Oliver is going nuts! Since about 3pm his poor cheeks are so red and he's been crying nearly constantly. :(

He has quiet a nasty bump on his gum now....so hopefully its a tooth and it will be thru soon! :crying:

I dont want to give him panadol, but I think we might have too, he's so upset!

The babe gets more crankier late in the day when he is teething. From about 5 - 5.30 it really comes to a head. I usually bring everything forward a little bit so he goes to bed earlier and comforted earlier.
I dont particularly like giving panadol, but I have used it a couple of times and it has helped alleviate the pain. I gauge his pain from his behaviour and usually bonjela does the trick.

Hi Kat
I was just saying this to DH yesterday afternoon. Charlotte seems to be so much more crankier & whinging in the late afternoons/early evenings. We just go round & round in circles with teething rings, gel & cuddles until she's ready for bed. I don't like to give panadol much either but sometimes I think it really is the best thing for them & us :D

Get some Brauers Teething Relief it seriously works wonders plus being natural your not doping bubs up.

You will find bubs gets crankier in the evenings with or without the teething but more so if they are. They dont call it the "witching hour " for nothing

The fun we go through !

Thanks Ally - I'll get Steven to pick some of that up on the way home! Oliver has been upset and grizzly all day...:( He's sleeping well, so that is a plus, but when he is up he's in a real state. :(

Ive been trying not to give him Panadol, but I think when he wakes up this time I'll give him some so he isnt to upset all afternoon. I might even go for a drive later so that he can have another snooze in the car. :(

I was just wondering if this sounds like teething to you? My daughter has developed lots of little pimples around her chin, cheeks and nose, she chews everything, mostly her fingers, she got diarrhoea this morning and I think i can feel little bumps on her gums, but I am not sure.

Yep, rosey cheeks are suppost to indicate teething....all the other things can be developmental, but they child health line nurse told that red cheeks make it teething usually!

Her cheeks aren't really red, just pimply and she isn't cranky or irritable.

Hi Mischief,

My 10.5 month old just cut his first tooth and for the past couple of weeks he was definitely grumpier in the afternoons and that's when his cheeks would be bright red too! I used the Brauer's during the day and gave him panadol or nurofen before bed, sometimes during the night too if needed. I used Bonjella as well. The Bruaer's definitely reduced his irritability in the afternoons. The little tooth would come up, go down, come up, go down and finally yesterday it broke through! Or maybe it was Saturday afternoon, he was pretty clingy then...

Now it is through we have one happy boy again!

Tweedledee - Sounds like your bub may just have a bit of a rash. You should call the parenting line in the front of your Child Health Record though and ask what they think. :)

Tan&Will - Steven is picking up some bauers on the way home tonight. For the first time today Oliver is sitting in his bouncer smiling at me. He has had panadol and bonjella, and I feel so horrible for *drugging* him up. :( But I guess its just cruel for him to be crying so much.

You havent drugged him up !
If you were giving it to him repeatedly then yeah maybe :p
All your doing is allowing him a little breather to let him rest & cope :hugs:
