. I have an exam on Tuesday and have done nothing, due to the distractions of pregnancy.......I had better get revising xxx:wave:

Laura - sorry you are having such a hard time and still getting bleeding and spotting. I hope all the new tests put your mind at ease just a little at least. Goodluck for your exam on tues, man you have alot on your plate!
Just think all that studying has to make bubbs smarter too
Sandra - All the best for your u/s today, yay you get to see bubbs :yelclap:

AFM: Starting to feel nauseas in the mornings now. Also still constipated which gives me stomach pains. Ive added some All bran (ANA cardboard..) to my cereal to hopefully help things along!

Lauralollipop- I hope it is all fine for your scan on wednesday- I really am pretty sure it will be. Good luck for your exam.
Bourbon- Yay for early morning nausea- not. Poor thing- just try and eat when you first wake up.
AFM: Thanks for all your well-wishes. So I had my dildo-cam ultrasound and got to see my precious little chicken- there was only one in there. They were unable to say whether the bleed was the other embie or something else. But definitely one sac, one little yolk and a little chicken with a strong heartbeat of 127. As soon as she told me there was a baby there I burst into tears- I was so relieved and happy. She then did lots of measurements while I sat there with the biggest smile on my face staring at my little chicken on the screen. I am measuring 6 weeks 4 days- so a few days behind- but they said that that is fine. We even got a little photo- which I keep staring at.
I have booked my OB which is also my fertility specialist- so hoping continuity of care will be good.
It definitely feels more real having seen my little bean- now I'm on :cloud9:.
I have my 1st appointment with my OB on 7th Sept- So 2 and a bit weeks to wait!!!

Just updating OB appointment and my due date they said was the 10th April- but will wait for OB to confirm.
sandramm- Yay!!! So good to see a healthy little bean with a strong HB!! you must be feeling so relieved today! I thought you would be fine as you are getting all the preg symptoms so I am sooo happy for you! My sonographer said it can also be dissidual bleeding, the little one is burrowing and can hit a blood vessel and cause bleeding.
laura- hiya, I am still spotting..have been pretty much the whole time! The other day when I had the big bleed (red) that lasted a day but was still red the next day only alot less. Then it turned to brown and has been brown (very dark) spotting ever since. I did have one more day since then that there was more red bleeding though. My clinic put me on provera to stop the bleeding but it hasn't actually stopped it completely. When I had the last scan the sonographer told me I had dissidual blood still in my uterus and showed it to me on the screen (shows as black shadows) so I fully expected to have more! He told me that it doesnt affect the baby at all, its us thats the worry...the stressing!! We have to try to relax as much as we can. Are you doing any exercise? I would recommend not to, I've been told to rest ..not even bring washing in,clean house etc (glad dh was with me when they said that:laughing:) so hope you are able to take it easy. The only thing that can be a worry is if we do too much activity that increases the bleeding, then it can put baby at risk..but on that note..he did say "training for marathon etc" ..and that's definately not me!! and yes...I think we are due same time!!
Thanks for the welcome everyone :).
Sandramm it's great that ur scan went so well and u r now on cloud 9. Thx for sticking around in July for me.
Ange, a big thx to u too. I know should have prob moved over to the august thread when July got quiet but I wanted to stick it out in July and hope for the best... Even if it was a little lonely! I'm not sure of my EDD yet. I had a FET on the 7th but it was a six day embie so I can't work it out. I think ur estimate of 25 april would b very close though. I would love a little Anzac baby. Hmm makes me think I should nickname my little one 'cookie' or 'biscuit' for Anzac biscuit.
I'm on my phone so can't really do many personals today. Off to Brisbane tonight so will catch up properly when I get back and pop myself on the roll call.

Hi ladies :)
I'm tiptoeing into this thread. I'm only 5 weeks along and am still extremely apprehensive about getting to the first scan without disaster striking. That said, our hcg numbers were good and I am quietly hopeful. I see some familiar names (so very nice to have you on this thread, Hayls!) and I'm looking forward to sharing all the ups & downs with you all and with those who will be joining us along the way.
My only symptoms right now are sore BBs and 4am waking. My brief experience with pregnancy earlier this year has me dreading MS but at the same time I'd welcome the daily proof that I am in fact UTD! :D

ange- It was the technician who told me my due date and previously I had just worked it out online. So will wait to see OB and then update the rollcall to the "real" date
Oooh forgot to say that my fertility clinic were so happy to hear I was only having one, as they have had 3 sets of triplets in the past few weeks!!! not to mention twins too.
Lychee and KimInMellie - Welcome, it's great to have you over here! I know what you mean, Kim, about being apprehensive. I won't be convinced this pregnancy is real until, I dunno, 8 1/2 months?
Sandra - That's awesome news about your scan. Congratulations! I'm both nervous and excited about mine on monday. Trying not to get my hopes up as it's only gonna be 6 weeks and 3 days in.
Hayls and Laura - Hope your spotting stops soon. It must be nerve wracking even though people say it's very common.
Bourbon - How bad is the nausea in the morning? Do you feel like you're actually going to throw up?
Samarasmum - Do you have your BT results yet?
AFM I started to feel sick about lunch time today, but maybe it's cause I was in a classroom with a bunch of 13 year olds. I don't feel too crash hot now - massively bloated, queasy, tired, so I'm going to sneak off early from school. Hopefully I won't get busted by the *****y vice principal! It's funny actually, last year we had a record number of pregnancies for a small school. 4 of the western staff and about 8 of the vietnamese staff. Loooots of maternity leave. At our first staff meeting last week the principal joked that no-one was allowed to get pregnant this year. I nudged DH who was sitting next to me. Another teacher said "And how are you going to stop them?" Got a good laugh!

