View Full Version : Which is the BEST Electric Breast Pump?
Hey there,
I'm looking into buying an electric breast pump and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I've heard electric are must better than the hand pump....what are you thoughts????
Thanks :)
I have a Medela mini pump and it's great, was a little more expensive than some but not over the top. I wanted the Medela one as that's what brand they had in the hospital so I took that as a recommendation for Medela.
The only thing with an electric pump is if you are a bit sore they can be a bit harsh sometimes.
Thanks Karen, I will look into that. I have a manual breast pump but have heard the electric ones are best.

I can't believe I was the only one to reply!
Do a search on breast pumps cause there was a thread not so long ago on them, you'll get some more ideas there.

i had a medela 'on the go' electric pump.. came with freezer blocks etc
it was great, it got me thru two boys both for 3 - 6 months each
as breastfeeding was quite difficult for myself [particularly with #1 because he had a tiny little mouth - #2 had plenty of mouth:yes: ]
it was my saviour for my ginormous G/H milk centres!! with my size & the pump i had enough milk to give away for 2 other mothers if they had of asked [that was handy for when i had killer mastitis tho]...
i sold my pump on ebay a year or 2 ago - wish i hadnt of now it cost $500
if any mum is well endowed in the breast section i would recommend getting an electric breast pump if they are intent on breastfeeding, because its just not so ezy when you cant just discreetly poke it out

I've got a similar one, the medela pump in style... its BRILLIANT.. I exclusively express for my DD and have for my last 2 as well... with one and two I used an avent hand pump and ended up with such bad hand cramps from doing it so much
the pack ive got now is a double one so you can do both at the same time which in my experience means it takes LESS than half the time to express because with suction on both sides it helps let-down.
It comes with a coolerbag, moulded iceblock, 4 storage containers etc It all packs away nicely in a stylish black backpack :)
The only problem I had was at 4am one night when the electricity had gone out and I needed to express... in the dark.. with the medela hand pump for the first time... it didnt go down to well lol
