Hi all,

As a reward for getting to my goal weight my bestie and I are thinking about a trip to Fiji for a week leaving my husband at home with our sn child. This wouldnt be til Jul 11 but I cant help but feel guilty for leaving my child at home and also my husband. Have any of you done this or would you? Should I not go or is it a good idea for me to have a break? I just dont know what the right thing to do is. My husband is happy for me to go. Thanks.

go if hubby says to go and you think they will cope together for the week go ! and see it as some extra bonding time for the 2 of them. I'm not sure how old your little man is, but I do know that I'm happy to leave my dd for an extended time although I havn't done it yet with my hubby and I know they will cope just fine, he knows what signs to look of with for her as her needs are strictly medical and not showing and what he would need to do in an emergency and where all her medical notes are and who to ask. So as long as he feels prepared and you would like a break go and have fun.

You need a break too, can I ask what the SN is?? Is it something your husband can't cope with??

If your husband wants you to go and if he is capable of looking after your child's needs, then go and have some fun! :sunshine:

thanks guys. I feel a lot better about it now. My husband is wonderful with our son and i trust he'll be a ok plus his parents live 10mins drive away and i'm sure they'll help out if need be. My son is 2.5yrs has a chromosome abnormality and is developmentally delayed so isnt crawling or sitting or walking or talking but is our whole world. I suppose I better get a move on and get to my goal weight.