Samara - im glad your bt levels are all strong and healthy. Its always such a relief to get that confirmation.
SimoneK - my nausea is mild at the moment but ive just noticed it in the last couple of days. If i eat frequent small meals and rest its not too bad. Wow lots of pregnant teachers how funny! Must be good preg vibes at that school!
Sandra - Yay!!!! What a relief to see the strong heartbeat. And you got a photo, how cool, i hope i get one too! Wow lots of multiples at your clinic huh!
Kim/Mellie - I am only one week ahead of you and feel the same way, more and more relieved with each blood test to confirm levels are increasing but still worried my happiness bubble is going to be burst. I guess its only normal. :fingerscrossed: we all have fantastic pregnancies.
Lychee - Hope all is well with you, enjoy your trip to Brissy.
Hayls - That must have been comforting to be shown on the u/s the residual blood which causes the spotting. Weve been 'trained' for so long that blood is bad from the ivf cycles etc and even though its common in pregnancy it still puts the shivers down our spine. Im glad your bub is healthy and well x
AFM: Had a big morning this morning at the shops with DH. We were walking through the food hall saying "cant eat that, cant have that, what the H can i eat!!" I ended up getting a toasted cheese, tomato and onion sandwich but it made me feel sick because there was wayyyy too much cheese in it! Also satisfied my craving for hot chips (naughty naughty) but im back to my usual healthy eating now. I think next time im out ill get either a salad made fresh or soup or something.
I bought a book while i was out called "Up the Duff" its quite good and talks from week one onwards. I wasnt going to buy any at this stage but couldnt find anything else i wanted to read (its my bday soon and all my fav books r on my bday list).
7 week scan next wed aahh!

Greetings from 5am in Hanoi. Been up since 4am every single morning for the last week, but it sounds like the rest of you have too!
Clare - Welcome and congratulations - when's your due date?
Bourbon - Man, reading about your toasted cheese and tomato sandwich made my mouth water. My pre-pregnancy diet was pretty much protein and vegetables but now all I want is CARBS DRIPPING WITH CHEESE!
Samarasmum - That's fantastic news about the BT results. How many DPO are you?
AFM I am very glad it's Friday and the first week of school is finished. Unfortunately I'm also studying (supposedly) full time for a Dip Ed and this weekend I have to do a devastatingly boring 2000 word assignment on curriculum. And I'm totally brain dead. And my fellow teachers want me to go out drinking with them on Friday AND Saturday night. I think I'll have to reel out the old 'antibiotics' excuse. Which is a good one here in Vietnam as stomach bugs are very common. It's not unusual to see teachers bolting down the corridors, heading for the toilets! As for telling people we're going to wait til 12 weeks and hopefully after getting tested for everything.
Actually I wanted to ask everyone about exercise. Is anyone doing any? I used to go to the gym about 4 times a week, running and weights, but I'm a little scared to now as I'm still getting AF cramps on and off. I guess I could go there and just walk and do light weights. Or maybe I should hold off for a few more weeks. I don't really feel like I have the energy to go.
Another thing - is everyone's bloating just in their lower abdomen? Mine's lower abdomen AND stomach and I look like a barrel. Sorry for all the questions. Have a good day!

Simone- wow it sounds like there was something in the water at your school last year with all those pregnancies. Now its your turn!!!
What is it with 4am? These bubs need to get on our time!!!
Samarasmum- Congrats on the awesome BT results. My poor husband is just itching to tell people we are pregnant. It must be a male thing "look what I can do/did" even though bubs wasnt conventionally conceived.
Bourbon- Its okay to treat yourself occasionally ;). You will have to let us know how the book is. Do you have anything planned for your birthday?
 Clare- welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy. We got our BFP on our 2nd ICSI too.
 ange- you back at work? Hope you are taking it easy either way.
 Laura- hope all is going well for you sweetie.

Bourbon - I have that book Up the Duff too. It is hilarious. I used it with my last pregnancy and it is so funny to read that week and you go "yes - that is exactly how I feel". Also, I noticed that you said that next time you were out you would have a salad - big no no that one. If the salad leaves are not washed correctly then they can also carry listeria. You are better to stick to freshly cooked food at all times..... sorry to bugger you up there as well :chef:
kiminmellie- hiya!! nice to see you joining us!! I too was very apprehensive to join in and didnt until I was 7 weeks! but the good thing in here is we are all in the same boat with our worrysome minds so you are not alone!! Its nice to be able to share our experiences. so congratulations to you, I know you have been waiting awhile for this xx
clare- congratulations and welcome, look forward to sharing with you x
bourbon- that book sounds interesting! I have the "what to expect when you're expecting" book somewhere..since we moved house I'm not sure where I packed it but have been meaning to find it so I can check everything! I've been having a few lunches out and have ordered salads which I check that they make fresh..although now I feel a bit worried as you just dont know what goes on in the kitchens so I might stick to cooked only things from now on!! and its funny, I did feel comforted when the sonographer first told me about the bleeding but worries filter through still!! I am a worrier!! I am hanging out for mondays scan to make sure things are still ok!
hi to everyone, sorry bit slack on the personals this morning...be back later xx

hello
simone - I was giggling reading your post as I am also feeling brain dead and there is not much studying going on for me and I have a pharmacology exam on Tuesday! I am usually well swotting away weeks before, but just cant do anything now
Bourbon - I also have up the duff and what to expect when your expecting and I got one with pictures too called pregnancy bible, I leave them out so I can look things up on an evening when I am feeling crap
Samara - great news for the BT
Sandra - great news on the scan, its amazing isn't it, we also go a picture and I look at it all the time to remind me im UTD!
Welcome to Claire:wave:
AFM I still feel total crap, and my body aches all over today, my right arm feels quite numb I feel like I am having a heart attack. I waking up about 4 times during the night to pee, my bladder is forward and is squashing bubba to the right, so when bubba gets bigger its going to squish my bladder big style so I'll be peeing my pants by then.
I get my betas today, hope everything still ok. Bleeding looks like its stopping now:fingerscrossed: but then it stops and starts

Laura - u poor thing, no pregnancy glow just yet for you huh. I hope when you get to your second trimester the M/S settles and you can start to enjoy your pregnancy. Goodluck with your bloods today
Hayls - I also worry about the kitchens in restaurants because you hear so many horror stories. DH says "thats ok eat that" but then i remind him we dont know how long its been sitting there and if its from a few days ago! Might just have to settle on veges and meat that has been cooked then and there (well done of course..). We can have competitions on whos the biggest worrier coz dont worry every time i get good results im back to worrying about the next week! yay for u/s monday!
Donna - DOH! no salads either!!! Im gonna starve, what can i eat lol! DH and i walked all around the shopping centre saying "nope cant eat that..." its so hard especially when you dont know how clean restaurants etc are.
Sandra - Yes DH bday is the 24th and mine is the 30th so we are combining them and going out for dinner with all my family. I dont feel like 'partying' with friends or anything but some have said "ill bring some food over" hmm how am i gonna get out of this one as obviously i cant eat take away chicken and most other things! How are you going?
SimoneK - thats good you can use the antibiotics excuse, looks like you are suddenly going to be one of those people with a very weak stomach that needs them constantly right
My cheese etc sandwich was HORRIBLE. They did a bad job i threw most away it just made me sick. I think i found half a piece of tomato and the rest was sickening dripping cheese (and i love cheese so thats saying something!) Im not doing any exercise i just dont want to risk it in the first trimester. I have put my gym membership on hold so i dont waste it. Dont worry i am a barrel stomach also! Its starting to finally deflate but i look more pregnant than most people further along!
Ange - Happy 8 weeks for your bubby!!
Clare - Welcome to our 'family' Hmm sounds like a cult lol  Congrats on your bfp and yay for being 8 weeks :smiliedance:
Hi to everyone else -
AFM: Is everyone having showers at a lower temp? I LOVE my hot showers but since my last ivf cycle and now that im preg i only have a little bit of hot on which is killing me! But ive read thats what you should do and heard that from a FS too. Bring on summer, my teeth chat when i get out!
DH has gone to Karratha for work and is back tomorrow night then next week he is away most the week. Cant wait til he starts his new job where the hours are less, no going away and money the same and gets higher fast!
Was awake at 1am this morning... stupid bladder!

Hi girls & thanks for the welcome :)
Simone, I admire you for having the fortitude to navigate an unfamiliar health-care system along with a pregnancy. I'm still trying to figure out the Aussie system, and I've been here for nearly 3 years!
Samarasmum, those are good numbers. You must be relieved -- I know I was when I got mine. Of course, then we just move on to the next anxiety ...
Bourbon, I don't stress to much about the shoulds & shouldn'ts of pregnancy. I have one cup of coffee a day (my usual even b/f I was UTD), I still have my hot showers (but no hot baths), and I definitely keep the food restrictions in mind but I won't let myself starve if there's nothing else available. The chance of contracting listeria is sooooo small here in Oz. I just try not to make stupid choices. :)
Clare, I hope you see amazing things on your scan tomorrow!
Laura, you're having a really rough time of it. I hope your BT has good news for you today. :hugs:
Hi to Hayls, Ange, Sandra, Josi, everafter, lychee, & the rest of the gang
AFM, I got my scan moved up a week! :smiliedance: So I'll be 6w2d when we see bub ... I know there's still a chance we won't get to see the HB at that stage so I've kept the appt for 7w2d as well. ;)
Question: how does your FC calculate due dates? Mine counts 38 weeks from ET (whether it's blasto or 2/3 day), not from EPU, so they've got my EDD as 25/4/11, 5 days later than all the internet calculators. I'm keeping it at 20/4 for us here, but I suppose it gives bub extra time to cook before everybody starts to get antsy about being 'overdue'. I just think it's weird that my clinic does it that way.
Off to buy a new bathrobe -- my tatty stained one just is NOT sexy! lol

Hayls- Monday isnt too far away now- 3 sleeps.
Laura- I hope the betas are all good. I have my :fingerscrossed: for you.
Bourbon- I'm not a "partyer" either. My perfect birthday would be dinner with my hubby and catching up for brunch with family. I guess if people offer to bring over food- just make sure you have some of your own food that you can eat if all of their choices are no-no's.
I have being showers slightly cooler than I would normally, but not to the point where my teeth chatter when I get out.
Kiminmellie- Tyhe internet worked mine out to be due on the 4th april, but my scan showed I would be due around the 10th april- So I just figure somewhere between there I will be due. Waiting to see what the OB says too.
AFM: Its my DH birthday today, so we have family coming over tonight for cocktail type food and cake. I made him Nigella's nutella cake as he is a nutella fiend. Have never made it before so I am hoping it tastes good.

Hey girls just a quickie
thanks for all the good wishes, my bloods had gone from 112000 to 130000 in 48 hours, the gp thought that this was not good and told me not to get my hopes up that it was a viable pregnancy!!!
It wasn't my normal gp as she is away today and so told me to see this other one. He said to have more betas on monday and my scan on Wed and then it will be more conclusive! I called Concept in a panic and they said that these results where fine and that they don't go off betas after 6 weeks as they are unreliable after that!
I feel so peed off that this Dr can say that to me, when he is just reading off a paper that in early pregnancy betas double every 48 hours...blah blah!! I am still worried but I don't feel too concerned as we saw the baby with a strong heart beat 2 days ago, and hopefully we will see it again and my spotting has now stopped........what a carry on! Concept should keep you till you are 12 weeks and not just leave you on yr own like this, I don't have private health cover so I don't have an Ob and this is scary!
I am also still having hot showers, its just hot baths that you can't have as they raise your core body temp, and if it is raised for more than so many minutes to over 39 degrees thats when embryo doesn't like it. So taking a hot shower is ok.
As for food the only 2 things I am avoiding is soft serve ice cream and soft cheeses. I wont eat salads or stuff which has been prepared in food courts and left out but I eat salad that I have washed and prepared and everything else, seafood etc... just make sure its hot and cooked properly. I would end up starved to death if I followed every do not eat instruction. As someone said the chances of listeria are so minute here thank goodness. Mind you this lil bubba has killed my love of food and I barely fancy eating anything at all:barf:

