(posted in my last thread but no replies)
We're about to get our FTB rebate so will finally have enough spare $$$ to get a set of clothies!
:smiliedance:
Yep I've been researching them for months and watching more and more $$$ go down the drain in sposies but not having the $$$ to invest in clothies yet, it's driving me insane!

Also the bonus of being able to use them for future bubs, thus saving even more!

My main dillema now is I love the look of the Greens ones and have heard wonderful things about them and am all set to buy the whole set (20 nappies, 20 hemp boosters and 4 microflece boosters) but keep hearing great things about Baby behinds.

I can't afford to do both so want to know straight out form those who have them;

(Keeping in mind my son is a year old!)
Do you think a full set of either BBs or Greens would be enough to cover me for EVERYTHING?
Can anyone give me a review style comparison on both? Pros and cons of each? Thanks ladies, I tried a few types of clothies before and gave up after a week, but you are looking at one keen-to-try-again mum!

If you're looking at both, why not try the trial packs of both? They're quite economical, and you get two nappies in each of the trial packs, so you'd have 4 nappies to try out.

Have a look at Green's trial (under pagages) (http://www.greenkids.com.au/) and Bee's trial (http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/shop/products.php?cat=40). Then when you've given each a good go - you can choose one! Or, alternatively, mix and match. Bee's sell a part-time nappy package that has 12 nappies in it, as do Green's - and you get one free with the Green's 12 piece package.

Anyway, this is what I'm doing - I'm getting my trials next week. I'll let you know how I find them!

I would buy a trial pack of each.
Some people love Pockets and some love the fitted's with covers better.
It really depends on your baby and what shape size and type of wetter they are.
If you decide you prefer one style over the other you can always on sell as both Greens and B/Beehinds have great resale value.
Give them both a go....you may just want to have a mixture of both in your stash.
I use both on my DD, but at the moment am favouring toward the fitted with covers.
MissyMoo also make a great premium fleece pocket that I stuff with a Greens hemparoo and microfibre for nighttime.

Good luck

Do you think a full set of either BBs or Greens would be enough to cover me for EVERYTHING?

Yes, absolutely  I prefer my Greens as thay are so handy & no fuss once they are stuffed. No covers, no liners etc whereas with the BB you need covers, liners, boosters etc.

Can anyone give me a review style comparison on both? Pros and cons of each?
Pro's Greens
Easy to use
Dry faster
No covers or liners
Male Proof :p
Very cute patterns
Can be stuffed with flats if you have them
Can be used unstuffed as swim nappy

Con's Greens
Honestly cant think of any

Pro's BB
Come appart for washing & drying (Greens do that too)
Last all night (Greens do that too)

Con's BB
Need covers, boosters, liner
Take longer to dry

Um thats all i can think of for now. Hope it helps.

i have a massive mix of all sorts of nappies, fitted, aios and pockets. they include beehinds and greens. we used to swear by our greens and other pockets, because they are so easy and fast drying, etc. BUT then we found we just couldn't get them to last through the nights without leaks. We also found pockets and AIOs more likely to explode than fitteds. But as a pp said, fitteds do take longer to dry.

I personally find that fitteds are a great, reliable all-rounder.

I now use my pockets, greens included for convenience when we go out and day use. I would never use a pocket overnight again, or when expecting a big poo.

like several of the above pps said, the answer is really to try both and not commit to loving one over the other until you know how they will work for you.

good luck! have fun spending all your refund! oh to have money to be allowed to spend on nappies! ;)

I have just started off on greens. So far they have been fantastic.

I also love that they dont need covers and they are just so cute!

I would definately recommend trying both. Everyone has very different tastes and you don't know what you might or might not like until you try. I initially got four Greens and two BB's. I ended up selling the BB's as they weren't really for us. They are a great nappy but I just didn't like the bulk. Also if you are going for pockets, you can stuff them with microfibre all the time, rather than hemp if you wish. I just find it makes them less bulky. I add the hemp only over night or long car trips etc:)

hey I think trying both is the best idea too. Im a BB fan, they hold so much more than ANYthing else ive tried (the only ones that my DD 13 months wont leak through), they seem male proof to me - DP hasnt had any problems...yet! lol

I havent used greens but have used fuzzi bunz which seem similar.... I found I would use a liner with the fuzzis even tho they didnt need one as when i didnt they'd sometimes get stained and I was sick of the hassle of getting the stains out.

Hi,

Well i am going to thru a spanner in the works and say get a pack of Bumgenius, they are GREAT.

Dont leak and are cheaper, $24 for the pocket and microfibre booster.
They are avaliable at nurturenappies.

I prefer these to either BB or GKs.

they are very trim as well!
And one size fits all also.

Check them out!

Well I just got my first ever GK in the mail today (thanks MelJ!! ) I have a heap of BB's, mostly bamboo, and I do love them but they take so long to dry. I was originally a fitted-and-cover girl, but have been given a few pockets as presents and I am really loving them, I only ever use pockets when we got out now, and I've seriously considered culling my stash (I can't bring myself to sell my fitteds - yes yes i know about resale value but i'm a hoarder - I'll be giving them to my sister) and just keeping my bamboo fitteds and my pockets, and then because i"ll have a much reduced stash i'll just HAVE to purchase a GK pack :D Or, actually what I'm also thinking of doing (We get our tax tomorrow hehehehehehehehe) is buying a new sewing machine and making myself some pockets.

Oh I won't be getting rid of my Honeyboy! In fact if I had unlimited funds I'd buy 20 Honeyboys, 20 GKs, 20 tots bots bamboozles, and 20 BB Bamboos. :D

I love my BB's. I haven't tried GK's, but have heard great things about them. The BB's are so absorbent and the bulkiness really doesn't worry me. I have the hemps and they dry in a day in the sunlight.

I got my first ever BB's last week and think they are fantastic. I was expecting them to be bulky, but they are a perfect fit for my little girl.
Thumbs up for BB's:smiliedance:

I don't think BB's are bulky at all! I would definately try out a few types before buying alot of one.

Can i just add please make sure you try a few different types befor esettling on one.

i thought that BB would be perfect for us and spnt $350 on them!!!
But have discovered that fitteds dont work for my DD, she has skinny legs and it always leaks around the legs, even after 1.5 hrs!

So please try a few of each, AIO- bubblebubs are great, Pockets- LOVE bumgenius, and some fitteds.

Good luck.

I got the standard hemp pk from BB just last wk. I am falling in love with them. I used normal flat cloth nappies for DD1 and for the past 12mths with DD2. Compare to those, BB nappies are pretty d*mn trim! With flat cloth DD2 couldn't wear jeans, but the BB's are trim enough that she finally can!!:smiliedance:
I haven't used them overnight yet (waiting on wool covers) so can't comment on that.
Dried in a day in the sun. Beautiful fit.

Like all the others have said though, go for the trials. Every bub is different, size of bub and what comes out their ends vary dramatically!!

Good luck!

How did it look on Curtis Queenie? Did you boost it so his bum was up in the air?, that's what happens to my night nappies. I'll have to get a pic of Luca in his black- tough guy nappy.

I voted Green kids.... I have 21 of them. Love them!!! I am looking forward to seeing their new funtimes designs. I keep checking the website everyday!! LOL I think I would like about 26 all up. So I shouldn't need too many more (I have 3 of other brands, Sandra's stuffables & peace pockets which are good aswell).

So far the vote is 9, 9!! LOL :p
