View Full Version : What could this mean?????
My eight week old DS has been seeming unwell, he slept for large amounts last night and this morning (well large amounts for him!), he slept from 6pm till midnight (I had to wake him up to feed him), then didnt wake again til 630am, and even then he was sleepy, and then woke again at 1130am. He hasnt gobbled any of his feeds like he normally does (EBM in a bottle). He hasnt really cried since yesterday, and has been very sleepy. Oh, and he doesnt even want his dummy, he normally at least wants it to go to sleep and while he is waiting for his feed. He just wants to sleep, and doesnt care where or how, he normally doesnt like being wrapped at certain times, but he just doesnt care right now. I am taking him to the doctors, but not til this afternoon when DH gets home with the car, but I am worried now!! :(
Has anyone else experienced this, is it a cold? Or something else? Please help!

Tyler's mum, yeah I wasn't sure what to do, can they sleep through at such a young age? He was screaming for his feeds every four hours on the dot (or less!). Would he wake for a feed if he was sick though? Excuse my ignorance but being a first time mum its hard to know what to do!!!

tyler started to sleep through at around 8 weeks,, all bubs are different but when tyler gets sick she lets me know when she wants a feed,,
the best advice i can give you is if you are still unsure take him to the doc,,, turst me for the frist 3months of tyler's life i was so scared she was sick or there was something wrong i was alway ringing the hosp and taking her to see the doc
becoming a frist time mum is the most exciting yet scary thing you can every do, im sure you a doin a great job:hugs:
pm if you ever need to chat
Wow, it would be great if he has decided to sleep through! But my insticts also tell me there might be something not quite right, so off to the docs in a couple of hours.
I know what you mean about being scared for them all the time! No one can prepare you for the sleeplessness (not even a word?? lol) that being a mum brings, I mean even when you are asleep, your not actually 'asleep' because you are constantly worried.
Thankyou for your reply :hugs:
:fingerscrossed: he is ok.