Laura - Are you going to get an Ob and go public? How long does Concept look after you for? Hollywood do blood tests right up to 8 weeks then we are on our own (in the hand of the Ob).
Sandra - happybirthday to your DH!! That Nigella cake sounds absolutely delicious!! :yelclap:
Kim/Mellie - I definately dont starve myself i just try to make sensible choices. The chances of Lysteria might be low but they are still there and why risk it i think. I couldnt live with myself if i was in that small percent who got it which can happen, and after yrs of TTC id rather just cut those foods out but thats just me and my choice.
AFM: Im playing the waiting game today, waiting for a man from IInet to come and check our phone line etc, we have got Bob installed and Fetch tv which are great but have had lots of problems with them so the techo is coming to find out why.
Dont get me wrong everyone about the hot shower thing, i meant i dont have lonnnggg hot showers like the ones i used to have, my teeth chatter when i get out regardless because its so dam* cold atm, wish i had a heater light in my bathroom
Hope everyones having a good day x
Hi Ladies!
Sorry I have been MIA for a few days, & have so much to catch up on!
Sounds like everyone is having a bit of a rough trot at the moment, so hope everyone is feeling a bit better.
Bourbon I agree with the eating thing - I kind of figure that we went through too much to get here, it's just not worth me risking anything (my FIL still asks me everytime we're there if I want a glass of wine!! WTF?!)
Laura I cannot believe that GP freaked you out like that!! Waht a joke, as if you aren't already in enough of an emotional state! Some people need to work on their people skills!
Hayles good luck for Monday, I am very jealous you're having your scan
Sandra that cake sounds soooo yummy!! Now I feel like cake - I might have to stop off on the way home.... DH will never know.... :o
Kim a big welcome & congrats to you!
Everyone else HI! Hope you are all holding up ok, with the sickness, the cravings, & the not telling people
AFM I was supposed to have my first scan with my OB on Monday (would be 7 weeks 5 days), but they called me today to push it back to Wednesday, when I'll be 8 weeks, cause the OB will be in surgery. ARGH!! I was so excited for Monday, & now I have to add an additional 2 more sleeps to my countdown. Oh well, I just keep telling myself that hopefully that means we will definitely hear the HB, cause I'll be smack bang on 8 weeks.
Also, still no MS for me yet - I dont know whether to be worried or relieved! I am still getting some stretching-like pains in my tummy, my boobs are still sore (but not as bad as they were), & I am still craving carbs like no tomorrow. I think I'll feel much more at ease once I have the scan though.
Take care ladies, & have a fabulous weekend! :smiliedance:

Moo you will definitely see a HB when you are 8 weeks, they could even see mine at 8 weeks by doing it on my belly and didn't even have to go trans vaginal, don't worry the time will fly and you are so lucky not to have any M/S!
Bourbon, Concept look after you till you are 7 weeks and have seen a heart beat then they send you off. I don't get a OB because I am public, I have to use GP then at 19 weeks I go to the antenatal clinic at JHC where they do the rest there......... I called them today and the earliest they will see me is 16 weeks. so looks like i'll just have to wait.... I don't feel like I am miscarrying as the last 2 times it happened I had terrible pain and lots of blood, Although I am worried.......
We where going to get BOB, what problems have you ha with it?
Has anyone had betas taken at 8 weeks? if so what where they and did they stop doubling but still go up??? I just want to know its normal........the spotting came back, just a small amount and still brown:no:

Moo79 - oh bummer about the scan being made later! Those few extra days feel like a lifetime dont they! I wouldnt want mine pushed to later either, its hard enough waiting til next wed!! I also am craving carbs mmm...
Laura - Is it the same at KEMH? My friend is going there for her pregnancy, she doesnt have health insurance this time around and has raved about the service although she has been made to wait a couple of times. She sees a proper Ob but im not sure when she started seeing one.
I will let you know when i get my 8 week BT, not sure what its supposed to be, i do know that the levels taper off and even decline at some stage but not sure when. May have to do some research on Dr Google lol :)
We have Bob for phone, internet and Fetch tv. The service as a whole is excellent, by getting rid of Telstra and Foxtel we have saved a fortune! And you get free national and local calls with bob :)
We have just had problems with them all dropping out etc.. the service technicians are VERY good though, they call all the time to check how things are going. The big honcho techo came out today and found there is a fault with our line which may be why we have been having so many problems. Thats Telstras fault not iinet as iinet rent the line off telstra. Wont be any cost to us for Telstra to fix the line.
lauralollipop
20-08-2010, 20:34
Please can you ask your friend about KEMH, I used to go to the fertility clinic there and it was horrible, but think that they would be great with pregnancy as thats what they do isn't it. I could ask the GP to give me a referral for there and see if I can get monitored any closer....... I have been googling miscarriages all day instead of revising, and now I am scared, upset and depressed. I don't know if I should do the u/s on Monday instead as GP said Wed but think I might have gone insane by then.......
Bourbon, please PM me about BOB as we have foxtel and broadband and phone with apt, was wondering how much cheaper it is and what channels you get etc.....
xx
hi everyone!!
sorry for not many personals, i have just read thru the past two pages!! amazing how much i miss out on while im at work for a day! such a busy thread already!
sandramm1 - yep been back at work three weeks now! i honestly dont know how long i will continue for. im 8 weeks now, i reckon by the time im 16 weeks i'll be leaving, its long hrs, on the road, physical stuff, (although i am not doing the usual stuff i used to do), but still, once i physically look quite pregnant, that i guess someone would know im preg, think thats when about i will leave and then spend the next 24 or so weeks in luxery till bubs comes.
moo79 - pity about the change, but hey its only 2 days, not too weeks i guess, and being 8 weeks should be able to see a clear piccie i guess.. enjoy the no sickness, i guess mine comes and goes, maybe it depends on what growth is happening with bubs at that time of week etc.. first half of week 7 i felt like hell, second half of week 7 which has just gone, ive felt Fine apart from tiredness etc! We all experience it differently.. I honestly believed once i Got sickness it would stay for 3-5 weeks etc! guess im lucky if it comes and goes and im feeling good more so then feeling bad!
Ive been told that Little morning sickess means a baby girl, while bad morning sickness means a boy! but hey, dont know whether to believe a bar of that - we'll have to wait and c!!
Ive still been having hot showers, im not in shower for as long and i asked my dr and she said it is fine and just dont sit in a bath, that is all. anyway girls, i am buggared, think i'll be having another early one tonight.. The latest ive been up all week has been 9pm! crazy hey! :)

Just crashing with a message for laura. I had the exact same thi g happen to me. I was spotting at around 6 weeks and was sent to do a BT by my GP. My hcg went from 12,000 to 19,000 and she told me it wasn't good news. I rang my clinic and they told me I shouldn't worry. You should only have 2 BT anyway to see if they have doubled. I think at 8 weeks your hcg levels have slowed down. I'm now 27 weeks. Goodluck... Damn the gp for scaring you like that.
Hi bourbon buddy sorry for crashing your thread :)

Bourbon I also have “Up the Duff” you can read it more than once. Another good one that I have is the pregnancy companion and it is basically a pregnancy diary with lots of information. I have used it for DD and DS and using different colour pens for each child.
Monday is getting closer. All will be good. Did you get BOB sorted?
Clare Welcome and congratulations on seeing a HB it is great. All my pregnancies where my second full ICSI cycles
Ange just hang in there cross fingers that everything is going to be ok.
SimoneK Early mornings seems like the norm around here. I have the addition of wakeup calls from DS hopefully he sleeps through when this one arrives. I am 24 DPO today. I have to hand it to you girls who are studying while pregnant because I don’t have a brain when I am pregnant.
Lauralollipop Hope you are feeling better soon. Your levels sound good. Good luck for your next scan. Sorry didn’t write down my levels in my diary for DS.
KimInMellie Did you find a nice new bathrobe. Yes I am relieved about my levels.
Sandramm The EDD does change throughout the pregnancy and Bubs will come when they are ready. happybirthday for your DH. How did the cake go?
Moo Don’t you just hate it how doctors change appointments on you. Good luck With you scan on Wednesday it will be great seeing a HB.
A Big Hi Donna, Hayls, dragongal and everyone else.
AFM Not good at cleaning up chuck. Poor DS is not feeling well and he threw up in the Car on the way to picking up DD. Hopefully it won't last long. DH has just come back from the doctors and DS has tonsillitis.

laura- That GP doesnt know what they are talking about. Your HCG doesnt keep on doubling after a certain point it tapers off. Take care of yourself and keep reminding yourself that you saw bubs and HB.
Bourbon-we have iinet too for phone and internet. We too have had ongoing probs with service dropping out. when it works it works well though. We need to have a tech come out to our place too.
Moo- I know its a pain having the scan pushed back but I think pregnancy and all this waiting really prepare us for the birth and rearing the child. Teaching us patience for when we will feel like pulling our hair out with our child.
ange- do you think you will go back to the same job at any point after bubs is born? Glad to hear you are taking it easy.
samarasmum- so sorry to hear your little one isnt well. I hope you take care of yourself too.
afm: DH liked the nutella cake but didnt think it tasted nutella-ry enough!!!! bl**dy hell it had 400g in there!!! It was a really moist choc-hazelnut cake- very rich.
I got myself up and ready early to go vote this morning and get it out of the way. Have come home and dusted and vaccumed all the floors now just need to mop, but having a rest first.

Hi ladies
just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all, you are all so kind and supportive. that Dr gave me a breakdown telling me not to get my hopes up and that the pregnancy wouldnt be viable, my hubby even asked him, if the levels slowed down by 9 weeks (as thats when it peaks), he was so rude and it made me cry all night.
Dragongal - thanks so much, I think that is just what I needed to here, I felt like I was cracking up and my DH called Linda at concept who also told me the same and that he was not a specialist and didn't know these things. so happy that you are now at 27 weeks, you have given me hope:hugs: thanks so much xxx
Last night after my meltdown, I sat in a depressive state and ate pizza and drank lemonade thinking I was obviously imagining my nausea as I was probably not UTD anymore, then I stood up to go to the toliet and :barf::barf: my DH couldn't stop laughing saying that now do I believe I am still pregnant?? the smell of my puke made me puke even more - it was so disgusting!
I felt like crap but was happy that I puked, my DH said that the baby was sending me a sign to say "don't worry mummy I am still here"
I will just hang tight now till Wed and hope to see my little "button" in there with another good strong heartbeat.
I will come back on later and do some personals hope you are all good and not feeling to sick today:wave: I have to work out who to vote for now and catch up with all that revision I didn't do yesterday cos I was moping.
have a great day ladies xxxxxx

Sandra - Did i tell you the iinet techo found a fault in our line? Which is good news as it might explain the drop outs. Its up to Telstra to fix this for free as its their line being rented by iinet. Ill have the nutella cake if dh is being too fussy  or maybe thats a bad idea i might eat it all. Youre a good girl voting and then being sadie the cleaning ladie! Dont work too hard, have lots of rests.
Samara - Up the Duff is funny isnt it! Its good it has week by week stories and explanations on whats happening. I really hated though how at week six they have a big chapter on miscarriage when thats the week im up to! Really didnt want to read that...
The iinet techo found a fault in our line so they are getting telstra to fix it and hopefully that will sort out bob.
Eww i couldnt imagine being preg and having to clean up sick kids spew i think id add to the vomit!
Dragon - dont be silly, come and crash our thread any time you want!
Ange - hey im in bed by about that time every night, either that or ive fallen asleep on the couch in front of tv
Laura - I cant really ask my friend about KEMH just yet because she is the one person who has been hassling the .. out of me on whether im preg or not so she will then ask even more questions! All she told me was she went private with her first child and because the second was unexpected and she didnt have health insurance she is going public with this one. She has raved to me that she is getting alot more attention this time than when she went public! She gets obs, physicians, you name it all sort of doctors come and see her each consult. And more frequent scans. However she is on whats called 'The Gold Team' because like me she has Multiple Sclerosis so is being monitored closely. I think you will get more answers asking your GP about them or ringing KEMH and asking them. She does have to sit in the waiting room for hrs and hrs sometimes though for appts and there are some feral people there.
As for Bob, apart from the dropping out (which may now be because of a suspected Telstra line fault not iinet) they have been excellent. We pay about $99 a month which includes Bob, free local and national calls, internet, and Fetch Tv (#2) which gives us all the channels we pretty much loved on Foxtel PLUS 30 movies free each month and series such as vampire diarys etc etc.. Wayyy cheaper than what we payed with Foxtel (we didnt even get movies with them either) and no more crazy expensive Telstra bills. Have a look on the net under Bob and also Fetch Tv. There is Fetch1 or Fetch2, we have #2 for the movies etc. The staff have been 150% helpful from day one.
Everafter - how are you? Havent heard from you in a while, hope everything is ok
AFM: Waking up earlier and earlier for my bladder call! Was up at 11:30pm last night couldnt believe it! Then again two hrs later, then again at 7am. Feel a little dizzy/nauseas/headache this morning but not massively jsut noticeable. Poor furbaby is sad when im on the computer, shes gone into the other room and i can hear her chewing her nails! She bites them all the time!
DH gets back this afternoon from Karratha :smiliedance:
He rings up and asks how im feeling "do i feel sick, have i got sore boobs, have i had any spotting, am i ok.." so cute :)
laura- that crappy Dr!! Some people have no idea.He doesnt sound very caring at all, it really annoys me when you come across someone like that who has no empathy for what you are going through...how did they get into the health industry!?!! I'm so glad you got a second opinion to give you some peace of mind! I wish I could tell you what my 8week BT levels were but I forgot to ask when they phoned me with results!!der!! but I do know that they dont keep doubling around that time, infact that is the last BT for awhile as they prefer to rely on the scans from now on as it is more reliable so don't pay too much attention to levels now and see how your scan goes. Your DH sounds gorgeous and very reassuring! I loved what he said about your little button sending you a sign.. and just remember, spotting is very common especially for us IVFers so try not to worry but also try to rest as much as possible xx
moo- what a pain to change your scan date!! but as everyone else has said, at least at 8 weeks you're guaranteed to see the little hb!!
bourbon- yay for your dh coming home!! Whats going on with that bladder of yours!! I find I'm getting up once in the night for the loo but then I cant go back to sleep..usually around 4am! Is your furbaby upset with you..not getting the walks, my furbaby is the same..she's used to going every day but pretty much nothing for the last 8 weeks!!! she mopes around the house now and looks at me like "who are you..what has happened to my mother??!!"
sandramm- that nutella cake sounds scrumptious!! I've been contemplating making blueberry muffins..have had the ingredients for a week now!
kim- my FC haven't given me a EDD yet..I might ask them on monday actually. I have just calculated online. So, what date is your scan now?
hi to sandra, samara, everafter, ange, simone, josi and everyone xx
afm- had a friends birthday dinner last night, only he and his wife in that group know about our preg..but after a few drinks he kinda let the cat out of the bag just as we were leaving!! I was already half out the door so didnt have to answer any questions and not quite sure who heard his comment..lucky they are people I dont see often!!

Hayls - i only usually get up at 4am and then cant get back to sleep also, not sure what happened last night, i didnt even drink much before going to bed (learnt that lesson lol). I think its coz my brain knew with DH not being home that i could get up and down without waking him up so it was on overdrive making the most of things!
Yes poor furbaby is very angry with me, she gives me big sad eyes all day, follows me around whimpering etc. I play ball with her outside (shes obsessed!) and DH walks her each day except when hes away obviously but she looks at me and i can read her mind saying "you used to be so much more fun!". I tell DH he is her favourite now which makes him happy (even though im her fav and she is a mummies girl ).
Whats with our DH's letting the cat out of the bag!!! It should be harder for us to hold onto the secret but they are useless  I guess they are just excited after all this time trying!
If people ask if im preg DH says cryptic things like "shes healthy" with a big grin, umm honey that kind of gives it away
Sandramm1 - i really dont know whether i will go back.. ive always thought i would, but when the time comes maybe i'll think differently! then again maybe i will be happy for the break and go back just part time! we'll see what happens. Also DP wants a fairly small age gap between first two children, so i reckon once first bubs is 1 we'll be starting ivf again, well doing a FET, have two of them to try, can only hope 1 will work!
bourbon - i was up at 11.30pm last night too! i couldnt believe it was so early still! i too, dont drink too much at night, and went to bed around 9ish, couldnt believe i only last 2 hrs. luckily then didnt have to go til 6ish.
Laura - im sorry youve been thru quite an up and down few days!! what a nasty dr! take care, hope the MS goes away real soon!
hi to everyone!!

Q: Does anyone have any pains in their bladder region of their stomach kind of like the pain felt after EPU? Its not a UTI or anything, im not sure if its because of the swollen ovaries and ohss? Im 6 weeks though, thought the pain would subside?
Hi Bourbon, I am still getting all sorts of abdominal pains in all sorts of places. Sometimes it feels like it's my cervix, sometimes my ovaries, sometimes the pains are sharp and sometimes a dull ache like AF pains.
AFM went to bed at the incredibly late hour of 11pm, woke up at 2.45am with severe nausea. The nausea actually woke me up. Haven't actually vomited but I've been close, sitting on the tiles by the loo. It's been coming and going in waves for the last couple of hours with lots of stomach pain, like there's a fist in my tummy squeezing. Have forced down two plain crackers but they didn't help. Oh god. It's nasty.
Ok, I feel pregnant now!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA. I have been on bed rest, but don't worry all's good now. Have been starting to experience nausea. So things must be on track.
Hayls-Sorry to hear you have such bad headaches. Does the acpuncture help get rid of them?. I agree with what you said about us being so used to saying "not this time" when people ask how our last cycle went, that we DO forget to have a plan of what to say when it "did work this time".
Ange- Peanut butter on toast worked for me, thanks! Glad your m/s is almost gone. I have the same thourghts about baby #2 (not that we want to get ahead of ourselves) but I'd say me and DH will be going back to IVF rather quickly after this one is born, as I'm 34 now, so don't want to be to old having the rest of our family.
Bourbon-Thanks for your concern it was very sweet. Fantastic B/T results. I know what you mean about being pleased your not working. I'm the same. I quite my main work 4yrs ago to fully focus on TTC (only working on our farm still) I don't think I'd be pregnant now if I was still at that job with the same stress levels. So I totally feel for anyone out there still having to work while pregnant. I know how lucky I have it.
Sandra- Congrats on your U/S scan.
Laura- Sorry about your scary news, glad things are under control. Best not to google miscarrages. The mind is a powerful thing and can convince your body of things, remember, so don't give it the chance to get into that head space. I am so mad at that GP, he's the one that started you doubting!:banghead: He has no right giving pregnacy addvice when he clearly knows nothing. Love your DH:thumbsup:that's so cute that he re assured you that bubs was sending you a message.
SimoneK- You're doing it hard being in Vietnam. I find it hard enough here to avoid things. You're amazing to be going through this there, I really admire you. Glad you'll be able to hid "it" from the staff for a while as it's not un common for people to dash to the bathroom, but with that many in your school being pregnant last year...the magnifine glass may be on you! lol Good luck.
Lychee- Welcome! There's no " hoping I'll be joining this thread" YOU'RE IN! Congrats on your fantastic news.
KimInMellie- I can understand your apprehension after already having m/c's before, but join in and you'll have our support no matter what.
Samarasmum- Good levels, you must be pleased.
Clare76-Welcome. We look forward to experiencing this journey with you.
Moo79- Sorry to hear you scan has been moved to Wednesday. But you'll definately get to see the HB. I'm getting stretching-like pains too. Wierd feeling isn't it?
Hi to everyone else. I can't believe how busy this thread is now. Miss a day...and you'll be sorry. lol

Lauralollipop- glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better emotionally but not so good that you puked.
Bourbon- sorry theres no cake left!!! We may have a fault in our line too. So cute your DH keeps ringing to check in with you about how your are.
I'm not having pains in my bladder at the moment, but sounds like it is still oHSS related.
Hayls- the blueberry muffins sound like a good idea- there my fav flavour. Dont you just love how with a few drinks people forget what they are supposed to say/not say?
ange- We were thinking of starting IVF again when bubs is 9 months old- that way can go back to work for a bit and get mat leave again. We dont want large ages gaps between kiddies either.
Simone- that nausea sounds vicious!!! I hope it doesnt stick around. As bad as it is try and stay hydrated and stick to plain foods.
everafter- Hope you are feeling a bit better and the bed rest is helping.
 to everyone else.
AFM: went car shopping for DH mum this morning and she got a toyota carolla. Picks it up on tuesday. Rest of the day will be quiet

For something fun check this out, it predicts the sex of your child, my friend said it worked both times with her two pregnancies lol
Im apparently having a girl woohoo!
www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/TDB/BabySex.asp
thanks for that Bourbon - wow im then having a girl too!!!
everafter - so glad the peanut butter toast helped you! i honestly cant believe how different im feeling now compared to only 5-7 days back! its really wierd.. maybe the MS will come and go or maybe i only had a little bit and i'll be ok from now on!
sandramm1 - good idea i think about small age gaps, esp since the older we end up getting too our chances slightly decrease too, plus of course if first time back doesnt work, we might have to have a month off then try again etc!! we hope to have atleast 3, but then again think we'll take it one child at a time and then see what we think!
hope everyones having a lovely arvo!

Sandramm Men are never satisfied. I have a Corolla wagon but it will not fit 3 car seats in it.
Lauralollipop It is amazing how we are happy that we feel like crap.
Bourbon When My DS catches me on the computer he will come up to me and turn it off. So I have to wait until he is not around or in bed when I can get on.
Hayls When are you going to let everyone know?
Ange we have and age gap between #1 and #2 is 2 Years 6 months and the next gap will be 3 years 3 months between #2 and #3
Everafter Yes I am very pleased with my results not as stressed. If you miss 2 days on this thread it take all night to catch up
SimoneK Hope you feel better Soon
Big :wave:everyone else.
AFM Symptoms come and go. Just waiting for BT on Thursday.

Hi Ladies,
I'm hoping I can join your thread. I got my BFP on our first ICSI cycle. I'm due April the 3rd.
I'm suffering the worst morning sickness all day and night. I've had all the nausea medications and now I'm on the Zofran wafers and still throwing up on them! Too make things worse I travel a lot for my job - every week somewhere different in Australia. I live in Melbourne and today I'm off to Cairns for a week.
I'm starting to think it's twins the nausea is so bad! Even though my 7 week scan showed one!
Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel and I hope you don't mind me crashing your thread.
Carrie x
Hi everyone :)
Had a great time in Brisbane. Had a 30th party to go to so alot of people were very suspicious that I wasn't drinking. Only a few people asked me outright and I just gave the antibiotics story. I think most of them bought it, although my SIL did say a few people were coming up and asking her if I was utd.
Carrington, welcome and congratulations on ur BFP!!! I can't personally speak about ms but my SIL is pg and had severe ms. She is fine now and said it eased up at 12 wks. I hope urs eases up soon. It must be so hard having to travel and work feeling like c*ap.
AFM, 5 weeks today apparently. I am feeling a little worried as the big symptoms like sore (.)(.) and ms haven't made an appearance yet. The only thing I am suffering is bloating but don't know if this is a combination of pessaries, limited food choices (so eating carbs etc) and no gym. I am getting tired (but that could also b from poor food and no exercise) & have a watery mouth but that's it. Did anyone else have little to no symptoms at 5wks????
Hope everyone is well. :) Will send personals as soon as I can get on my computer. Had big plans last night but was in bed by 7:30.
morning girls!
lychee - congrats on 5 weeks! dont worry about not feeling any symptoms at this stage, most do not! that say wk 5 and 4 r very similar. not much growth is happening yet, and you're likely to feel fine! I too felt fine, just a little more tired but no MS in sight at all! week 6 and 7 may be a different story though, thats when i started to feel like i would chuck (the 1st four days of week 7 being worst), im now 8.5 weeks and feel good! some foods r prob helping that so im sticking to them, but im just happy now i can go to work and feel good!
Carrington - Welcome and congrats!!! i am due close by to u too- april 1st! im so sorry to hear of the bad morning sickness! all that travelling wouldnt be helping it one bit either! I hear about 90% of women with morning sickness ease up by week 12, so there is light at the end of the tunnel! Hope u start to feel better soon, i found peanut butter on toast to help, in morning first thing and just before bed, maybe worth a shot, but im sorry the meds dont seem to be working either! my MS hasnt been too bad, mainly a little week 6 and abit worse week 7!
anyway better be getting ready for work now! :)

Bourbon- Did you put in date of EPU for date of conception? I did and it said I was having a boy!!! It will be interesting to see- I went to a psychic years ago and she told me a girl- so far all of her other predictions have been spot on- so who will win psychic or chinese calendar???
Samarasmum- my symptoms come and go too- except for sore boobies- they are constant at the moment.
 Carrington- welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm so sorry to hear the MS is really bad- most people stop around 12 weeks so hopefully you can hold on.
Lychee- MS and the like usually hit around 6 weeks to 8 weeks so no cause for concern. Plus some lucky ladies have no symptoms.
ange- have a good day at work.
 everyone else
AFM: Just hanging out for my OB appointment on the 7th Sept- 2 weeks to go!!!
Hi Everyone ,
It is so good to see all of the ladies with BFP's landing here. So exciting to have such a steady stream.
Laura - OMG, your Dr is just such a prick. Please don't take to heart what he's said. I've read that HCG levels double early on in pregnancy but as you move past the first month they level out and are no longer a predictor. Get in for that scan ASAP to put your mind at ease. I was exactly the same as you, googling miscarriages all day. It just does your head in. I am sure everything is OK, good luck with your scan.
Sandram - I've got the same ob appointment date as you. It is my first so I hope that the bubs are OK and I like my ob.
Moo79 - good luck with your scan!!
Hayles - I'm so worried about getting backache with twins as I've already got a bad back under normal circumstances. I'm going to go to the physio to get preventative measures. Have you found anything to help?
Carrington - congratulations on your BFP and welcome!!! I also have terrible morning sickness.. I'm hoping it doesn't stick around for too much longer, but I do sympathise with you.
Bourbon - It is so easy to give away isn't it? I've already got people asking me. It is so hard to lie so I just give a 'non answer' which they probably see straight through. I swear to god I am showing (although maybe it is just all of that crappy food and zero exercise I've been doing). I always had this vision of myself swanning around as a fit and healthy pregnant person, glowing etc, etc... mmm I didn't count on starting off totally unfit.
Lychee - good to see you here and congratulations on being 5 weeks!!
Ange - how is the teeth cleaning going???
 Simone, everafter, kiminmellie, clare76
AFM, I have been sooooo sick.:barf:!!! I feel bad as i should be on:cloud9:, and I am, but i just feel like crap!! I have about 20 minutes where I feel OK just after eating but otherwise I'm just sick. I guess it is twins. We've got 4.5 weeks until we hit that end of week 12 milestone and are just so counting down.
DH and I went away for the weekend which was lovely - I needed it. I had fish and chips for both dinner and lunch the next day. It was all I could eat.... so healthy!!
bourbon11646
23-08-2010, 11:15
Josi - thats a bummer about the M/S but glad you and DH had a nice weekend away. Be careful how much fish you eat sometimes those fish n chips places lie on what kind of fish they are using. Where did you go on your time away?
Sandra - Yes i used epu for date of conception. Thing is though my friend who told me about the calculator and who says it was right both times used her et date (i told her its meant to be epu but she doesnt believe me lol) so who knows! Will be interesting to see..
Not long til your ob appt, how exciting :yelclap:
Ange - hey there how are you?
Lychee - Thats good that you had a great time in Brizzy, funny about the antibiotics story, too bad if they dont believe it - thats whats happeing and youre sticking to it
Dont worry about no symptoms, im 7 weeks on wed and i still dont really have many symptoms. Have only had slight nausea for a couple of days and thats it! They come and go and get worse as bubbs grows then subside again in second trimester.
Carrie - Welcome  Wow you lucky thing getting a bfp on your first cycle thats awesome! And youre not crashing our thread, this thread is for everyone :)
Sorry you have had bad M/S, kind of takes the fun out of being pregnant especially when you have alot of travelling to do. Have you had to catch any planes? My friend used to throw up every morning on the train on her way to work and people looked at her like she was a drunk!
Samarasmum - same here, symptoms come and go, BT wed lol.. (instead of thurs..)
Hi to those MIA -
AFM: Woke up at 4:30am for my bladder call then of course couldnt sleep and now im sooooo tired my eyes are dropping out of my head. Its gonna be hard being sleep deprived with a baby but bring it on!
I decided im not telling anyone but family about our bfp until 3 months. I told DH stuff em they can wait, they made us wait until their safe zones why shouldnt we? We have every right not to tell people so there!!
Went for a walk (very slow and gentle) with DH and furbaby and i had a tight warm top on and i looked soooo preg with my bloated belly. It still hasnt gone down after ohss and epu. DH says "everyone is going to guess u are UTD anyway looking at you!!" but ive got that sorted honey coz im not wearing any tight clothes around friends lol
BT and ultrasound on wed!!!! Im scared, and excited.. im gonna take my camera to take a pic of the screen..
 Everyone,
Hope your pregnancies are smooth sailing and you are all feeling well.
I have a question to ask as this thread is a fast mover and might get some answers quicker.
Do you know if clinics can perform Assisted Hatching on a Frozen 5 day blast? Sometimes the shell can be a little tougher when frozen (and I realise some are ready to hatch when thawed) but all in all, just wondering if it can be done.
Enjoy your day everyone :flowerz:
